Dengara The Half Blood (pls dont immediatly downvote because of title, I know its cliche but if you read the Lore it makes perfect sense, (along with the kit)) http://imgur.com/ladnYya

Shurima Fighter/ Mage

Design Philosophy

Dengara a fighter with ranged magic abilities who uses relocation and dimensional spatial fighting. He makes use spatial displacement to confuse the enemy. Dengara is good at initiating, getting in close to deal a lot of damage, and chasing down any stragglers trying to escape, while still being able to dodge any unwanted attacks, but he is not very good at disengaging. He is a very versatile champion who can be hard to hit and has some tricky moves up his sleeves. When he's not tricking his enemies with magic, Dengara is dealing a lot of physical damage up close, and is able to absorb a good amount of damage. He has good synergy with other champions and has good set ups for team fights. The concept behind Dengara is that he is not really a mage, but a traditional fighter who is trying to get used to his new found powers.

KIT pls leave suggestions and critiques

Passive - Unstable Constitution:

Dengara starts the game in Mage Mode. When his mana becomes less than 40% he enters the Unstable Zone: He's silenced, disarmed and untargetable for 1 sec. He then switches to Fighter Mode. He deal magic damage until his mana reaches 85% when he will return to Mage Mode; until then his attacks do physical damage. As a Fighter he gains increased armor, and physical damage and a temporary MS buff.

He has a unique store item - Herbal Medicine: on consumption, it extends the mana limit to 30% of mana before entering the Unstable Zone. Active 1 min.

Q - Telepunch: Range: 1st portal - 275/ 2nd max portal - 1000/ skillshot range from 2nd portal - 200

He channels for 1.75 sec opening a portal before him, retaining 70% MS. Then he throws a double punch into the portal. Instantly a 2nd portal opens at the end of the chosen range and the skill shot continues dealing damage to the 1st target. It stops if it hits an enemy unit before it teleports, dealing reduced damage. If there's a mark on a enemy within 1000 units, the ability just damages the marked target when activated (prioritizes champions), consuming 1 mark.

Once the the skillshot enters the first portal the 2nd is locked in, and does not move even if he does. http://imgur.com/U01v63O (image of range indicator to help you imagine it)

Fighter Mode - Battle Fervor: Passive: Every 4th AA, AS increases by 5% up to a cap of 80%, if he stops AA'ing for 6 sec the AS resets.

W - Phase Out: Range: camo - 400/ explosion - 400

First Cast: He channels for 0.5 sec, becoming camouflaged for 3 sec and able to pass terrain, and causing enemy abilities used on him to do 20% less damage. He can't AA or use spells in this phase. Second Cast: On reactivation he causes an explosion, dealing AoE damage. He can select the location of Portal to blink to upon 2nd cast, which will reduce the CD. Taking Hard CC automatically deactivates W at the end of the CC duration.

Fighter Mode - Tackle: Range: 400 units Dengara jumps a short distance to an enemy unit dealing damage, and applying on-hit effects.

E - Portal:

He channels for 1.5 sec and opens a portal on the ground for 1/2/3/4/5 sec. Enemy units that pass through it are slowed (by 40% for x sec). If they are closer to the center, the slow increases.

Fighter Mode - Pound: Radius: 300 Dengara punches the ground, enemy units get knocked away from him. Enemy units within melee AA range are stunned for 0.5 sec

R - Atomic Displacement:

He grabs an enemy champ, channels for 2.5 sec, suppressing them and himself, and teleports the enemy anywhere in a small area. If the enemy is on Portal, he can teleport them without grabbing them to a location in a larger area, this decreases the channel to 1.75 sec. Passive - Displaced: Dengara's Phase Out (all units hit), Portal (all hit by initial cast), and AA apply marks. While there are 1-4 marks on an enemy, he receives 5/10/15/20% less damage from that target and selecting that target during R switches your locations. Marks last 4 sec and are refreshed by damage. In Fighter Mode, Dengara cannot add marks. Marks previously applied persist until he leaves combat for 10 sec, or he or the target dies. In Fighter Mode previously applied marks grant armor pen, and increased health regen for every mark http://imgur.com/4YeHTd7 (Ult Passive Mark idea, fills up 1 quarter at a time)

Fighter Mode: no ult available in Fighter Mode

LORE Short Version He was a part of the garrison for the protection of his tribe in the Shurima, when it was attacked by Kog'Maw.

It was late evening, the smoldering sun had just sunk beneath the soft golden dunes of Shurima, and the sand crickets were chirping softly. A dry gentle night breeze rustled the palm fronds. The villagers were just settling for sleep. A lamb sensing danger, bleated, seeking security from its master. The villager came out to tend to the jumpy young sheep. He knelt down to calm the lamb - then the attack started!

It jumped onto its first victim in the cover of night, and released a blood curdling howl of hunger. There was a scream of pain, from a ragged wound, instantly waking everyone up from their peaceful sleep. No one had time to react. Everyone flew into a state of panic, but Dengara could not. Or he could not allow him self to. He was charged with the protection of his villages safety and honor, no matter what the enemy. And he would not allow some simple, barbaric creature, no matter how dangerous, toxic, or demonic, to ruin he reputation his proud tribe. The creature was covered in gray scales, some of which glowed, it was about the size of a dog, but it's mouth was bigger than a boars and filled with rows of teeth. It stood hunched over on two legs. But it's appearance did not concern him. He only knew that it was bringing harm to his kinsmen. He launched after the creature to bring it down. He was part of the garrison of his tribe, and even though they fought as a unit, they had not been close when the attack started, and Dengara could not afford to wait. He fought the creature hand to hand, knife to tooth. He stabbed the creature at the same time it bit him, splattering each other in their blood. They struggled vying for control in a death lock. Before one could overpower the other, the rest of the garrison came to his aid, and chased the beast off with the knife still in its neck. But it was too late, the damage was done.

The bite it was nothing compared to what came next. That creature's vile blood from the knife wound, seeped into the gash on Dengara's shoulder from its rows of teeth. The last thing he remembered before fainting was watching the garrison chase the creature as he collapsed unable to move. A gut retching pain, flowed up his arm, pulsing, from his wound inflicted by the creature. So dishonorable, he had failed to kill it while it had killed many of which he was charged to protect, and all he could do in the end was faint.

When Dengara awoke he was lying on a woven grass mat, insects buzzing in the distance. He stared up at the palm frond thatching on the roof of the medical tent. He squinted. He could not see it clearly, it was like he was looking through a veil, the rough thatch was blurry and tinted violet.

Suddenly Dengara's sight blacked out fully and his body was gripped in painful uncontrollable spasms, he felt like he was falling through water. His sight was back, but what he saw made him wish it wasn't. He wasn't under the medical tent anymore, he was somewhere else entirely. They, the kin of the monster he had fought, had brought him there to finish him off he realized! Dengara wouldn't go down without a fight, but he couldn't move, it was like moving through water. Suddenly he felt something solid on his back, his grass mat was fading back into place again, and he blacked out.

Dengara's kinsmen, in charge of watching him, said that he had been laying down the whole time, but he kept fading, flickering in and out of vision. At times disappearing wholly, for varying amounts time. Every time Dengara reappeared he felt more sick and drained. The doctor knew that it had to be magic. The village has good doctor, but they had not associated themselves with magic since the Rune Wars. A curse is what Dengara was suffering from and it was killing him fast, and he now knew that the curse was from another world. The creature's blood had corrupted his.

The mixture of blood from different dimensions reacted violently and trapped Dengara between the two planes of existence, threatening to tear his cells apart. His body could not cope. With no available cure, his fate was sealed and he fell ill vey fast. He was on the brink of death fading between one world and the other, for weeks, body and mind barely hanging on. Until relief came.

In a last act of desperation to save one of the village's best and most honored warriors, the village doctor attempted to reverse engineer the blood spilled by the abomination to create an antidote. Dengara refused the supposed cure, not wanting to have anything to do with the wretched creature. It was a blow to his honor, that the blood of the monster that had killed his kin, scrounged from the ground would save him. Although he would rather have died, the doctor had him held down while he administered the medicine. He struggled and flew into a rage, pushing the members of the garrison off him, he held the doctor up demanding that he undo what he had done. But the warriors cheered and rejoiced; Dengara was standing for the first time in weeks, and more, he was able to lift up something heavier than his soup bowl. Dengara dropped the doctor, realized that he felt strong and energized for the first time since the attack. He felt more anchored to his home world. The doctor had done him a favor. Just as he was about to join his kinsmen, Dengara's knees suddenly buckled and he felt his regained strength ebbing away. As much as he hated to admit it, the few ounces of blood had not been enough to make a permanent cure. Dengara knew that he would have hunt the creature down to survive, but he didn't know what he was hunting, or where it was going.

Dengara later learned that the creature he had fought was known as Kog'Maw. His village was not the first or last to be attacked in the creature's ravenous rampage across Runeterra. Dengara knew where he had to go to find his quarry, and he decided to set out immediately.

He would rather save him self with honor by killing the creature, and harvesting all it blood to make a complete cure, than scrounge the garrison's blades. He would fight for his village's honor, and bring justice to his tribe by killing Kog'Maw, only then would he accept the cure.

Tips for Playing as Dengara

  • Decide whether to build physical damage, magic damage, or both before a game
  • Phase Out can be used defensively on a Portal placed in a bush or behind himself
  • Sometimes fighter mode is better for greater damage, and attack speed, and armor
  • Plan your switches around your silence time, when you will be vulnerable
  • CDs are much shorter and mana cost much lower in fighter mode
  • Try to get max stacks on the enemy before going into fighter mode (they provide important stats, and will help you survive)
  • Phase Out persists for the duration of the spell so it can be used right before you enter the unstable zone, or before you take a form of CC to avoid most of the negative effects.
  • So does Portal's slow AoE
  • If you are near 40% mana use E on your target, then W to it, then will allow you to get close to enemy so you can get them with your Fighter abilities better.
  • Buy CDR so you can spam your abilities, but try to stay away from items that increase your mana if you want to be able to switch quickly
  • Try to build Displaced passive stacks on as many targets before a switch, even minions to boost your Fighter stacks

Tips for Playing against Dengara

  • He is moderately mana hungry
  • Moderately high cooldown on Mage abilities
  • Loses range and effects in fighter form
  • Squishy in early game
  • Most attacks only damage one target, minimal crowd control
  • All magic attacks can interrupted thanks to the channel
  • Watch out for fighter mode because there are no channels
  • He can be easily killed after the initial phase of Unstable Zone, with correct positioning, he only starts regaining mana during the silence and not health
  • His post Unstable Zone strength depends on the Displaced stacks he placed prior
  • Denying his passive stacks will make him lose a lot of Mage and Fighter power
  • As a Mage his weakness are AD champions, as a Fighter his weakness are AP champions
  • If Dengara starts spamming abilities in Mage Mode watch out for a Fighter Mode engage

Quotes: On Champion selection "All is fair in a fight to the death"

No one understands my plight It is a curse not a gift You don't even want to imagine what I've seen You do not know my pain I won't labor under this curse for long For honor For my tribe The void would swallow you whole An enemy of my tribe is an enemy of me First I'm here then I'm there Use all the weapons in your arsenal to take the enemy down I will avenge my tribe, my cure can wait A tireless warrior will never slow All's fair in a fight to the death Feel my tribe's anguish This power has its advantages The void stole my humanity from me I will make the best of this power Two roads where offered to me, but I chose the portal in between I'll take a shortcut I've got many more tricks up my sleeve You haven't seen the half of it I've seen worse The void didn't chose me, it stole me I will hold nothing back You must fight with all that you have to win, you obviously didn't

Joke "I have perfected technique in battle - whoa!" *A portal suddenly opens beneath him and he falls half way in, and he struggles to pull him self out

Dance Opens two portals on the ground and jumps in, every time he pops out of one he is in a different pose

Taunt *Opens a small portal in his hand "I wonder what would happen if I opened a portal on you and closed it while you were still half way through"

Callback He slowly widens a portal with his hands, cracking it open in front of him and jumps in

Death "No, not yet" "Was this the best I could do?" *He freezes in place, flickering and slowly fades/ flickers out.

Reanimation *Portal appears the above ground and he falls out landing in a kneeled crouch "I rise again" "You cannot truly kill a true warrior"

Special interaction *Against Kog'Maw: Fighter AA become knife swipes. "I've got my knife back"

Hey! Your concept seems really interesting but I am having trouble understanding what his abilities do. As you said to me maybe find a more clear way to explain his abilities. It really helped me ( I think) maybe you should try it. Although the idea behind his design is pretty cool.
