#The Girl In the Junkyard Zaun and Piltover, cities that experiment and study to no end. How many experiments occur in the span of a single day? a week? a month? What do they do with all the failures, broken parts and accidents? Of course, they toss it all away, only to end up in the junkyard, home and birthplace of Beatrix.

Her mother was a teacher from Zaun. She was not afflicted with the madness of discovery at all costs but could not say the same for her students. Her father was a fairly successful mechanic in one of the districts of Piltover and was assigned to test a multi-tool wrench invented by the renowned Jayce, which he has kept to this day. Both had their place in their respective cities and yet they decided to leave that place, wanting a life different, but not far away. That is when they decided to claim ownership of the junkyard, located slightly outside of the cities' borders and build their lives there. Just barely one year later, the couple had their first child.

From the first moments of her life, Beatrix took a deep interest in her fathers garage. As a former mechanic, the man knew his way around machines and built all sorts of interesting gadgets to keep his daughter entertained. She absorbed more and more knowledge by watching him work until one day she astounded her parents by reanimating a decommissioned robot at the age of 10. Her mother decided to take it upon herself to nurture Beatrix' curious nature and home school her while her father decided to pass on his accumulated experience. The childs curiosity was apparently boundless and with each passing day, through trial & error in her fathers garage and the home schooling provided by her mother, Beatrix became more adept in the field of mechanics and robotics.

When Beatrix had reached adulthood, she felt as though she had learned all she could from her parents and the junk around her. Despite her mother's warnings, in her naivete Beatrix decided to try and enroll to an academy in Zaun, hoping to reach new heights in the field of automation in machines. Her interviewers, impressed with her mechanical prowess despite a lack of formal education, accepted Beatrix as one of their students. Despite the city's poor condition, having grown up with nothing but junk around her made it easy to adapt and at first, she enjoyed learning and tinkering with brand new equipment that was never accessible in her father's garage. It wasn't long, though, before the true nature of Zaun's scientists dawned upon her. She was exposed to the horrible sights of human augmentation, weaponizations and illegal experiments that were rampant throughout the city and yet her fellow classmates acted as if this were the norm. As time went on and the assignments given to Beatrix grew more horrific and revolting, she refused to follow them, eventually leading to her expulsion. Now seeking somewhere else to expand her knowledge, Beatrix set her sights to Piltover.

The difference was apparent the moment Beatrix stepped outside the elevator. An illustrious city, machines in every nook and cranny running it as perfect as clockwork. Everywhere was brimming with light, merchants were in abundance, and yet something felt off in her heart. Evidently, her countryside demeanor and style were very much out of place. Despite feeling the stares of the surrounding Piltovans, Beatrix was determined to apply for a college nonetheless. With the knowledge she gained in Zaun and her accumulated experience since childhood, Beatrix was just barely accepted. At first, being able to study with a guilt free conscience greatly motivated Beatrix, but the longer she stayed the more she stuck out like a sort thumb among her fellow students, not to mentioned without proper formal education she simply could not keep up with her studies. This situation lasted for nearly 8 months before Beatrix was expelled yet again.

Now, just like the junk, scrap and her parents, Beatrix headed the junkyard, rejected by both Zaun and Piltover. Though she felt this failure weighing heavily on her heart, the moment she stepped back into the junkyard, it was no longer the place she knew as a little girl. The piles of metal and wires didn't seem like worthless trash anymore, instead brimming with potential she never saw before and a sudden surge of emotions and thoughts flooded her mind like never before. Barely greeting her parents with her return, Beatrix immediately took to work. Taking her fathers trusted multi-tool wrench with her, she locked herself in the garage for nearly 4 days straight, only coming out when more pieces needed to be gathered. On the fourth day, her parents stood outside and called their daughter to come back out. As they did, the door slowly raised, revealing inside not just their daughter, but an additional 5 robots alongside her. Beatrix wore a smile so victorious on her face it it was like her spirit recovered and then grew tenfold. Now accompanied by nothing short of a small army of her owned creation, made of junk no less, Beatrix set out to show the world that it doesn't take reckless morals or fancy education to become a scientist, just a spark of passion and the willpower to follow it.

#What Does Beatrix Bring To The Table?

Beatrix is my own take of a utility tank. One of the biggest problems with supports today is that they're outright boring. Even as initiators, you just do the same repetitive and predictable combo. In order to solve this problem I decided to make Beatrix a very flexible and active support, giving you an assortment of playmaking options without giving you that "well, time to wait for this ability to cooldown" too much. I'll explain how this is implemented shortly.

Beatrix utilizes a unique resource. Instead of mana, she collects Scrap from any dead minion or enemy champion she helped killing. Scrap plays a huge part in Beatrix's kit because it is both a source of scaling as well as an expendable resource for certain skills. A passive Beatrix can stay back and collected Scrap only from her own minions, keeping her relatively safe, but a Beatrix that dares to also collect Scrap dropped between enemy minions waves will be rewarded by having higher scaling on her abilities due to the extra Scrap.

Now that I've covered her most basic mechanic, I want to address how I implemented an anti-boredom "wait for cooldown" play style. One of the first robots I designed was Jorgen, who's purpose is to defend a single ally by absorbing some of their incoming damage. As a mechanic, Beatrix can expend a certain amount of Scrap and repair Jorgen, restoring his health. Another form of expenditure is maintaining Scrap at 20% or higher in order to passively spend some of it to gain a drone stack. By constantly having to play between gathering and expending Scrap, there's almost never a dull moment for you, especially in the early game.

The other problem I addressed earlier, boring skill combinations, is addressed via the workings of her active and innate abilities. All of Beatrix's active abilities give initiation power to her ally more than herself. By placing Jorgen to absorb damage and a drone to dish out damage on a single ally, as well as a drone on yourself, your ally is likely the one to confidently charge in head-first into combat instead of you, with good reason. However, that is not to say Beatrix doesn't have any engaging potential herself. When one of her robots is destroyed, she can pick up the core left behind the same way she gathers fallen Scrap. These cores grant Beatrix a shield, a heal or a stun to her next basic attack, depending on the core she picked up.

Upon reaching level 6, your true potential shines. Your ultimate means you are no longer limited to the Scrap dropped by others and gain 1% max Scrap per second. This is to counter the inherent problem of Scrap being reliant on dead things to gather, which won't happen as often during the mid game where the focus is objective control. Additionally this skill can be as powerful as you decide. It costs 50% max Scrap to use, but keep in mind Scrap is not just a resource, it is also a source of power for your skills, meaning the more patiently you wait and gather Scrap, the more powerful your next boosted ability will become.

Beatrix's Base Stats Health: 600 – 2096 Health Regen: 7.5 – 23.3 Attack Range: 150 Attack Damage: 56 – 112 Armor: 27 – 83.1 Magic Resist: 32.1 – 53.4 Movement Speed: 335

Passive - One Mans' Junk Junk - Every 4th (friend or foe) non champion unit that dies near Beatrix will drop 15/20/25 (upgrades at level 7/13) Scrap for her to pick up by being near it (within melee range). Beatrix can store up to 150/200/250 (upgrades at level 7/13) Scrap. Enemy champions that Beatrix killed or assisted in killing will instantly drop double the amount of Scrap. Scrap remains on the ground for up to 6 seconds before disappearing. Jungle monsters do not drop Scrap.

Core - Whenever one of Beatrix's robotic companions is destroyed or its duration is over, it will drop its hex core for Beatrix to pick up within the next 6 seconds by standing near it (melee range, same as Scrap).

Jorgen's Core - Grants Beatrix a shield equal to 10/12.5/15% her max health for 6 seconds. Drone's Core - Beatrix's next basic attack against an enemy unit within 10 seconds will stun them for 1/1.25/1.5 seconds. Cannot be applied to the same enemy again for the next 5 seconds. No more than 3 cores can be loaded. Carlotta's Core - Heal Beatrix by 10/15/20% her missing health and nearest ally champion by 30% that much.

**Q - Call: Jorgen ** Cooldown 15 seconds (after Jorgen is destroyed) Cast Range: 800 units. Beatrix summons Jorgen the Coldhearted to bond with the targeted ally until destroyed. While bonded, Jorgen will absorb 10/15/20/25/30% premitigation damage dealt to his ally. Jorgen cannot attack but can be directly damaged by attacks and skills like normal units. Enemies that basic attack Jorgen or his bonded ally will have their attack speed reduced by 15% for 1 second. If Jorgen and Beatrix are more than 1500 units away for 3 seconds, Jorgen deactivates (no longer absorbs damage). After 1 minute in this state Jorgen will self destruct. Any form of hard crowd control (Root, Stun, Displacement, etc.) affecting Jorgen will deactivate him for 2.5 seconds. This effect does not stack and does not happen again for another 4 seconds after Jorgen reactivates. While Jorgen is active, this skill becomes Command: Jorgen.

Q - Command Jorgen Cooldown 7 seconds Cast range on Jorgen: 200 units. Cast range on ally: 800 units. If cast on Jorgen, 10% of your current Scrap will be used to repair Jorgen for 15% of his max health. If cast on an ally, Jorgen will bond with his new target without being healed.

Jorgen's Stats Health: 200/250/300/350/400 (+50% your bonus health) Armor: 40/45/50/55/60 (+10% your armor) Magic Resist: 30/35/40/45/50 (+10% your magic resist)

W - Call: Drone Brother Cost 1 Stack, Cooldown 1.5 seconds between casts Active Cast Range: 700 units. Drone Attack Range: 300 units. Passive - As long as Beatrix has more than 20% maximum Scrap, she will consume 10% of her current Scrap every 5 seconds seconds to add a stack of Drone Ready, up to 3 max.

Active - Beatrix calls one of the Drone Brothers, Axel, Butch or Crash, to follow behind an ally for 20 seconds. The drones deal 4/8/12/16/20 (+2% your bonus health)(+10% your current Scrap) magic damage to the closest enemy champion. Beatrix can only place one drone on a single ally and only 3 can be active at all times. Drones cannot be targeted by skills but can be destroyed after 2 basic attacks. If their ally is rooted or stunned, they cease firing until the effect is over. If two or more drones are within firing range of each other, their attacks become an electric shock that slows their target by 30% for 1 second. A second shock will slow enemies by 60% for an additional 1 second and a third shock will stun them for 0.75 seconds. Enemies cannot be stunned or slowed by this again for the next 6 seconds. Note: Drones have an attack speed of 0.5 - 0.75 based on this ability's level.

E - Call: Carlotta Cooldown 16 seconds (after Carlotta is destroyed) Cast Range: 500 units. Heal Range: 600 units. Beatrix calls down Carlotta the Nurse to a target location for 8 seconds to constantly heal Beatrix and nearby ally champions in a short range by 10/20/30/40/50 (+10% your current Scrap)(+1% your max health) every second, increasing by 1% per 1% their missing health. Carlotta has 3 HP and can only be targeted by basic attacks.

R - Junkyard Overdrive No Cooldown (requires 50% Scrap to activate) Cost - Atleast 50% max Scrap Passive - Beatrix gathers Scrap passively at a rate of 1% maximum Scrap per second.

Active - For the next 5 seconds, the next basic ability Beatrix will cast will become boosted, using up all her Scrap. If no boosted ability is cast, no Scrap is used and this ability goes on a 3 second static cooldown.

Overdrive: Jorgen - Summon Jorgen for 6 seconds with double max health and bonus armor and magic resist equal to 50% of the Scrap consumed. While in this state, Jorgen will absorb double the amount of damage for his ally, Beatrix is prevented from casting Command: Jorgen and his bonded ally is slowed by 5%. If Jorgen is already active at the time Junkyard Overdrive is invoked, you may cast this ability on Jorgen or an ally. This will grant Jorgen the same stat boosts and also heal him for (% of max Scrap used)% of his max health after it is boosted. When the effect is over, Jorgen will be destroyed.

Overdrive: Drone Brothers - Break the drone placement limit, placing a drone on yourself and all nearby allies for 3/4/5 seconds. These drones are boosted and deal (% of max Scrap spent x 1.5)% increased damage to nearby enemy champions (75 - 150% damage increase). While active, Beatrix is unable to cast Call: Drone Brother. When the effect is over, all the drones will be destroyed. If more than 3 drones are summoned, only the three closest to Beatrix will drop a core. Note: Any ally champion within 1100 units of you gains a drone. If they had a drone beforehand, it is replaced with the new boosted drone and does not drop a core.

Overdrive: Carlotta - Summoning Carlotta grants a shield equal to (100/110/120% Scrap used) (+5% your max health) to all allied champions near her for 4 seconds. If Carlotta is already active, this skill will reposition her before granting the shield (using the same range parameters of Call: Carlotta). After this ability is used Carlotta's healing is calculated with 0 Scrap and her active duration ins increased by 4 seconds.

Ok, so here is my few criticisms on your concept.

  1. Jorgen should be directly damageable. Also, if he dies, it should put the ability on an increased timer until he respawns. This timer could be affected by cooldown reduction, and would either be the abilities cooldown, or would be shown as an effect over the HUD and Q cannot be cast until the effect ends.

  2. You should NOT be able to attach multiple drones to the same target at the same time.

  3. Going off of that, make all of these (Q, W, and E) require stacks. Stacks will NOT recharge while their unit is currently alive/attached to a target, only once the unit dies. There needs to be a time limit in which the bots are forced to leave their target, and if they survive the whole time and come back, the stack is instantly refreshed rather than recharging with a timer.

If you cast Jorgen when you have a Jorgen stack(no Jorgens are out), he goes to the ally. When you have no Jorgen stacks but Jorgen is already out, casting on an ally without Jorgen moves Jorgen to the new ally. If you have no Jorgen out and no Jorgen stacks, you Q cannot be cast until your Jorgen stack regenerates.

Your W would have 3 Brother stacks, from what I understand(correct me if I'm wrong), with up to 3 brothers being out at once. If you cast on an ally that doesn't already have a brother, and you have an available brother stack, it sends out a brother. If you cast on an ally that doesn't already have a brother, and you don't have an available brother stack, moves the first brother you sent out from its original target to the new target. If you don't have any brothers out, and you don't have any brother stacks, brother is not castable.

Your E would only have 1 stack, like Jorgen, and all behaviors for casting woul dbe the same as I said about Jorgen.

For all three casting the bots corresponding ability on them heals them. Casting a different ability on a target who already has a bot will return the old bot and send out the bot for whichever ability you used. When this bot returns, it acts as if the time limit ran out, returning its stack without having to respawn.

  1. Your ultimate is perfectly fine how it is, but scrap should be your entire resource system rather than just a tool for the ult. So going off of this stack system, I think whenever a robot fully dies, it costs 15 scraps or so to make it start regenerating again.

EDIT: I just realized you already had a stack system on drone brothers. Oh well, my change still smoothens the kit out a little bit.

The first thoughts that jump out at me.

Concept: It's a cool concept which plays a bit into the Inventor archetype like Heimerdinger, but is separate from it by having the "junk" aspect to it.

Abilities:

  • The drones deal 4/8/12/16/20 (+3% max health) magic damage to the closest enemy champions, with an attack speed of 0.67.

Let's compare to the other ability you gave as a reference point, Elise's Spiderlings, as well as another similar ability, Heimer's Turrets. I'm going to give the Elise the AP stats from both a Tank Elise build, and a DPS Elise build, and the Heimer will get a standard end game AP. Note I haven't factored anything about Magic Resistance, either for the tank, or for the "attackers."

Assuming a Max Level, I will give Beatrix two targets. A Max-Level Alistar (with standard support-tank health) and a Max-Level Caitlyn (with only Base Health.) Alistar has: Base Health (2415.36) + Eye of the Equinox (500) + Frozen Heart (0) + Locket of the Iron Solari (0) + Randuin's Omen (500) + Righteous Glory (500) + Boots (0) Health = 3915.36

(Target: Alistar) Beatrix Drone DPS: 20+(.03 x 3915.36) x 0.67 = 92.10 DPS Per Drone DPS With 3 Drones: 276

(Target: Caitlyn) Beatrix Drone DPS: 20+(.03 x 1884.4) x 0.67 = 51.28 DPS Per Drone DPS With 3 Drones: 154

215 AP Elise Spiderlings DPS: 25+(.15 x 215) x 0.67 = 38.36 DPS Per Spiderling DPS With 5 Spiderlings: 192

560 AP Elise Spiderlings DPS: 25+(.15 x 560) x 0.67 = 73 DPS Per Spiderling DPS With 5 Spiderlings: 365

600 AP Heimer Turrets DPS: 34+(.15 x 600) x 1.75 = 217 DPS Per Turret DPS With 3 Turrets: 651

So, it's pretty fair to say the Drones' damage is just about on par with a Tank Elise's Spiderlings against a Squishy champ, and quite a deal better against a Tank.

Of course, we would never expect them to reach the damage output of a Heimer turret or an AP Elise's spiderlings, since... well... it's a Support ability for a Tanky support.

But now, let's apply that to an "in lane" standard, to see what one or two Drones is gonna do against an enemy Caitlyn at Level 5 (which gives her 772 Health)

(Target: Caitlyn) Beatrix Drone DPS: 20+(.03 x 772) x 0.67 = 29 DPS Per Drone DPS With 2 Drones in Lane: 58

That's a heck of a "trade winner", especially since it's free attacks at a range, and when given the context of the rest of the kit (Jorgen reducing at least 10% of your carry's damage taken and either a 10 Health/Second [minimum] heal OR an AP/AD Steroid of at least 10% of your current Scrap.) And of course, if anyone attacks Jorgen they get a -25% movement speed penalty, and an ultimate that can be constantly cast as long as you have at least 1 Scrap, which means a bare minimum of almost-constant up-time on one of the Overdrives, just because you can... so double the Damage Reduction on your Carry, or a lesser uptime (but frequent use) Team-Shield, or the ability to constantly give your entire nearby team a Drone with 1.5x(Scrap Used) Bonus Damage, on top of their already decent damage output.

The fact that you don't have anything in the way of "direct offense" other than putting a drone on yourself means you aren't likely to 1v1 anybody, and pretty much need a teammate to make stuff happen, but once you have that teammate (or more), nobody's gonna be able to push you out of lane, and you're gonna win trades as long as your teammate (usually your ADC) is competent.

My biggest concern is the lack of a Cooldown on the Ulti which makes Jorgen's Overdrive Spammable (even if you only have 1 scrap picked up, you'll be able to at least double the damage reduction effect for the duration), and the same goes for giving all of your nearby teammates a Drone of their own. Man, looking at the numbers on that, if they were all firing on a tank or a max level Cait (again, at max level values?)

(Target: Alistar) Beatrix Drone DPS: 20+(.03 x 3915.36) x 0.67 = 92.10 DPS Per Drone DPS With 5 Drones: 460.5 DPS

(Target: Caitlyn) Beatrix Drone DPS: 20+(.03 x 1884.4) x 0.67 = 51.28 DPS Per Drone DPS With 3 Drones: 256.0 DPS

So, in essence, somewhere between 250 and 460 DPS with very little of a "counterplay" measure other than "avoid the enemy team when Beatrix is around" or try to kill them off (not really that feasible in a Teamfight, where you're dealing guaranteed periodic damage originating from every member of your team, regardless on if they're stunned/CC'd or running away, as long as they are in range.

So that brings me to this question: What is the Drone's "attack range"?

If it's even close to an Auto-Attack range for any of League's ranged champions, that's pretty beast. It basically means you've got a support tank who doesn't have to land skill shots or anything to make their team outdamage the other team, and to win a Team-Fight through attrition, all while protecting your carry from damage and even healing them or giving them an additional damage steroid.

While Beatrix does little damage of her own, (team full of turrets at higher levels notwithstanding) what she fails to bring in terms of CC, she makes up for by buffing her team's damage output pretty significantly, and her ability to protect a Carry is pretty solid.

I lament the fact that I'm not sure how to balance it entirely, because with her lacking CC, she doesn't have the typical "Tank" gameplay... she can build tanky to soak up damage, but she has no Initiation or Peeling potential. For all intents and purposes, she seems like a straight up Support who could build straight tank to never die, or add in some AD to make the enemy think twice about letting her waltz into their back line. She has no incentive to build AP (since nothing seems to scale off of it) and most of her scaling is off of Max Health, so building things like Randuins Omen, Righteous Glory, Eye of the Equinox, Dead Man's Plate, Spirit Visage, etc will be beneficial to her.

Another question would be: Is her gameplay fun?

Nothing really forces her to interact with the enemy, other than standing as a meat shield in front of the carry she's protecting. In fact, almost everything she does revolves around casting something on a Teammate or one of the robots, and nothing really directly interacts with the Enemy (other than her positioning if she's got a Drone on her.) Unless she builds some damage, they're going to only fear her Drone damage, not so much her Auto-Attack damage. If she ever gets caught out, she's basically enemy chow as long as they can damage her hard enough. She doesn't have much "play making" ability on her own, and as such she is entirely team-reliant for making plays... And the best plays she's probably going to make are good Righteous Glory -> Randuins -> Junkyard Overdrive + Call: Drone Brother to soak up some damage and CC initially while the rest of your team abuses positioning and CC to mow the enemies down (hopefully, since if they didn't bring CC, your team is going to suffer heavily in trying to properly engage a team fight.)

I'd like to see it in action to see if I was missing something about the kit, or failing to consider something... but my biggest bit of feedback comes down to the following.

  1. I don't know how fun she will be to play, since there's almost no enemy interaction.
  2. She could be a powerful pick for a strong ADC player/partner, but a weaker lane partner would suffer without a Support to "make plays happen."
  3. I would highly reconsider shifting something around to put at least some kind of real CC in her kit. Something to let her properly engage or disengage a fight, or to make her (herself) a threat to the enemy team.

Of course, feel free to let me know if I'm missing something on this. I've tried to think it through as logically as I could, but of course, never seeing the champ in action, it's often not the easiest thing to grasp what someone else is pitching. So if I've got it way off, I'm all ears and happy to converse more about it.

On the plus side? I do like the concept of the character. I like her lore/feel/theme. I like the idea that "Scrap" as a mechanic plays into the "junk bots" thing, though I kind of almost wish there was more play with the fact that the bots are built out of junk... giving them spikes of power, but short lifetimes (as they eventually explode or malfunction, or stuff like that.) But maybe that aspect could simply be played up in the art department. I think the direction and concept is well thought out. These are just my thoughts, so take them as you like. :P

Alright so sense you looked at my champion, I am going to do a solid and look over yours. Just note I am not the best with lore, so I tend to go over the kits. Anyways lets begin this Nifty Review.

Passive

So at this point I have already looked over everything. Now I get what you are going for in the scrap mechanic, having her damage scale with scrap she collected. Though having nothing of hers scale of any offensive stats is a rather bad thing. Not that in concept it is a bad idea, but for the current stat for the game. Reason being is because of a certain aspect, Jungle Buffs or more specifically Dragon and Barron. Infernal Drake and Barron Buff provide increases to offensive stats, which Beatrix here wouldn't get any benefit from. These objectives are pretty crucial to all champions and this Junkyard Bastion shouldn't be left out. Now even adding a small amount of scaling for either AP or AD could actually fix the problem. Though I should also mention about the Scrap mechanic. One thing is that it is pretty strange on its own. When I think of Scrap it is used to create new things or fix old ones. Now I see that the Q does have the fixing part, but I also noticed it actually doesn't cost anything to create a drone. Instead all the scrap is used to increase damage. This just doesn't make sense to me. As well for gameplay this is rather boring, just collecting scrap to increase effectiveness of the drones. Now collecting scrap to create and maintain drones isn't that bad of an idea. Just a suggestion. For the aspect of the drone cores, I really don't mind this actually. It is nice being able to recover a core and use it to bring about a desired effect. Storing up to three stun basic attacks maybe a bit strong, but I haven't seen if she is a ranged attacker or not. Depends on if that is the case or not.

Q

Alright the Q I actually really like. A drone that provides damage reduction to an ally but takes the mitigated damage in place of them. Now here is one thing about damage mitigation like this in game. So stuff like Bond of Stone, and Knights Vow make it so that all the damage mitigated comes back as true damage. This way the one who is actually taking the damage will actually suffer as well. With the amount of health that Jorgen will be getting, making all damage taken as true damage might be a good way to balance this. Just because if paired up with everything, it could be up to 48% damage reduction just being provided by Beatrix here if she has Bond of Stone and Knight's Vow. That is pretty scary especially if put on a carry. Which is why having Jorgen take the damage as true damage might be a bit healthier. Plus it would allow you to take of his armor and magic resist stats seeing as he can't be targeted himself. The being able to repair Jorgen is awesome in a sense. Though you are spending a low amount of scrap to repair 5% of his maximum health. Maybe you could change it around a bit. Like have it cost a percentage of scrap and health flat health based on the amount of scrap consumed. Like 20% of current scrap is used to heal 5/7/9/11/13 health for every piece of scrap, it would be 50 scrap at max. At max it would heal for 650 which is quite a bit but it would be more it would leave a bit more of an impact at max scrap then maybe 52 HP at the cost of 10 scrap every 8 seconds. Then again this is a suggestion I am throwing out there, you don't have to keep the numbers I presented.

W

From the get go I did read that you want Beatrix to allow her allies to initiation power. Though with this ability here I don't exactly see it. Much like the Q I see these drones more as protector bots. Instead of providing protections you have these bots deal damage instead to those who come near. I feel as though it isn't actually enough to really be deemed offensive here even if you provided multiple shots to stun and slow. To get these to really work you would have to build a team around Beatrix. What you could do is simply allow the drones to attack a long with the bonded ally, like when the ally attacks so do the drones. Now you can keep the drones current attack speed so that it isn't too strong. Though this can make it so that a coordinated team could work together. Like if you need to focus on a target, her team makes whether they be ranged or melee could target one person. If they have the drones on them then that provides the cc for working together. No one is left out and she successfully supports her team. Going down this route would mean you would have to make some changes but once again this is a suggestion.

E

Overall this next ability isn't a bad one. Sure if heals for a 400 base but it is done over the course of 8 seconds. Pretty balanced if I say so myself. Here might be a quality of life change though. If you decide to change up the scrap mechanic to have it cost scrap to create the bots, you can have the scrap scaling be off the scrap consumed instead of current scrap. Having it be off current scrap means revolving scaling over the duration can be annoying for the numbers stand point. Though I like this ability non the less.

R So the ultimate is basically over powering a selected bot of Beatrix's choice. In concept this is a good idea now it makes me go over every aspect of the ability.

Alright the passive portion makes her start generating scrap out of no where. This is a bit odd to say the least. I feel like having this would make it so she would constantly have maximum scrap, at least with how her scrap mechanic currently functions. Now being able to produce the stuff out of no where considering that scrap is a physical thing, may not be the best way to go. Instead you could just make the passive here be like, "Picking up a Core also provides Beatrix with Scrap." It would make more sense then her gaining it out of nothing.

For Jorgen you got an increase to the amount of health he has, plus the armor and magic resist is increased by the amount of the scrap used. Not only that but it absorbs double the amount of damage giving to the bounded ally. This is massively powerful boosting her potential damage reduction on an ally to 78%. Its scary to say the least. Now I did already suggest changes to the original ability and these next suggestions are going to be based of those. Sense the fact that Command Jorgen is disabled during this, you can't switch it to another ally. Unfortunate really, but you can instead make it that Overdrive Jorgen would double its health and then provide its damage reduction ability to all allies around the bounded ally. This give her some more team presence without making a carry unable to be killed.

The drone Overdrive is pretty dang fitting. Basically she calls in the whole squad to accompany every one. If you put on the suggested changes from earlier I feel like it would be even more perfect.

Overdrive Carlotta provides a pretty damned big shield to those being constantly healed within its area. Putting a heal and a shield together is incredibly strong. Now that one thing that separates Carlotta from the others it that she doesn't explode upon the Overdrive ending. Honestly if the shield has its current state then I would say that making her explode at the end would be a good idea. Its either that or you can have a weaker shield applied every other heal sense she doesn't explode. Hopefully that makes sense.

Overall

Going for a champion that has absolutely no offensive stats to scale off isn't the best thing to do for the current state of the game, even if it is for a tank/support champion. I feel as though the scrap mechanic isn't properly utilized here. There are a few things that can be done to make it more fluid for game play. The abilities aren't bad, I feel like they are thought out quite well. The Overdrived versions aren't that bad either for the current state of the champion. Though these are just my thoughts. Hopefully this helps out a bit.

First off, the Lore. I like the general direction of the lore, it fits together pretty well. The things I can think of suggesting are perhaps a couple examples of things that she found abhorrent while in Zaun, rather than generically having no moral compass. The other thing I can think of is, what kind of goal does she have in place now? She’s an inventor, but what does this entail? Does she have any specific way to show the world what it means to be a good scientist?

With regard to her mechanics…

The passive collection is nice, similar to thresh, but translated into a much more immediate resource. However, it sounds like she doesn’t have many expenditures of Scrap besides her ultimate. This isn’t necessarily bad because it works mostly like Fury for Shyvana.

This is a comment on all of the abilities, but there’s no Range listed on any of them as to where you can call them down. Carlotta, for example, is a significantly different skill if you can cast her only within 150 units of your location, or 750 across the lane, or 2500 into the dragon pit. Also, do the robots (Jorgen, Carlotta, Drones) give any gold on kill?

Also also, I feel like the robots bonded to allies need to share CC with the allies. There will be many tears from players who meant to click their stun on the ADC, but instead clicked Jorgen, and waste an ability doing literally nothing.

For her Q, Jorgen, I can feel the scariness on this ability. It doesn’t have a leash range, and sticks to the ADC until destroyed, so it’s like giving the adc a permanent free 800 HP (that’s weak to AoE). I don’t think this is necessarily a huge issue, especially since there’s no way to dismantle a low HP Jorgen to start the CD to get a Full HP Jorgen (spare using her Ultimate).

Q: Command Jorgen however, is never going to feel good. Presuming you manage to get 3000 Bonus HP as a support, you’re going to heal Jorgen for less than 60 HP. The impact is so minimal it may as well not exist.

It can add up to a healthy repair once you hit 6 and get a scrap stream going, and I get that it’s balanced around sustaining it through the laning phase. I still think a larger burst of healing on a longer cooldown would be more fun in all situations. It’ll feel like less of a waste of concentration in a teamfight, and less of a clicking chore during lane. I’d personally suggest changing the heal to 5% of Beatrix’s Max HP, and increasing the cooldown if necessary to prevent Lane Sustain Abuse.

For her W, Drone Brother, the 30% generates stacks, but is this specifically at the 30%, 60%, and 90% breakpoints? Wherein if you manage to get 60% scrap, then spend down to 55%, then boost up to 60%, you get another stack?

As for the automatic drone generation, I’m guessing this works independently of the cooldown itself and places the drone on herself, but what if she already has a drone or is at her drone cap? Does it just immediately spend your scrap automatically whenever possible, creating a drain whenever you’re over 70% Max Scrap?

I feel like this skill is going to run into the Pre-Rework Karma problem regarding the empowered zapping. It wants two of your champions to stick within 300 units of each other, and then for both of you to charge at an enemy champion. Sure, you can just stick to your ally but I can see clarity problems arising from your ally being unsure what to do, and the enemy having no idea when or how the Drone Stunned them.

Her E, Carlotta, I mostly like, with the exception of the weird oddity that if the enemy team zones you away from Carlotta, then they actually want to avoid killing her, as it gives you the cooldown back sooner, which is entirely unintuitive. Also, does her passive core heal the nearest ally or nearest allied champion for 30%?

For the ultimate, she gathers 1.5/2/2.5 per second, and I think this is meant to reflect 1% of her Scrap Total, but her scrap goes to 200 at rank 6, and 250 at rank 11. Is this intended, or a number oddity?

Also, I get the feeling that as things are written now, her Q will be used in 95% of cases. That’s perfectly fine, Heimerdinger R has a dominant “use R-Q in 99% of cases” too. But this ultimate basically reads “Give target ally 60% Damage Reduction for 6 seconds”.

Jorgen will sit at 800 Max HP +50% of your Bonus hp, and let’s say you built 1200 Bonus HP, meaning Jorgen has 1400 Max HP, meaning 4900 Effective HP. If you spent 200 Scrap to make him, he’ll be sitting with about 250 Resists. Since Jorgen lets through 40% of the damage, the ADC can Lifesteal the 40% taken damage while Jorgen is soaking. An ADC with 100 Resist and 2000 Max HP (top end case), will have 4000 Effective HP.

What this means is that if you sit an ADC protected by Jorgen in front of a whole team and blast him with damage, the ADC falls over before Jorgen implodes. Sure, Lifesteal and Shields can make the adc live longer relative to Jorgen, and AoE hits Jorgen for double, but the more realistic case is a 50 MR adc v a 30 flat pen mage (2400 Effective HP).

I’m not sure what to suggest, or even if this needs to be changed, but in the current state, I can totally see her being balanced around this fact similar to how Kayle is balanced around giving the ADC damage immunity for 2-3 seconds. Beatrix isn’t a selfish champion like Kayle though, so this isn’t nearly as problematic.

Whew. That was fun. Some number crunching, and some good ideas. I like the direction and the drive.
