Champion Concept - Neirodark, The King of Thieves

As I was thinking about the vast array of League champions, the myriad kit styles and applications, I got to thinking about champion ability currency. We have champions that use mana, energy, rage, cooldowns, and even health, but there is not a single champion that is solely based on using GOLD as its ability currency. So, I decided to try my hand at making such a champ. So, here we go!

Champion: Neirodark, the King of Thieves

A man possessed, utterly consumed by greed, and gifted with a magical golden hand.

Champion Class: Fighter/Support

Champion Style: Attack Speed Duelist

Auto Attack Range: Melee (same AA range as LeeSin)

Passive: Avarice Unending

  • Neirodark passively accumulates gold at double the normal rate (40.8 per 10 seconds).
  • When Neirodark auto attacks any target, he gains one gold.
  • When Neirodark final hits a minion, monster, or champion, he gains 1.5x the normal amount received.
  • When Neirodark dies, he loses half of his current gold.

Q: Golden Touch - Neirodark's next auto attack strikes an enemy with his magical golden hand for 180/197/214/232/250 (+25% of remaining Gold, maxing out at 1000 additional damage). The enemy struck is turned into solid gold for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 Seconds. During this time, they are immune to damage (like item 3157 or Bard). If the enemy is killed by Golden Touch, they explode into gold, refunding Neirodark 50% (45 gold) and resetting the ability's cooldown.

Cost: 90 Gold at all Ranks

Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 Seconds

Ability Type: Empowered Auto Attack

Range: Melee

W: Alluring Light - Neirodark flashes golden light from his magical golden hand in a cone in the direction chosen by the player (about the same size as Darius "Apprehend"), taunting all enemy champions struck for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds.

Ability Type: Skill Shot

Cost: 50/45/40/35/30 Gold

Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 Seconds

E: Gold Rush

  • Passive: Neirodark gains 15%/20%/25%/30%/35% increased attack speed.

  • Active: This active can be turned on/off (like Karthus). Neirodark's auto attacks gain 10/20/30/40/50 (+35% remaining gold, maxing out at 500 additional damage).

Cost: 10/20/30/40/50 Gold per auto attack.

Range: Melee

R: Avatar of Greed - Neirodark summons the entirety of his ill-gotten gain to his aid. After a 3 second cast of gold and precious gems swirling around him as he slowly rises into the air, he becomes a massive treasure golem.

  • The Avatar of Greed (AoG) triples Neirodark's size and doubles auto attack range.
  • The AoG hits for 150/250/350 True Damage.
  • While in this form, Neirodark's actual health bar takes no damage.
  • This ability costs the entirety of Neirodark's current gold.
  • The AoG has health equal to Neirodark's gold at the time of cast (if you have 20,000 gold, the golem has 20,000 health)
  • Neirodark is burdened by the weight of his dark avarice (and the weight of the gold itself). While being the AoG, Neirodark's movement speed is reduced to 50%/55%/60%.
  • While being the AoG, Neriodark cannot cast any of his other abilities.
  • As the AoG is hit, gold flies off of it onto the ground. Allies and enemies alike can pick up this treasure for extra gold. However, Neirodark can grab this treasure as well to gain health back (like Zac).
  • This ability has no time limit, as it ends when the AoG's health drops to zero.
  • Once the AoG dies, Neirodark is left suppressed for 5/4/3 seconds.

NOTE: This ability is NOT a health bar, but a shield, rather. It cannot be increased by life steal or spell vamp, only the gold nuggets.

Ability Type: Empowerment/Shield

Range: Self

Cooldown: 200/150/100 Seconds

Cost: ALL Current Gold

This is ridiculous. I mean, honestly, this has to be reworked so hard you might as well remove it from the boards. I'll try to break down everything wrong with this, but trust me, it will be a long list. Sorry if I use caps a lot, I don't want to be too offensive, I just need to accent important things or how outrageous something is.

Passive: Triple passive accumulation: HE COULD LITERALLY SIT IN BASE FOR THE FIRST 3 MINS THEN TP INTO LANE WITH A BF SWORD AND SHIT ON THE ENEMY LANER 1 gold on hit - this is the only ok thing so far -1 gold for hit enemy champs - gold steal and mana steal are two concepts which riot firmly stated they will not implement in the game because they were unhealthy when they were tested Double gold from minions - unless he dies, he gets an entire item first back everytime, and he has a really easy farm ability with Q Half gold lost on death - insane drawback, can really screw him over; however it adds a lot of risks to his super overpowered parts

Q: Costs gold - I don't really like the theme of gold as a resource you have going on for this champion, but I'll try to roll with it Gold damage scaling - strange, kind of promotes not buying an item for mroe damage, goes well with the gold as a resource thing though Gives zhonya's to enemy - meh drawback, could be used for trolling very easily, and is very frustrating if you don't kill them with it: antifun for all sides Killing them resets cooldown and gives half of gold cost back - THIS IS RIDICULOUS, YOU CAN BASICALLY NASUS Q AN ENTIRE WAVE WITH NO COOLDOWN, AND GET MORE GOLD THEN OTHER CHAMPS WOULD GET FOR KILLING A WHOLE WAVE, AS WELL AS NOT EVEN USING A RESOURCE

Also, the last part takes the gold damage scaling over the edge because it does turn it into a Nasus Q. He gets gold from killing those minions which consequently makes each one better, until he returns to base to buy an item. But this champ might go a long time without buying items just for the sake of all the gold boost he gets. The only thing balancing this is passive, because he might be scared to not buy item, since if he dies he loses half of his massive hoard of gold.

W: INSTANT 3 SECOND TAUNT IN A CONE WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU SMOKING ^enough said

E: Gives ally 500 gold, ally buys item with gold, does 500 damage to ally - This is either going to be super troll or super abused because if they are buying items, they're sitting in base anyways to regen lost hp All around unhealthy ability, even if you don't rework the other stuff, this NEEDS to be removed, it can't even be toned down like the others

R: all around insanely broken, unfair, and honestly its an instant win when you cast it triple size - makes sense triple auto attack range - actually makes him a ranged champion (lee sin range is 125, x 3 is 375; that's graves and urgot's ranges) THE REAL PROBLEM WITH THIS RANGE IS DEALING 300-500 TRUE DAMAGE WITH EVERY ATTACK NEVER MIND ABOUT THE BF SWORD HE RUSHES A BUNCH OF NASHOR'S TEETH AND DOES UP TO 1250 TRUE DAMAGE EVERY SECOND ON TOP OF THAT HE HAS CRAZY HP AND IT NEVER TIMES OUT AND HE HAS ZAC PASSIVE AND CAN REGAIN 100% OF THE HP HE LAST BY WALKING TO THE DROPPED GOLD AFTER HE ONESHOTS PEEPS OR JUST REGEN IT ALL BACK WITH A HEXTECH GUNBLADE OFF THAT INSANE DPS

Seems extremely OP But a kind of fun idea, even though this would probably be the next big troll champ. Could work if tweaked a bit.
