How would feel about your favorite Human champions being turned into something inhuman or monstrous? Like 
looking like 
or 
as a Minotaur.

Could potentially cause confusion if Garen and Alistar were on the same team. The only way this would happen is if it was super distinct (A few features distinct features of Garen were kept on the fantasy version of him) or they made sure they used weird creatures they've never used before (which probably wouldn't work well since it would require people to have knowledge of the skin and what champion it goes to, giving a very very small, but important advantage to someone with the skin).
