How to fix veigar.

Everyone has complained forever, about mainly is ULTIMATE, they cant seem to balance him, wtf right?

Currently, veigar's ult is meant to be a finisher, so I will be still leaving that here.

Currently, a normal lvl 6 veigar, has about 35-50 stacks, lets just say 35, using 15 ap rune page, with dorans, so he is sitting at 65 ap, when you are about 350 health, he can 1 hit you. This, will probably never change, even with the idea I am introducing, what I am focused on though, is his late game ult potential, of hitting 1-2k off people like it's literally a fucking joke.

Basically, hit ult would become true damage (HEAR ME OUT BEFORE YOU PROTEST!), it would be 200 (.1 ap (10%) ratio), 300 (.2 (20%) ap ratio), 400 (.3 (30%) ap ratio).

So lets do some late game match, a 5k health sion, with about 150 mr, will still get 1hit at about 600 health. Which is okay, but then, your adc n squishy mid get stomped be a single Q and then R, which literally does like 1-1.3k damage off you.

This is where the unfairness comes into play.

A 900 ap veigar, would have an ult damage of 400+ 300 damage, which means, he can only true damage for 700.

Some may consider this bs, but this about this, he still 1hit's a tank at 500-800hp, especially with void, by making the ult true damage, would make void useless on his ult. His ult would no longer 1hit someone who is 2/3 health late game.

Yes, it will still have the potential to be that death dealing blow, even with 65ap, and 200 true damage at lvl 6: 200+ 6.5, which, even me as a mastery 7 veigar main on 2 account, I will tell you that is still ABSOLUTELY enough damage, most mid laners carry only 700-900 health at lvl 6.

Against some champs who build rod of ages and the like, this is the last problem, it could make him useless against any of these champs, so the OTHER thing that could be done, is to change the ult to the true damage stated above, but the scaling would be based ONLY upon missing life, as it is now, upwards of lets say 4% (.5 ratio) ap increase, starting at 20, going to 80%, based upon 80%,60%,40%,20% life remaining. The life remaining damage would be true damage as well, or could be ap, I like to keep it at true damage for the moment though.

At 20% life remaing on a 5k life tank with mass mr currently with ult, at 5k life sion, or 5k life chogath jg, they still have 1.25k health, and would not be 1hit by current veigars ult, or this veigars ult, as it would do 400+ 80% (300 damage) for a grand total of a 700 true damage ult, so that is an idea as well. It would work fine on those guys who build rod of ages.

Other than that, Idk what else you could do to fix him, because a good veigar late game should literally crush anyone without enough cc or heavy peel.

Veigar is the late game burst mage, why you would want to change him? Also veigar ult don't have a very big range.

As a Veigar main I understand some frustration towards him that squishies have however even at 1100 AP if a tank has some MR (even just boots) You're not busting them at 2/3 HP with your ult.

He is actually in a really good spot right now as far as balance. There are a number of true counters to him and for the rest its a game of skill and a game of time. If you can get your team to shut him down even slightly early and end at about 30 mins.. there's nothing he can do. No different than a number of other late game champs.

I personally like the first idea, because a shitty veigar, will have a shitty ult, if he is 400 ap by 30 minutes, his ult is only going to be doing 120 extra damage, so his ult damage will only be 520, making him still strong, but not nearly as deadly as popping off any squishy half life with his ult.

Or maybe put a cap on his passive so if he gets fed he doesn't reach 1600 Ap.
