Bio

A young boy, Maddox grew up in the streets of Zaun. He had nobody after his parents had died in the destruction of Viktor’s laboratory. An orphan, he constantly wandered Zaun, stealing food he needed to survive. He continued this path for most of his life, until he heard about a plan to fix the problems of humanity; Viktor’s Glorious Evolution.
He knew that Viktor wanted to rid humanity of its destructive ways, to make a world where human flaws were no longer a factor of life. So, at the age of 16, Maddox set out to locate Viktor. He had asked around, but unfortunately nobody had heard of Viktor’s exact whereabouts at the time. Hopeless, he grew depressed, and attempted to commit suicide by diving into a pond of toxic waste.
His attempt failed, as he miscalculated the fall, and ended up breaking his spine on a platform under him. He was instantly paralyzed from the center of his body down. Unable to move, and in extreme pain, Maddox lay there, unconscious.
He later awoke to a blinding light overhead. He could not move, no matter how much he wanted to. Then, as he closed his eyes, thinking he was soon dead, he heard a voice from nearby. He opened his eyes, and looked around. What he saw standing next to him was not a man; or at least not entirely. It was the very man he sought to find in the first place. It was Viktor.

A wave of both happiness and anger raced through Maddox’s body. He attempted to shake free of his restraints, ask Viktor why he wasn’t there when he had needed him. But no words escaped his mouth; only a long, overextended sigh, followed by sleep. When he came to the second time, he could feel something new, something… different. He was no longer restrained. His mind was calm; thoughts of anger, betrayal, sadness, grief… all but vanished. He could feel his legs. Or what he believed were his legs. He stood up, observing the room. As he did, he noticed a strange technological vision enhancement. He could see the heat signatures of the entire room, as well as those beyond the walls of the room he was located. The world was much clearer to him in this light. As he continued observing, Viktor entered the room, his staff and feet clicking with every step. Viktor explained to Maddox that he had heard about the boy asking for his whereabouts. Then, about the suicide attempt, and how a boy laid paralyzed in a hospital bed. The doctors told Viktor that Maddox would never be able to walk again in his life, bound to a bed for the rest of his life. Viktor told the doctors to let him take the boy, to give him the ability to walk once more. The doctors refused, but Viktor made it clear it wasn’t a request. Viktor helped Maddox learn to utilize the bodily enhancements that had been bestowed upon him. Maddox’s body was now mostly mechanisms, with the exception of his upper torso and head, though even those were covered in internal wiring. Once he had complete control over his newfound body, Maddox left Viktor, in search of a newfound desire for knowledge. On his quest, he learned a lot about hextech, and how to create many things, from automatons, to weapons, to even simple gadgets. He knew of Runeterra’s constant conflicts within itself. This knowledge, combined with his knowledge of hextech, is what caused him to realize the one flaw within himself; paranoia. Maddox became paranoid at the thought of one day being attacked, unaware. So he created his ultimate masterpiece; a revolver he named Liberation for he believed it would be the weapon to finally put Runeterra at peace. And with it, as well as his many other gadgets, Maddox set out in his own attempt to free Runeterra of its warmongering ways.

Relations

• Due to their violent ways, Maddox despises all Noxians. • Maddox distrusts Demacians as well due to their overwhelming self-righteousness. • Maddox is impartial to those from Freljord. • Maddox is impartial to non-Ascended champions from Shurima. He dislikes Ascendeds due to their god-like stature, and believes they have no right to live amongst men. • Maddox despises anyone related to the Void. • Maddox likes those from Piltover and Zaun. • Maddox despises Darkin for he thinks they are weak because of the weapon’s powers that consume them. (NOTE: Special interaction with Kayn if he chooses Shadow Assassin since Kayn triumphs over the Darkin.) • Maddox despises those from Bilgewater due to the amount of criminal activity throughout it. Abilities/Stats

Base Stats

• Health: 523.4 (+74) (1,855.4) • Mana: 296.3 (+43) (1,070.3) • HP5: 7.3 (+0.6) (18.1) • MP5: 6.03 (+0.83) (20.97) • AD: 62.3 (+2.89) (114.32) • AS: 0.713 (+1.7%) (1.019) • AR: 18.6 (+2.8) (69) • MR: 30 (+0.5) (39) • MS: 330 • Range: 575

Liberation (Passive)

• Liberation holds up to six shots. Each shot fires faster than the last. Shots have increased attack speed of 0/5/10/20/35/55%. Liberation’s final shot will deal True Damage equal to 80% of his normal basic attack damage. • Liberation takes 2/1.5/1 second(s) to reload. Decreases at levels 8 and 15. • Liberation does not gain increased attack speed from items. Instead, 25% of attack speed gained from items is turned into movement speed instead.

Projected Maneuver (Q)

• Maddox quickly spins towards the curser. Upon reaching his destination, Maddox shoots the closest target, prioritizing enemy champions. If no target is within range, this ability’s cool-down is halved. If this ability is used while Liberation is reloading, this ability’s cool-down and Mana cost is refunded. If used while reloading, he reloads immediately after he has finished traveling. This ability cannot pass through terrain. • Cool-down: 6 seconds. • Mana Cost: 40/45/50/55/65 Mana • Range: 250 Units

Lock-On Sequence (W)

• Pulse Tracker (Passive): Maddox’s basic attacks leave a Pulse Tracker on enemy champions, epic monsters, and non-epic monsters. Pulse Trackers last for 6 seconds. Basic attacks against a target with Pulse Tracker active takes 5% more damage from Liberation. Basic attacks against the same target refresh the timer of Pulse Tracker. There can only be up to 4 Pulse Trackers active at once. • Sequence Initiated (Active): Upon activation, Maddox will instantly fire a bullet at each target within basic attack range that has a Pulse Tracker on them, critically striking. While on cool-down, Pulse Tracker is inactive. • Cool-down: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds • Mana Cost: 60/65/70/75/90 Mana

Stealth Beacon (E)

• Maddox throws down a Stealth Beacon at target location. Stealth Beacons grant True Sight in a 300 unit radius. If an enemy champion walks within 150 units of the beacon, it detonates, applying Pulse Tracker to enemies within 150 units of it. • You may only store up to 2 Stealth Beacons at a time. Stealth beacons last for 45 seconds. • Cool-down: Recharges 1 Stealth Beacon every 60/55/50/45/40 seconds. • Cost: 70/75/80/90/100 • Range: 300 Units

Heat Optics (R)

• Threat Detection (Passive): Maddox gains 15% bonus movement speed while no allied champions are within 700 units. Threat Detection becomes inactive if Maddox was in combat within the last 4 seconds. • Liberation Day (Active): Maddox gains True Sight of all enemy champions within 1,500 units of his location. For the next 4 seconds, Maddox’s attack range increases by x2.5. If Liberation runs out of bullets before the 4 seconds, the ability ends early. • Cool-down: 160/130/100 seconds • Cost: 100 Mana

Gameplay

I feel that Maddox is a sort of ADC/Ranged assassin. He's able to quickly move around the map while out of combat once he hits level 6, allowing for good gank potential if played in the jungle. He also has good clear against Non-epic/Epic monsters due to his W passive, granting a bit of needed extra damage. Once in combat, he is still mobile, but more reliant on his Q for his mobility rather than pure movement speed.

His ultimate is designed to work in cohesion with his W and Q, since the attack range is based on his basic attack range. This ability allows Maddox to either initiate a team fight by damaging enemy squishies, forcing them to play much safer, or to finish off a target that has low health.

Summoner Spells/Items

If played as an ADC, which I see being his main role, Maddox should take summoner 4 and summoner 7, the standard ADC spells.

Core ADC Items

Maddox has two potential build paths as of the current meta. To start, though, he should always be taking item 1055 and a item 2003.

The first build path is lethality; grab a item 1038 on your first back and then build a item 3142. GB works well with his movement speed bonuses and grants good amounts of damage. After item 3142, Maddox should grab a item 3031 due to his guaranteed critical strikes on his W.

The second build path is more towards survivability rather than raw damage; grab a item 1038 on your first back and then build a item 3046 . After that, build a item 3139 assuming you're against heavy CC. If not, then build a item 3078 instead.

Core Jungle Items

If taken in the jungle, Maddox doesn't have as much flexibility with his items. To start, grab a item 1041 and 3 item 2003 to give you the extra regeneration over item 2031.

After your first clear, you should go back and buy a item 3706, a item 2031 (or item 2032 if you have enough), and item 1001.

Your first full item should be item 3147 and then after that grab a item 3046.

I am well aware of the similarities between Maddox and Jhin/Vayne/Ezreal with certain abilities/aspects of his kit.

this is cool. the walk animation should be maddox walking kinda like jhin but right (or left) hand should be in a pocket of his coat where he will keep the stealth beacons and the other hand should be kinda like a hand - gun. when he is nearby enemy minions or champions he will have his gun out while he is at base or on his way to lane the hand will be out without the gun. What I mean is the hand (when he's be nearby what I said earlier) becomes the gun and when he has more increased speed he will run like this: https://aos.iacpublishinglabs.com/question/aq/1400px-788px/can-person-run-6-minute-mile_8542308e91406401.jpg?domain=cx.aos.ask.com (the pic of what I imagine). when he is slowed he will be like his body start malfuctioning. hope your idea becomes true =3 [slayer-jinx-catface]

He seems very similar to Jhin. Love the concept to make Viktor seem more like the good guy he is.

This is an awesome idea and I love the kit! Really seems like the kind of Marksman that would get me to play the role like Jhin did!

I like his passive and it is fair enough from Graves and Jhin's to be special. I like the reload gimmicks as they gate champions and are always really cool.

His Q is pretty cool but seems a little odd. Does it fire still when you are reloading or is it basically just a free dash? Not really sure about this. It seems pretty strong however.

I am fine with the rest of his kIt. It's rather simple in a lot of ways but that's fine in the long run. I don't think a good champion needs to be complex.
