Weather in summoner's rift
I think we have all grown to love summoner's rift as the most popular map in league of legends; this doesn't mean that a little bit of variety wouldn't help. I think adding weather to summoners's rift would add so much more to the league experience and maybe add some depth to game play. Keep in mind, all of these effects are rare to make sure they don't interfere with game play too much.
Here are some examples:
Breeze - drafts of settle winds flow around the rift and are constantly shifting. These winds are mostly transparent and very light. Going with the wind grants a very small movement speed buff and going against it slow you down just a bit. Wind currents are the most common weather effect but are still relatively uncommon.
Rain - Sometimes, there will be little patches of rain that last approx 1 minute. It is not heavy rain, just a little bit of water and plants will naturally spawn faster in these rainy areas. This is the second most common weather effect.
Snow - During the winter time, where rain would normally be, there is snow. Any fruit that have been snowed on freeze and are unusable until they thaw.
Thunderstorm - This effect is really rare and will only happen once every 10 games. Thunderstorms have the exact same effect as rain but every 12 seconds, a random unit is selected and struck with lightning dealing true damage increasing with level.
Hail - The most rare of all weather effects; when it is winter time, thunderstorms are replaced with hail. Any until under hail takes true damage the longer they stay in the hail as well as a 10% slow. It also has the same effects are snow does.
Keep in mind, this is not perfect but I feel like it's a good idea so if you have better ones, the comment section is rights below.
