[Game Event Suggestion] Valoran at War

The following event references the family of champions here. This is a suggestion for a new event like the Bilgewater event or the Shurima event.

Valoran at War

Despite recent attempts to strive toward peace, a series of murders in both Demacia and Noxus have caused both City-States to rally their allies for war, and the whole of Valoran is poised to feel the scars of battle.

In this time of crisis, the first to come to Demacia's call to arms was Ionia, still seeking to stop the threat of Noxus and pay them back for the invasion years ago. Through Poppy, the Yordles of Bandle City have also declared for the western city-state.

Noxus called on its long-time ally Zaun, but as Demacia continued to gain support, they sought more inventive allies. Through the Black Rose's connection with the Spider Queen Elise, the might of the Shadow Isles has been mobilized against Demacia, threatening the western coasts of Valoran. They sought out Captain Fortune of Bilgewater, offering to pay her good coin to harry Ionian attempts to cross to the main continent.

Originally, the city of Piltover planned to remain neutral, but after an attack from Zaunite supporters, the city-state agreed to join the Demacian war effort.

This event will be broken into three stages.

Stage 1: The Titans Clash

In the first stage of Valoran at War, a new game mode on summoner's rift will become available. In this game mode, players will que to fight for either the Demacian Coolition or the Noxus War Effort.

In each game, players will be limited to the champions hailing from the two city-states and their allies. This results in a champion pool of roughly 35 champions to choose from for each side. Noxus has access to a few mercenary champions that may be willing to work for a place that prizes power over everything else to balance the numbers.

On the league website, players can declare for either faction, and as their faction earns victories worldwide (tallied and shown on the website) players will unlock Faction Icons to display.

Stage 2: Behind the Veil

It has become apparent that someone or something is manipulating the city-states of Valoran into all-out war. But who, and for what purpose?

For this stage, the Scuttles mobs in the river are replaced with shadowy operatives. When defeated, the operatives will be driven into your opponent's jungle (instead of granting vision), where they will place a hidden poison trap that will damage ANY champion walking over it. Traps will spawn in the part of the jungle nearest the defeated operative and prioritize areas with no champions.

In addition, the city-states of Zaun and Piltover have broken off from their respective factions and begun all out war between their cities. As a result, the champions from Zaun and Piltover are no longer selectable.

In this stage, players will piece together clues by winning games and defeating shadowy operatives. As they collect clues, they will receive pieces of a splash art for the purpetrators of the war. Upon completion, players will be given the ability to download exclusive desktop backgrounds of the event.

Stage 3: Valoran Divided

The individual behind the war has been revealed as Heinreich Von Gasspian, inciting the war the weaken the other city-states of Valoran. Unfortunately, the revalation has come too late, and the alliances have shattered giving way to all out war. Heinreich and the rest of the Gasspian family are released as playable characters.

In stage 3, all major powers in Valoran have begun to fight amongst each other. Instead of queing as the Demcian Coolition or Noxus War Effort, players will que as whichever faction they wish, and their faction will be randomly matched against another faction.

To ensure that competitive teams can be formed, a selection of “Mercenary” champions will be made available to all factions. In addition, while playing in the special game mode, players can play any champion as if they owned them to ensure all factions can be played.

In this stage, players will declare for their favorite powers, unlocking icons as they win games in their name. Players may champion any number of factions, eventually unlocking icons for every major power in Valoran with enough play time. Collecting all of the icons will unlock a special ward skin and loading screen banner.
