New game mode ideas
I assume this is the right board to post this. This is my idea of balanced and enjoyable game modes. If you have any other idea that fulfills these roles and that you want to share or recommend changes and tweaks in the ones mentioned below, please feel free to do so. In each game mode I add a flavor bonus of the Ziggs art since, if you didn't know every game mode has an art with Ziggs drawing himself doing the game mode things.
- Flashy moves: Everything works as normal. The only thing is you can't pick summoner spells. Instead you are given 2 flashes with a low (let's say 10 seconds) cooldown. This might be simple, but it would be awesome and fun. Not only do you get to practice your flashing dodges, aggressive flashes and generally flashy moves, but also team fights will be action packed. To spice it up I thought we could add some powerful game mode items:
- Flashlight ward : This ward reveals enemies in a cone in front of it.
- Blink Ward : Place a Blink Ward at target location. After a few seconds after placing it down and for as long as it remains active you can reactivate it to blink to it. (It goes away after that).
- Flashy boots : +Movement speed, UNIQUE ACTIVE: Dash a short distance on mouse direction. (the distance would be like aatrox's e I reckon)
- Light mirrored vest : +Health, +Health Regen, UNIQUE PASSIVE: +Shield Power, UNIQUE ACTIVE: Designate an allied champion as your Partner. Your partner gains the same stats from this item. Active it again to swap positions with your partner.
- Golden shining armor : +Armor, +Magic Resist, UNIQUE ACTIVE: Gain a shield based on your maximum health and gain increasing tenacity based on the damage taken for the next 5 seconds.
- Lightbringer : +Attack Damage, +Movement Speed, UNIQUE ACTIVE: Reset your attack timer. Your next attack critical strikes and burns the target for magic damage based on the damage dealt.
- Bright Rod : +Ability Power, +Cooldown Reduction, +Mana, UNIQUE ACTIVE: Launch a powerful lightning beam at target location dealing damage based on level and based on ability power. If you hit an enemy champion reduce the cooldown of your abilities and summoner spells by 1 second.
This might seem a bit too crazy and while surely it allows for looney moments it also allows for good plays. The support item can save a teammate. The mage item can be used for powerful combos. The tank item for survivability. The adc item for consecutive attacks. The shoes for dodge and the wards for baron/dragon initiate or revealing a baron/dragon from behind the wall.
~_**Art bonus**_: The game mode art would be Ziggs having cast flash multiply times leaving the after effect of flash behind him.
2) Ultimate Battle: Picks and bans remain the same. In this game mode everyone starts the game with the ULTIMATE BUFF. -ULTIMATE BUFF: Your ult is available from level 1 at rank 1. Your ult can reach rank 4. At rank 4 you can choose one of your other 3 abilities to become your ult in addtion to the ult you previously had. Every minute in the game reduces the cooldown of your ultimate by 1. Every kill reduces it by 3 and every assist by 1.5 down to a minimum of 10 seconds. Cooldown Reduction is counted after.
Quite simple. Originally, I wanted all your abilities to become ultimates even from different champions. The problem with that is that the models would look very weird. Imagine a Veigar pressing an Ahri ult. So instead I decided to make ultimates more frequent since just like with urf, ulting is fun.
~_**Art bonus**_: The game mode art would be Ziggs throwing his ulti all over the place.
3) Action Scene: Picks, bans per usual. Starting at the 3-minute mark an action scene will be taking place every minute and last 15 seconds. When the action scene happens, all players return to full health and mana. If you are dead, immediately respawn and gain a burst of movement speed for a short duration. Additionally, item, ability and summoner spell cooldowns are refreshed. During the time of the action scene the movement speed of all players is tripled and attack speed has no limit. There is a new item for this game mode: Plot Armor: +Armor, +Health, UNIQUE ACTIVE: For the next 5 seconds you are Turretproof.
~Art bonus: The game mode art would feature Ziggs on a pile of champion bodies with items in his hands (like a movie action scene, but with items instead of guns).
