Recycling Champion Shards

I've actually seen a discussion or two about this before, but it is actually getting dangerously close to becoming an issue for me.

I am down to 3 champions that I do not own now, and I actually expect that I will have the final three by late December or January.

The issue is, when unlocking chests and gaining additional champion shards, .. there really wont be much to do with them, other than to keep 3 on hand for when a new champion comes out (which is nice. Free champions, yay!), or to disenchant them for champion essence, which is still useless.

An idea that I don't think I recall hearing would be to allow us to reroll 3 champion shards and if there are no champions available to be made permanent for that player, they gain a single skin shard instead.

Ultimately, this would be a minor consolation, but it would be something.
