How do i start to learn digitatal painting

Hi, I have a question for most of you that have experience with digital painting. im currently going into highschool and i have been drawing for 7 years on paper. Recently i have been trying to use Photoshop with a Wacom Tablet. I know how to work my way around the program but i cant figure out how to digtaly paint. Even though im young and theres a big chance this thought is going to change, i want to become a graphic designer when im older, and i thought why not start now. If that thought still continues this game would be my dream job to draw for. So what im asking is how did u guys learn to paint in photoshop. I have tried to learn myself but it doesnt seem to work out right. Thank you for your time.
