Role Selection
Hey guys, I had an idea about champ selection and the lane you are in.
So, I play support a lot, but not cause I want to, its because it is usually the only role that isn't taken. I don't really like to fight or be really fast to call a lane, and this was usually when I played blind, or even draft not so long ago. I mean, I understand why it isn't the most chosen lane, too. You have a select few champs to play as, they all kinda have the same role, and not the greatest damage.
What I am thinking, is that we open up roles to more than just normal champions, at least in blind. I don't like playing draft (norm) with odd champs that don't correspond to the lane, because if you do bad, you get yelled at, or raged typed, and you feel bad during the game, unless you put yourself up to hitting the mute button. But if you allow roles to be versatile in champion selection, I think you would have a lot more people okay with choosing support, or jungle.
What I also think, too, is that when you usually play a different champion, like Leblanc, or Renekton, (because you maybe want to try them, or just like those champions) in a lane like support, you should be given an option to have a support page, not for the whole build, but more of for the start, to buy your normal gold item and sight stone, if needed. This is normally because these champions aren't usually support roles, so when you get out on the field, you instantly buy their recommended, or your set up page, and half way out there, you see you didn't buy the correct stuff. Now you gotta wait till you have enough money to buy it and perhaps even get set back a little.
What I am saying, is that the game should be enjoyable, and when you wanna play a game that isn't so serious (like blind) you should be able to break the meta every now and then (by just a little, or maybe a lot if with teams) and be able to have fun with the game. That, and if the meta has to stick, maybe support the player that has to fill the role with the option of buying the right items easily.
Maybe I am just lazy, or just muscle memory and walk, but I feel like we should have a little time to correct ourselves, instead of feeling bombarded by the team for picking the wrong items, or not fairing too well in lane because you don't know how to play certain champs for certain roles.
