Morgana and Kayle rework (constuctive feedback + suggestions)
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (It's finally here!)
I am so excited for the rework; the lore, the skins, the vfx and the gameplay. The torment of waiting 6 months is worth it! The trailer is beautiful btw. Kayle is perfect from head to toe. Morgana is dazzling as well! I can't wait to see Morgana's "sinful succulance" and Kayle's "Iron inquisitor" skins. Good job on this amazing job riot from every department that helped with the rework.
My only criticism for this rework which i hope is constructive concerns the minimal changes to morgana. She is one of the most iconic champion in league of legends. Morgana's kit had only minimal changes since her release, since there was no need to change her. However, that doesn't mean that she doesn't need partial changes to her kit. I've took notice to a lot of Morgana players concerns complaints about some of her abilities. Nevertheless, I have the same concerns. Below i will clarify which abilities Morgana players including me think should change before her release. In addition, I will showcase the reason behind the changes.
[MORGANA ~ THE FALLEN] (SUGGESTIONS)
"Auto Attack Range": [Change] 450 >>> 525 or 550
Morgana endangers herself everytime she tries to auto attack someone as a consequence of having a short range. This change will bring her up standards of enchanters and mages. All of whom have range that varies between 525 like karma to 625 like annie. To compensate, reduce auto attack damage.
"Auto attack damage": [Reduce] to compensate for the increase in auto attack
"Passive: Soul Siphon": [Remove] old passive [New] Gain ?/?/?% movement speed whenever you land a "Q: Dark Binding" or Use "R: Soul Shackles" (DISCLAIMER: "W: Tormented Soil" and "E: Black Sheild" would not proc/trigger the passive + NO CD)
Morgana is an immoble character who usually gets herself in danger for a getting a trade or attempting to make a play. As a reward for landing her "Q: Dark Binding" which is a skill shot that is actually not easy to land, she will gain enough movement speed to change her position whether it was to get to a safe place or getting in a position to use her "R: Soul Shackles" to make a play. Her "R: Soul Shackles" would also proc/trigger the passive. She would use this to have a relative chance in keeping the enemy in her ultimate. To compensate, the movement speed given by the passive increases per level, instead of flat movement speed
"Q: Dark Binding": N/A
"W: Tormented Soil": [Change] "W: Tormented Soil" deals damage a small burst of damage initially then it deals damage every 0.25 of a second instead of 0.5 of a second with the same maximum damage and minimal damage per second with reduced duration (DISCLAIMER: This means that the damage will be the same but it will be distributed throughout the second + Reduced duration + I believe this change is in addition to Riot August's change + I will link the changes later on)
Riot August's change "W: Tormented Soil" is good, but it needs something extra to make it more relevant. Right now w is barely noticed unless paired with her "Q: Dark Binding". Riot August's change will make the ability kind of relevant when they are really really low. But, it does not change how minimal the damage is for how much it costs when you place the ability on the ground under champions when it is not paired with her "Q: Dark Binding". When you use the ability alone it does little to no damage, since the enemy walks out of it in 0.5 second making the ability proc once. This change will give a little amount of poke in advance with quick but small damaging ticks of damage. To compensate, the duration of the ability is reduced to match the current damage or the intended damage by Riot August.
"E: Black Sheild": N/A
"R: Soul Shackles": [Add] Morgana takes 10/20/30% less damage reduction except for True Damage and channels the damage she reduced to all champions she's binding to by "R: Soul Shackles"
Using Morgana's ultimate called "R: Soul Shackles" is a death wish. You use it while hoping that you do not die. It coerces you into buying an item called "Zhonya's Hourglass" and saving your summoner spell "flash" to get a decent use out of it. Nevertheless, you're the main target of every fight and the enemy will focus on killing you. This change will make things a little more interesting. When you use your ultimate "R: Soul Shackles" you will gain movement speed boost from your passive based on your level. With damage reduction based on your level as well. The same reduced damage excluding True Damage will be channeled to her binded enemies which will make the enemies think twice before hurting morgana. This will fit with two of morgana's quotes "Share in my torments!" and "Feel my pain.". This will also create more ways of using Morgana's ultimate "R: Soul Shackles" in the disposal of the players' hands. Should they want to use Zhonya's to prevent taking any damage or allow the enemy to damage them, so they would return a partial amount of the damage to the enemies.
