Yorick Rework Ideas and Kit, a true necromancer.
I am just an avid league of legends player that loves and appreciates the design that goes behind champions. With the recent champion updates I know what is possible for Yorick and have brainstormed a couple ideas. Feedback and crticism is appreciated.
I realize the rework is probably pretty far down the line, and may be going in a completely different the direction but I just wanted to share my ideas as I believe this will make yorick an enjoyable and balanced champion.
Yorick - The Gravedigger
*All numbers and values should be changed and tested obviously, this is just my rough idea of what I believe would be balanced.
*My idea is that rather than use mana or energy, Yorick will use the bones he collects to casts his spells. The idea behind this being that a necromancer requires materials to practice the necromancy.
_*Yorick will start the game with his ultimate available, as it will require enough bones to be able to cast it. _
**Passive - Gravedigger ** Yorick will passively collect bones from dead minions, monsters, pets, and champions and store them so he can dig the graves later. The piles of bones will only last for a few seconds whenever something dies, so he needs to be sure to collect the bones quickly, which will add counterplay to yorick as the lane opponent can zone and attempt to prevent yorick from collecting bones. Minions and small monsters - 1 bone Large Monster - 2 bones Champions - 5 bones
Q - Death Defied 2 bones - 10 second cooldown
Yorick revives a recently killed minion (while the pile of bones still are on the floor and have not been picked up). And turns it into a ghoul. The ghoul lasts for 30 seconds and can be controlled by Yorick, but must stay close to him. The type of ghoul created is dependent on the type of bones you used, so a caster minion would provide a ranged ghoul that does AP damage. It has slightly increased health, damage, and ability power scaling with Yorick's health, damage and ability power. This means that a full tank Yorick can create tanky ghouls, and a full AP Yorick can create stronger caster ghouls to help him. This allows Yorick a variety of different playstyles which allows him to be a valid pick in almost every game.
With increase in ranks, the duration on the ghoulsand the amount of ghouls Yorick can revive with one cast is increased. At max rank, yorick should be able to revive 4 ghouls for 60 seconds.
W - From the grave 5 Bones - 14 second cooldown
Yorick summons the dead to snare his enemies in an AoE and deal damage to them. If Yorick locks enough enemies for the dead to grasp, the ghouls will rise from their graves and begin attacking. Basic AoE stun for his kit with a twist, to make it a good escape and utility for lane, but great for teamfights. The ghouls summoned will be the same as the ones summoned for the ultimate.
E - Life of another 2 Bone per summoned ghoul/minion (maximum number of possible bones consumed if cast) - maybe no cooldown if balanced right, or a short cooldown.
Yorick consumes all possible summoned ghouls and minions and heals for 10% of their maximum health.
R - Army of the Dead 50 Bones - No Cooldown
Yorick summons 10/15/20 ghouls to fight for him. They prioritize champions and are truly an army of the dead. Since there are so many of them, they would need a lot of balancing and work to make it just right, When combines correctly with his w and even q, he should be a monster in teamfights. The ghouls should scale with his health and damage. Making a bruiser yorick the ideal build. The ghouls will last for 30/45/60 seconds after being summoned and work like a horde.
Those are my thoughts. A little overpowered and although I love the idea of the q to provide different types of ghouls based on the minion you revive, it might be hard to keep track of which bones come from which type of minion unless you color them or something. Hard to balance, but I believe in riot. Let me know if you have any feedback or concerns.
