Ping In Client

As someone who frequents different Wi-Fi's when i go into a game i have no idea what my ping is going to be like. I thought that it would be possible to add into the home screen or the creating game menu, a small icon to click on that would (after a short delay) give you your current ping as to the LOL servers. Anyone else have some thoughts to this?
