Mershaulk, the Tomb Guardian

A Shuriman Ascended modeled after a Serpent/Snake form. If there are any D&D players here, I envision him looking identical to a male Yuan Ti Abomination, with the upper body of a Human/Snake hybrid, and a serpentine lower body instead of legs/feet, and he would have some kind of armor/ceremonial dress in a Shuriman fashion.

Aiming this champion to be more of a Tank/Juggernaut instead of an infinitely scaling carry like Nasus, or a high sustain lane bully like Renekton. His strengths lie in extended skirmishes that allow him to build up his passive, or as an initiator to counter-engage as he has a rapid gap closer and a very gangerous potential for AoE Crowd Control from his passive/ultimate.

Passive: Venom of the Stone Serpent - Mershaulks basic attacks against enemy champions apply a stacking debuff to their target up to a maximum of 10 stacks. Each stack applies a minor movespeed slow(2% per stack) as the effects of the venom stiffen their bodies. When the targets reaches 10 stacks, they take (2% to 9% of their maximum health) true damage and turn to stone, stunned for 1.5 seconds. This effect cannot occur on the same target more than once every 30 seconds.

Pretty basic, the longer that Mershaulk is engaged in a fight, the more stacks he builds up until reaching the cap and gaining a pretty significant advantage.

Q: Serpents Strike - Mershaulk strikes swiftly at his opponent, dealing 5/15/25/35/45 (+100% AD) physical damage and applying on-hit effects as well as a stack of Venom of the Stone Serpent to enemy champions. If striking an enemy champion, half of the cooldown of Serpents Strike is refunded.

Mana Cost: 25 Cooldown: 10 seconds Range: 175

A similar attack modifier to Nasus's Q. In a prolonged engagement, this is his main source of damage and crowd control, via his passive, but it can also be used to last hit as the mana cost is pretty low.

W: Stone Fury Stance - Mershaulk gains passive resistances. He may activate this skill to to partially revert back into his stone guardian statue, taking reduced damage from the first champion attack or ability to strike him, then lashing out at them furiously in recoil.

Passive: Mershaulk gains 7/9/11/13/15% Bonus Armor and 7/9/11/13/15% Bonus Magic Resist. Active: Mershaulk becomes immobile but takes 30/35/40/45/50% less damage from all attacks for up to 3 seconds or until struck by an enemy champions basic attack or ability. If struck by an enemy champion during this time, he lashes out dashing towards them if within range. If he reaches his target Mershaulk gains maximum attack speed for his next two basic attacks made against them.

Mana Cost: 50 Cooldown: 19/18/17/16/15 seconds Dash Range: 750 units

Defensive tool, as well as powerful initiation tool. The Dash is not controllable, and you will charge the first enemy that provokes the retaliation.

E: Caustic Wall - Mershaulk exhales a solid wall of acidic vapors, which slowly moves forward over 5 seconds until it disperses. Enemies touched by the wall of vapors take 50/75/100/125/150 (+3/4/5/6/7% Bonus Health) magic damage and have their Armor reduced by 15/20/25/30/35% for 4 seconds. If an enemy comes into contact with the same wall multiple times, they don't take more damage, but the armor reduction duration is refreshed.

Mana Cost: Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 seconds Wall Width: 350/400/450/500/550 units

Follows very similar casting/particle effects as Yasuo's Wind Wall, but does not block projectiles, and travels a bit faster.

R: Guardian of the Sands - Mershaulk empowers himself for 15 seconds gaining 350/525/700 Bonus Health, 25% increased size, and increasing the Dash range of Stone Fury Stance to 1000 units. For the duration he is surrounded by a cloud of Venom of the Stone Serpent.

While empowered enemy champions within a small AoE around Mershaulk gain a stack of Venom of the Stone Serpent every second.

Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown: 120 seconds AoE: 200 units

The stereotypical transformation ult similar to Nasus and Renekton, although with a unique twist to fit the characters kit. This is Mershaulk's main tool that makes him super dangerous in team fights, as with the right build, he can take a ton of punishment and spread his stunning Passive around an entire team.

Ye have asked, and so shall ye shall receive!

Passive: Simple, yet effective. Strong effect, but takes time to ramp up. Don't forget to note the duration of the stacks, as well as if they fall off 1 at a time or all at once.

Q: It's simple but kind of stale. It's really just an ordinary AA enchancer. It needs something to make it stand out, to make it unique in its own right. Maybe adjust the base damage (stronger rank 1, weaker rank 5), but have it do damage based on the passive stack the target has. Or something like that.

W: The idea is nice, but it just feels.. lacking. It's hard to explain it. This is a move thats ONLY used defensively, which is fairly odd on a Juggernaut type champion. Remember, Juggernauts are supposed to be beasts of offense, wading through the enemy team, laughing all the while. Their defenses exist to enable that. This ability doesn't really fulfill that expectation, even with the reactive dash. I'd lower the cd, allow him to be mobile during it but with greatly reduced movement speed, and have it maybe some of the damage taken added to his next AA.

E: No real issues here, but I'd pull back the armor shred slightly. Armor reduction on a wide scale is much stronger than armor penetration, since multiple champions can benefit from it, and 35% is quite considerable.

R: Fits him quite well. You can probably afford to beef this up a bit, seeing as it doesn't have the innate aoe damage that Nasus's and Renekton's ultimates have. Your power budget can probably afford to slip in something small, like 1% damage reduction per passive stack in the area.

General: Definitely a solid idea. You know what you've envisioned, and you've done a great job bringing it out. Outside of a few tweaks and some slightly major changes to his W, you've got a very well done champion design.
