Wacker - The Devil of Mischief | Shuriman Gunslinger / Guerrilla Tactics ADC Concept
#Wacker - The Devil of Mischief http://i.imgur.com/5Y6YW9r.png Hi everyone! This isn’t the first champion concept I’ve made but it is the first one that has made it this far into the theorycrafting process so I thought I’d post it. :D Feedback and suggestions and hateful comments about Teemo’s demise are all welcome. All images used in this showcase are my own.

#Description Primary Role: Marksman Alignment: Shurima
##Theme The theme for this champion is: The Hunter Becomes The Hunted. Wacker is a mischievous trickster who lures enemies into his territory, and just when they think they’ve caught him, he slips right through their fingers before turning the tides and unleashing a torrent of bullets upon his foes.
##Niche Wacker brings to the table some powerful objective control and disengage tools. He has no pushing power but can take down objectives very quickly, all the while creating a powerful network of traps to give allies information about enemy whereabouts. He also has decent dueling potential, for a marksman.
#Lore ##Hard-Earned Meal Wacker reached up and pulled himself over the last rock to observe his prize. Before him lay an unguarded nest belonging to one of the greatest winged predators in Shurima, and in it rested three of the bird’s eggs. Each was sandy white, and about the size of Wacker’s head. Needless to say, his pouch would only be able to carry one. That would suffice. Wacker licked his lips as he reached in and picked up the nearest egg. As soon as he grabbed the egg, Wacker paused, his ears perking up.
Flap. Flap.
Wacker ducked not a moment too soon as massive claws graced the air his head had just been. A gust of wind followed, blowing Wacker’s hair every which way. Through the mess, he could spot his adversary--a large bird with the semblance of a great vulture, with thick, strong feathers and scaled claws the size of swords. Wacker spared no more time looking at the bird. He stuffed the egg into his pouch and leapt down the rock outcropping, skidding down the side of the mesa. Twenty meters away was another cliff edge that he needed to reach, but the bird had swooped around for another pass--
Wacker took off at full sprint--
With the squawking bird right on his tail--
The egg bouncing precariously in his pouch--
Ten steps from the cliff edge--
The shadow of the bird closing in--
Five steps--
Two--
A gust of wind hit Wacker in the back, throwing him off his feet and over the edge of the cliff. The great bird soared past and dived into the ravine. As Wacker flailed his arms, he saw the egg slip from his pouch and fall down the ravine--
Straight towards the waiting bird--
The two of them grasped for the egg in midair--
Fingers outstretched--
Closing in--
Just barely out of reach--
And--
With a mischievous grin, Wacker whipped out his pistol and fired at the large vulture. The bird squawked in surprise and clumsily tried to avoid the shot, which missed anyways. With his opponent tumbling in the air, Wacker grabbed the egg and tucked it close to his body as he landed on the ground and rolled with cat-like precision. He didn’t miss a beat as he continued running straight out of his roll. The bird squawked in anger as it righted itself and continued to chase Wacker through the narrow ravine.
Perfect.
Wacker fired his pistol at a seemingly random location on the side of the ravine. He heard a satisfying clink as the bullet hit its mark. Heartbeats later, just as the bird was about to soar past the same spot, traps sprouted from the side of the cliff, zapping the bird with a powerful jolt of electricity. It squawked and crashed into the ground. As the bird skidded towards him, Wacker tossed the egg high up into the air and, in one fluid motion, turned and drew his rifle from his hip, unleashing a volley of bullets at the great bird.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Shots echoed throughout the ravine, and soon, smoke filled the field of vision. Satisfied to see no more movement from the bird, Wacker holstered his rifle and opened his pouch wide, smoothly catching the egg he had previously tossed into the air. With a haughty chuckle, Wacker turned to saunter off, but the instant he did so, he heard a loud shriek.
The enraged bird of prey burst out of the smoke and slashed its claws across Wacker’s back. He had no time to react, and the claws passed through his body with a satisfying whoosh!
Whoosh?
The bird looked at where it had slashed, sure that it had hit its mark, but all it found was a pile of sand, trickling through its claws.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The bird felt three bullets ram into its side. It stumbled and hissed in pain as it looked at the source of the noise. There stood its prey, somehow dozens of meters away, with that disgusting smirk on its face. The bird roared in anger and charged towards the small creature, who turned and ran. The bird relentlessly followed, turning the corner to see that it had at last cornered its prey. The boy stood with his back to a semicircular cliff wall. It seemed that this was his campsite--the smoldering remains of a fire stood in the middle, and several bags of supplies and stolen goods lined the cliff wall.
This was the end.
The avian predator approached slowly, wary of the weapons that the boy carried, but also leaving the boy with no room for escape. The boy raised his rifle and pulled the trigger. The bird flinched, but there were no loud bangs.
He was out of ammo!
The bird roared victoriously and charged. In that instant, time seemed to slow down. The boy dropped his rifle and switched back to his pistol. As he aimed the weapon right at the bird’s face, his eyes seemed to glow in a golden haze, devoid of any fear and with an expression that could only be described as confidence. The bullet sailed smoothly out of the barrel, growing larger in the bird’s vision. But the bird shifted its head and narrowly avoided being hit. The bullet continued travelling through the air. It perfectly hit its mark, slicing through a thin thread too small for the eye to see.
Clink.

Clink. Clink.
ClinkClinkClinkClinkClinkClink-
The bird of prey realized its folly as, one by one, scores of traps sprung from their hiding places, glowing a fiery orange as they unleashed their power. In that instant, the bird saw its life flash before its eyes.
Or perhaps it was just thousands of volts of electricity.
Several minutes later, Wacker gleefully tore through crisp, juicy meat with his sharp teeth, savoring the delectable taste of a hard-earned meal. Before him, the carcass of the large bird hung over a fire on a spitroast, defeathered and gutted with practiced ease. Wacker took the large egg out of his pouch and smirked at it before tossing it over his shoulder. It rolled towards a pile of stolen goods, where dozens of other eggs lay.
He never knew how to eat one of those anyways.
##Short Lore (Placed down here because I’m evil >:D) Deep in the deserts of Shurima, predators fight for resources constantly, and survival is synonymous with war. Here in this battlefield, there is a peculiar area that locals refer to as the Devil’s Playground. Indeed, until several years ago, this area was once a bustling metropolis, flourishing with bountiful crop. But today it is a demented wasteland, warped and twisted by Void energies. However, the sight of this ghastly location brings not fear but relief to caravans, for it is known to be a quiet spot: sightings of predators are sparse in this area, and traders can relax easily in these parts. Unfortunately, trading groups that use this route often find that some of their stock mysteriously goes missing. Still, they continue using this route. It is only a small price to pay for safety.
The source of this peculiar phenomenon is none other than Wacker, the lone survivor of the lost city. The Void energies that destroyed his home also changed his body, giving him keener senses and quicker reflexes. Using his skill and wit, Wacker has managed to defeat the much larger predators that surround his territory, turning hunters into hunted one after another. Now, there is still one beast that he is curious to meet. That is the Void creature that appeared from the Void tear that destroyed his home. If he ever found its tracks again, Wacker swore he would follow them, even if they lead to the ends of Runeterra.
“The enemy is at their weakest when they think they’ve already won.” --Wacker
##Stats |--------------------------------|---------------------|--------------------|--------------------------------|---------------------------| |-- |Health:|480 (+85)| |Attack Damage:|46 (+2.2)| |Health Regen:|5 (+0.7)| | Attack Speed:|0.62 (+2.2%)| |Mana:|250 (+75)| | Armor:|12 (+2.5)| |Mana Regen:|6 (+0.9)| | Magic Resist:|30|
| Mov. Speed: | 340 | Range: | 485 |
|---|
These stats are pretty out-dated but the main point is that he’s about as squishy as Ezreal and his attack range is slightly shorter than Lucian’s. This is because he’s an ADC that relies on abilities rather than basic attacks.
#Abilities ##Passive: Hit And Run
After Wacker attacks an enemy champion, he gains 25 movement speed when moving away from that enemy for 3 seconds. This stacks up to three times.
Range: 1500
Notes:
- Stacks gained from multiple different champions do not stack. Instead, Wacker will take the movement bonus from the nearby champion with the highest number of stacks.

Wacker lines up a shot and then fires three bullets in quick succession. Each bullet deals 10/30/50/70/90 (+0.7 AD) (+0.2 AP) physical damage to the first enemy hit and applies on-hit effects. If all three bullets hit the same enemy champion or neutral monster, the cooldown of this ability is refreshed and the ability refunds 50% of its mana cost.
Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 Range: 1050 Wind-up: 0.5 Cast Time: 0.25 Shot Delay: 0.25 Wind-down: 0.5
Notes:
- Recasting this ability during wind-down will skip the wind-down animation as well as the following wind-up animation. (This means that Wacker cannot move in between casts if he chooses to continuously re-cast this spell but to compensate for this, the subsequent casts are faster)
- To make those timing numbers easier to understand, I will write out how this ability works: Cast ->0.5 seconds wind-up->0.25 seconds cast time->first shot->0.25 second delay->second shot->0.25 second delay->third shot->0.5 seconds wind-down. Wacker can skip the wind-down animation by moving or casting abilities.
- A warning indicator similar to Jinx’s Zap appears for this ability. However, the indicator is only visible to the enemy if they have vision of Wacker.

Wacker disperses magical dust into the air, protecting himself with a spell shield for 0.5/0.6/0.7/0.8/0.9 seconds. If the spell shield is broken, Wacker becomes stealthed for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds.
Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana Cooldown: 20/17/14/11/8 Cast Time: 0.0
Notes:
http://i.imgur.com/vS0pl9m.png ##(E) Burrowed Zap Trap
Wacker buries a visible Zap Trap that lasts for 120 seconds. The trap becomes camouflaged after 30 seconds and stealthed after 60 seconds. If an enemy champion steps on the trap, it disables and reveals them for 4 seconds.
- If Wacker attacks an enemy champion or neutral monster near a trap, it activates after a brief delay, dealing 50/90/130/170/210 (+0.5 Bonus AD) (+0.5 AP) magic damage to the enemy and slowing them by 25% for 2 seconds.
- If two traps activate on the same enemy, they are stunned for the same duration.
- Every trap beyond the second increases the stun duration by 0.5 seconds, up to a maximum of 3 seconds.
Enemies hit by more than one trap take 50% damage from every trap beyond the first.
Cost: 1 trap + 20/25/30/35/40 mana Cooldown: 0.5 seconds Recharge: 12/11/10/9/8 Charges: 2 Range: 600 Cast Time: 0.2 Arm Time: 1 Activation Delay: 0.75 Activation Range: 300 Attack Range: 400 Radius: 75
Notes:
- (Q) Desert Sting will activate traps on an enemy only if all three shots hit the same champion.
- Sweeper lense will not disable the traps but it will reveal them.
- Champions can escape the traps after they have been activated. Traps have a 0.75 second delay. If champions leave the trap’s attack range during that time, they will not be affected, and the trap will still be consumed.
- Traps count as AoE for the purposes of item interactions.

Wacker hones his weapons on a single enemy champion, granting his team vision of them for 6 seconds. During this time, Wacker treats their hitbox as though it were 100/150/200 units larger and deals 15%/20%/25% bonus damage to them. In addition, Wacker’s (Passive) Hit And Run also applies when he is moving towards this target.
Cost: 100 mana Cooldown: 80/70/60 Range: 750 Cast Time: 0.0
Notes:
- As basic attacks are calculated from hitbox edge to hitbox edge, this means that Wacker can also activate his traps at a greater distance, and the traps can also attack at a greater range. Of course, it is also easier to land skillshots on the targeted champion
##Recommended Build
As he relies on abilities for damage, Wacker will not be building attack speed or crit chance. Primary stats to build for are mana, attack damage, and cooldown reduction.
#Synergies
##Works well with...

Wacker and Heimerdinger make a deadly duo. Wacker's primary weakness is his inability to wave clear without his close-ranged auto-attack. Enter Heimerdinger, whose middle name is pushing. With Wacker's traps, the two can easily protect Heimerdinger's turrets from enemy divers, and if either of them lands a good stun on an enemy, then they'll be met with a volley of bullets and rockets right to the face.
Having a long-range three second snare is Wacker's dream come true. Snare one enemy and gun them down. Rinse and repeat. In addition, Morgana offers another spell shield, and they also have powerful close-ranged stuns in case anyone gets too close, making this duo a nightmare lane to gank.
##Is weak against...
Shooting a rapid-fire rifle is fun and all until Yasuo brings his wind wall to the show. Just stopping one of (Q) Desert Sting's bullets is enough to end Wacker's chain of damage. Not only that, but Yasuo can easily dash out of a trap's range after Wacker has activated it, and one spellshield certainly isn't enough to stop Yasuo's onslaught of whirlwinds.
One might be wondering how a champion with a spell shield could possibly consider Blitzcrank a threat. However, Wacker cannot use (W) Mirage Dust while (Q) Desert Sting is active. As soon as he opens fire, Wacker is vulnerable to Blitz hooks, and once he's been pulled out of the safety of his minefield, Wacker will have no way to peel enemies off of himself.
#General Thoughts
Wacker was inspired by two champions: Karma and Nidalee. I loved the idea of AP Karma because all her damage came from a single ability, and the other abilities simply made it easier for her to land that one ability. This is the inspiration for (Q) Desert Sting. Wacker has to rely on landing that ability in order to deal consistent damage. The inspiration from Nidalee came from when I watched my friend play the pre-rework Nidalee on Dominion. He would set traps all over the middle section of the map and hide in bushes. Whenever an enemy stepped on a trap, they would soon after be met with a spear right in their face. He never revealed himself unless it was to close in for the kill. Thematically, I thought that was amazing, but now that they’ve re-worked Nidalee, people just sort of throw spears at short range and pounce at you. This is where the idea for Wacker’s meticulous hunting and trap-setting playstyle came into play. From there, he just sort of evolved into what he is now. He can still poke with his (Q) Desert Sting, although its real damage output can only fully be realized when he’s in closer range. Wacker’s playstyle relies heavily on planning ahead and setting up traps in advance. Without his traps, he is extremely vulnerable. At the same time, the traps are not frustrating to play against like Teemo shrooms because Wacker has to be nearby in order for the traps to do anything harmful. As it turns out, he’s pretty good against divers and assassins, but weak against other ADC’s, who out-range him and can also easily dodge out of his attacks and traps.
