Chamo: The Mischievous (champion concept)

Chamo is a Vastayan that's part human, chameleon, and frog. This combo gives him innate agility, stealth, as well as a poisonous punch. In game he plays the role of an AP assassin jungler that fits a more supportive role for his team, making up for dealing less damage than other assassins with more CC options. Chamo is also extremely slippery, but extremely squishy, and he has to make use of all the tools he is given to make picks as well as get into and out of trouble alive.

Short Lore: Chamo is a mischievous young Vastayan who is dedicated to Xayah and Rakan's cause, even though they don't affiliate with him and keep refusing his requests to join their team despite his many requests. He often takes on personal missions and assists with those of Xayah and Rakan as sneakily as he can. However, his presence is still often noticed by the duo, much to Xayah's annoyance. Rakan doesn't seem to mind though. Chamo takes the Vastayan cause very seriously, combat not so much. His ventures involve agility, stealth, deadly toxins, and a healthy dose of trickery and fun. For Chamo that is.

Passive: Elusive Elusive becomes active if Chamo hasn't taken champion damage in 2 seconds. While Elusive is active, entering brush will grant Chamo 35% movement speed and invisibility lasting 1.25 seconds. He can not use the same brush to go invisible for 10 seconds after using it. Chamo cannot go invisible when entering bushes with control wards in them, but will still gain the movement speed bonus like he would normally.

Q: Sticky Tongue Cost: 50 Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 Chamo lashes out with his tongue, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and pulling it short distance towards him and slowing it by 35% for 1.5 seconds. Magic Damage: 70/110/150/190/230 (+60% AP)

W: Toxic Flurry Cost: 45 Cooldown: 8 Chamo gains attack speed and bonus magic damage on his basic attacks for 2.5 seconds. During this time, he heals for the bonus damage dealt to monsters. Once the attack speed boost runs out, Toxic Flurry can be reactivated to cause his next attack within 5 seconds to deal more magic damage and poison his target for 3 seconds, dealing additional magic damage per second. Activating Toxic Flurry doesn't break invisibility, and entering invisibility refreshes Toxic Flurry's cooldown. Attack Speed: 40/80/120/160/200% Bonus Magic Damage On Hit: 15/25/35/45/55 (+15% AP) Reactivate Magic Damage: 40/60/80/100/120 (50% AP) Poison Magic Total Damage: 60/100/140/180/220 (+30% AP)

E: Leap Frog Cost: 70 Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 Dash in the target direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy champion or large monster hit and stunning it for 0.75 seconds. Chamo then flips over it, landing a short distance on the other side of it. Chamo also stops and flips over allied Champions and terrain, and gains 35% bonus movement speed for 1.25 seconds when doing so. Magic Damage vs Enemy Units: 40/70/100/130/160 (+30% AP)

R: Corrosive Cover Cost: 100 Cooldown: 100/90/80 Disappear in a cover of toxic gas that deals magic damage over 4 seconds to enemies caught in the area, slowing them. Upon cast, quickly dash a set distance in the target direction, becoming visible again when you arrive. Magic Damage Per Second: 30/60/90 (+25% AP) Slow: 35/45/55%

As Chamo, you're a stealthy jungler or support who's job is to surprise enemies and set up picks for your team.

With your passive you can sneak through the jungle and into lane or dip into brush and surprise your enemy laners by appearing beside them. While counter jungling or on the run, Elusive also proves to be a very useful tool.

Sticky tongue is your most important ability to land in a fight and helps you secure your kill. The best part about it is that it allows you to potentially get a pick without having to dive into the enemy team. The pull isn't as far as say a Blitz hook though so you will have to advance a little out of your comfort zone.

Toxic Flurry is your main damage tool and you're going to want to use it once you've singled out a target to deal the bulk of your damage damage. To get the most damage out of Toxic Flurry you're going to have to survive in the thick of it for the attack speed boost's duration. If you'd rather play it safe, it might be better just to wait for the flurry attack speed boost to run out and simply go in when the toxic attack is primed. Weaving into and out of brush using your passive allows you to deal surprising damage in extended engages.

Leap Frog can be used to engage, escape, or stick to a target after Sticky Tongue's slow falls off, allowing you to hit Toxic Flurry's empowered attack. Use allied players and terrain to your advantage to surprise enemies or escape certain death.

Corrosive Cover is what you use when you're in the middle of the enemy team and need to get out of a bad spot. It can help you finish off targets and also assist your team in a team fight, providing pretty decent damage as well as slowing enemies and making them vulnerable. You can also use it as an engage tool instead. Overall it's a versatile ability that helps Chamo and his team out a lot.

His kit doesn't reflect his story, even less his design.

  • his passive and Q fit being a chameleon.
  • his Q and E fit being a frog.
  • his W and R fit nothing.

His passive is lacking, being half of Teemo's passive with nothing new added to it.

His Q is incredibly weak, falling behind on every current hook in the game in terms of both damage and actual cc.

His W is the complete opposite. getting half a champion kit put into a single ability. giving him a large boost in attack speed and an on hit effect like kayle but finishing it off with a quite powerful poison effect. my main issue with this however is that is goes against the character who apparently does not take fighting very serious only to go full First of the Northstar on this ability.

His E is honesty fine, if not just annoying to play against, being stunned while your opponent gains a large speed boost that they can enhance even further by just going into a bush. sounds really annoying to have to deal with.

Finally his R is again, doesn't really make sense thematically. he's a toad/chameleon, where does the poisonous cloud come from? Other than that, this feels somewhat like a get out of jail free card, again giving you a massive boost in mobility this time through a dash but additionally slowing your opponent and reducing all defense by a fourth of their original value. It feels insanely powerful.

Overall I'm not a big fan of the concept, it definitely has potential but for now it feels more like a Teemo rework with a frog mixed in than its own concept. I'd say tone down some of the abilities, more on the character's theme and make the character less battle ready so to speak, someone you would be hesitant of to put in your ranks, instead having them be a trickster or just a less serious character overall.
