Idea for a REAL SUPPORT, not assassin-in-disguise (Pyke)

So, I was a little concerned when Pyke came out and Riot called him a "Support". I don't see anything supportive about him. I'm honestly a bit upset he was released as a champion when his entire kit should have been improvements to existing Champions. His Q should have gone to Urgot to set up E+W, his W should have been the improvement to Rek'Sai's burrow, his E is a combo of Ekko's W+E, and his Ult is Darius' upgrade, or again, Urgot's. I got so caught up in the idea that a Support should not be capable of executing teams for a Penta that I came up with a rough draft for a Champion that doesn't deal damage. I'm gonna preface the rest of my post by saying that exact values, cool down times, mana costs, and the like, are waaaaaay above my pay grade. I'm really only here with a Champion, story, and ability outlines. Please do not get mad or insulting if my values or suggestions are impractical or imbalanced, simply offer a suggestion for what would be practical and balanced. Thank you all for your understanding, patience, and recommendations in advance. Also, I fully realize that there is A LOT going on with a lot of her abilities, but that's kinda the offset for not dealing damage.

Name: Miranda, The Cherisher of Life

Role: Support

Theme: A Tanky Healer that preserves life instead of dealing damage

Concept/Backstory:

Miranda started her life the same as any other Yordle. Not overly bright, but a kind-hearted young girl. Her tragedy began with disease taking her father and brother. Her mom couldn't provide for Miranda and her sister, so poverty and winter lead to disease claiming their lives as well, and left Miranda an orphan. She was taken in by a local nurse, and spent most of her childhood watching her caretaker treat disease in others. She wanted nothing more than to be a part of the healing, and prevent others from knowing the complete despair that consumed her. Unfortunately for our heroine, she simply didn't posses the mental faculties required to get through Med School. With desperate need to escape depression, Miranda left home to search for an answer that wasn't dependent upon her ability to be educated. After many years of traveling the world and chasing down false leads, Miranda found herself in a small cave. It was a dingle dark room with a pedestal in the middle, bathing in light from an unknown source. Atop the pedestal sat a small golden chalice, which spoke to Miranda. It revealed itself as the Fountain of Youth, which had been watching her for quite some time. It knew everything about her; her life, dreams, troubles, and most importantly, her heart. The Fountain made her an offer, which she accepted: It would give itself to her until the end of time, to use as she saw fit to end the suffering around her and preserve life. In exchange, Miranda would also have eternal life; forever doomed to walk the world amidst all the sorrow and suffering she so despised...

Last side note: I still can't figure out if she should use mana, or use her HP pool like Vlad. Maybe even convert HP/Healing to a Water resource to use to power her abilities. Anyways, on to the abilities:

Passive: Fruitful Fountain Effects: Bonus HP is increased by Current % of Max HP. (BH & C%). Miranda's Bonus HP (including Passive increase) & Current % of Max HP will be the base values and ratios for her abilities. Miranda's Total Armor & MR will also have her (C%) ratio. So 100 Armor at 50% HP will be 50 Armor. Miranda starts with the "Chalice of Life", a Kalista Black Spear, to bind 1 ally as her "Cup-Bearer". Miranda's Auto-Attacks DO NOT DEAL DAMAGE. Instead, she throws a water balloon that applies 1 stack of "Watery Life" to enemies. Watery Life: Each stack (max 15) reduces the target's damage dealt by 1%. Stacks are lost after 5 seconds without taking damage (or another Miranda AA), or 1.5 seconds after taking damage from the Cup-Bearer. Cup-Bearer: Damaging an enemy affected by "Watery Life" heals you for 1% of your missing HP, per stack of "WL". Attacking an enemy with 10 or more stacks of "WL" stuns them for 2.5(C%) seconds. The same enemy can't be stunned more than once every 8(C%) seconds.

Q: Wash with Love Effects: Throws and shatters the Chalice (Fountain cup she carries as a "weapon") at target location. Allies hit by Wash with Love are healed for ((BHxC%) divided by # of allies healed), increased by 10% for each Rank beyond 1. Enemies struck are slowed by 10% for 1 second, and gain 1 stack of "WL" per Rank. If at least 3 Allies are Washed, including minions, Miranda may re-cast this ability within 1.5 seconds to teleport to the Washed allied Champion with the lowest C% HP.

W: Raining Prosperity Effects: Waters rise from the Chalice and rain on target location for 5 seconds. Each second, allies in the area gain ((BHxC%) /50) Attack Speed and Movement Speed, 4% Lifesteal & Spellvamp, and all damage they deal applies 1 stack of "WL" to enemies. Enemies in the area lose (10% of Allies' AS/MS Bonus) AS & MS, and gain 1 stack of "WL", per second in the storm. Enemies in the storm do not lose "WL" stacks after being damaged by the Cup-Bearer.

E: Flowing Grace Effects: Miranda wills water from the Chalice to target Champion for 2.5 seconds. This is an interruptible channel. If the targeted champion is an ally, they are healed for (BHxC%) over the duration. If the Champion is an enemy, they are suppressed for the duration, receiving 1 stack of "WL" per second of suppression. If Flowing Grace is fully channeled, Miranda and her target TRADE (C%) with each other.

R: Font of Eternity Effects: Miranda raises the Fountain of Youth above her head, turning it into Niagra Falls. She is raised up on a pillar of water, and more covers the ground around her in an area the size of Trundle's Frozen Domain. This will be a resource-per-second ability, like Anivia's Ult. It stays centered on Miranda and reduces her MS to 20% (not "by 20%"). Upon activation, Miranda is shielded for (BHxC%). Every second, allies in the area are healed for 20/40/60% of this amount. All allies can proc the "WL" stun as though they were the Cup-Bearer. No "WL" stacks can be lost inside this area. Enemies in the area lose 2/4/6% AS, MS, Armor, MR, CDR, & Current mana every second, while gaining 1/2/3 stacks of "WL" each second. Enemies ALSO HEAL for (Current "WL" stacks x 3)% of Miranda's Allies' healing each second while in this area.

There she is! Let me know what you think and if I could change anything to make this a real dream of a real champ!

you made a champ that can never exist outside of support which is a horrible idea because it limits what can be done with the champ

While i like the idea of a new support champion and not just another assasin "support" champion. I think the other guy has a good point. Before her rework soraka was actually fun to play because she could do more than just heal bot. Since her rework shes completely useless not only outside of a support role but even by herself shes nearly helpless. The kit that youre proposing is nice and creative and would bring some cool supporting to the rift but she would be literally useless by herself which is just unhealthy. Also I'm not a big fan of at least part of her passive. Having her armor/mr decrease with current hp will make her extremely squishy against sustained damage or multiple bursts. Also her not having autoattacks in exchange for the damage reduction isnt good enough. I'd suggest moving the damage reduction to some other skill along with the healing it provides because she cant not have autoattacks. She'd literally have no way to win a match by herself unless she waited until she could purchase a zzrot portal and then use its minions to whittle down towers.

I'm going to start with this first.

Your comparisons are weak (His E is not at all like Ekko's W and E).

If you can't see anything supportive about Pyke (a potent AoE slow, a hook, an AoE stun, and a ton of bonus gold) then your looking at his design wrong. He is a support because he functions on low gold. The definition of a support is not 'someone who does very little damage'. Its someone who aids their team (in this case with pick potential mostly) on a low income.

The first thing that you mentioned was that her abilities are a bit overloaded. And while you do need to give her sufficient power to make up for her lack of damage so she can feel impactful, this isn't the way to do it. When she buffs allies, she buffs so many different things about them and it doesn't feel important. Similarly for just one ability the enemy effect of it losing a percent of your AS, MS, Amrmor, CDR, and current mana every second, while also getting stacks of WL, AND HEALING is just wayyyy too much.

As a result you have a lot of invisible power for Miranda hear. As you add additional effects to each spell you are 'spreading yourself thin' if you know what I mean. If a champion's 'power budget' involves 10 'power budget points' to make them balanced, well you've spread all 10 of your power budget points among a lot of different effects, which means each individual effect will be barely noticeable.

That doesn't mean Miranda is weak. What it leads to is Miranda being potentially balanced, but lots of her kit while strong doesn't feel impact. This is bad because if your playing Miranda for fun, you want your spells to be satisfying and powerful when you use them correctly. Its also bad for the enemy because they don't recognize the minor debuffs they have stacking up to be something significant.

An example is most of Soraka's healing comes from her W, while all of Miranda's healing comes in small little doses throughout her kit that won't be appreciated nearly as much.

The one other general issue I see with Miranda is that healing is a dangerous thing to play with in League. Soraka is often hated because she can simply undo many mistakes her allies make. Furthermore, consistant healing that doesn't require interaction usually leads to minimal interaction.

If you look at newer designs like Nami, you'll see that for maximum usage and healing you'll want to use it when your near an enemy. Or Bard who not only needs to plan ahead for his healing but also requires him to roam to collect chimes for mana. This is ideal because no one wants to face a Soraka who forces a passive boring laning phase where she just heals her ADC whenever you poke them.

And you did this right to an extent. Her WL mechanic does encourage your ADC and you to actually play the game. But I don't see that in any of the rest of her abilities, which seem to be simply just healing.

I'm going to finish off this lengthy review by pointing out a few areas where your a bit cluttered design wise. She doesn't need a teleport on her Q, especially one that would put her INTO the fray. She doesn't need a targeted surpression to be honest. Another type of CC would work. You need to hunker down and decide on one debuff on her W and R. You can have healing and an additional buff on both abilities, but don't keep as many as you do right now. Its just wayy too cluttered and it feels tacked on. Trading current health percent on her E is, if I understand it right, completely busted and unfitting for the champion. Clean up the weird scaling on her passive, there is thematic needs for it but it just makes gameplay even more confusing.

Sorry if I come out as blunt or rough, I don't focus as much on the positives because that isn't as constructive. Miranda's kit isn't actually that bad, it just needs some more focus and cleaning up on it. Its an interesting take on water manipulation and how water really is so key to life. Thanks for sharing you work here and if you want I'll be happy to answer any questions.

And by the way, ignore Unbound Hades. He has a point that it is nice to give a champion multiple ways to be played if possible, but it is not a 'horrible idea' to make a single role champion. Lots of new champions can only be played 'meta' in one role and thats fine.
