Void based champs usually tend to be either monsters, biological war machines or people that had the unfortunate experience of getting somehow involved with it. Yet this hellish plane of existence, while dangerous and unstable could still have an individual with the audacity to claim himself the ruler of it. My idea is based around an individual that is so ancient that he has seen the very beginning of the Runewars, possibly even had a hand in starting it. the only "living" witness to it's start and phases before it's atrocity (lore wise it could be a great way to give the players a sense of how Runeterra was before the Runewars, but it would be taken with a grain of salt due to his constant mumbling and contradictory claims. Isolation kind of does that to you).

Sadly I don't have a name for him, so for this case I will reference him as "V".

Possible Backstory: His backstory should be kept a mystery, as he himself would have most likely forgotten it. Fragments of memory reaching him through the agony he had to endure for countless centuries of isolation. Though most people would have either killed themselves or gone completely mad, he somehow managed to do both and still be somehow alive. Choosing to embrace his eternal prison within the Void, turning it into his own Kingdom , from there he could gather his knowledge of the Void and it's powers, learning to defy the laws of gravity itself and weaponize it before he finally brings chaos to Runeterra as the Harbinger of The Void.

(There could be a /joke that he looks towards a ball with a poorly drawn face and proceeds to talk to it, referencing "Castaway".)

Appearance: Due to V's extreme exposure to the Void and it's powers his appearance should be humanoid but alien, tall and slim build that is a perverse version of what he originally looked as a result of being imprisoned within the thing he was infamous for. Charcoal skinned, withered and rough, the texture of bone and stone mixed to create a truly alien look of the former pride of a lost empire to the ages. Attire worn and tightly patched around his waist, arms and legs with cloth. Giving away to the skeletal frame of his body, wearing a long and tattered cloak, the symbol of the empire he once served unrecognizable. From the horns around his skull gives away a look of a crown, his eyes covered as only the pure magical powers that they've witnessed forever radiates off the sockets, revealing the insides of his skull, an outer shell protecting his still preserved brain, purple fire burning outwards. His eyes sacrificed long ago by an unspeakable revelation.

(There could be a interaction where he fights the Rift Herald/Vel'koz and see the eye, to which he will comment "So that's where I left it...")

Playstyle: As a Ranged Juggernaut, V's playstyle should match his personality and backstory, a self proclaimed king that does not think a single subject worthy of his true powers unless they have proven to endure their lasting effects , using the terrain itself to deal damage with gravity and void based abilities that weaken the enemies stats or increase his own before dealing damage.

His focus should be entirely around the idea that you build him tanky and deal little to no damage with your AA's or abilities alone but only dealing damage if you use your spells wisely to create combos for damage, players would pick this champ if they were in need of heavy CC but with long cooldowns and heavy mana costs, to make sure that the players do not abuse his CC heavy kit his early spell costs a large portion of his mana bar and rewarding players that use them carefully and sparingly. Suggested lanes should be Top/Support.

(You could say that people play him support because he does not find the enemy team worth killing)

_ Unique Mechanic Suggestions:_ V's abilities are based on two things: Void Magic and Gravity. His kit is created in a way that it supports both the fantasy of being a Lord of the Void and a gravity defying badass, while we have many instant burst mages that will half your health with 1 combo, Void Magic is focused on weakening their offensive and defensive capabilities while stacking those effects before his other abilities throws them around like dolls. For players to successfully win with him they will need to find a balance between the stat altering Void Magic and Gravity altering abilities.

(Following kit is my example, I don't claim to be an expert at creating abilities but It's a a thing to help you out with the idea of how this champion could work)

  • Passive _ V's Cooldown Reduction Cap is by 5% every time he successfully combos 2 or more abilities on a single target capping at 70%, lost upon death. For every stack of W on a target, his Q and R's effects will increase (capped at 10 stacks)_

  • Q V throws the target to a direction based on his choosing and lowering their attack speed and movement speed, if the target hits the wall they are stunned for a short amount of time and for each stack that the target has the distance and reductions increase, proccing the current amount of stacks and dealing damage based on the amount of charges.

  • W Passive: every third of V's auto attacks sends out a Void Charge that deals damage over time, effect stacks up to 10 times(damage does not stack) Active: V absorbs all the Void Charges, creating a shield blocking 1 spell for every 3 stacks and steals a % of the targets stats based on the amount of stacks.

  • E V replaces his position with an ally of his choosing for 2 seconds, becoming unmovable while applying a stack of Void Charge for every auto attack one deals to him before teleporting back to his previous location.

  • R V creates a black hole within his hand before slamming it to the ground, stunning all enemies closest to the center, slowing all those at the edge of the AOE, if the target has 5+ stacks they are silenced and unable to attack regardless of distance.

PROS:

  • High CC

  • Survivability

  • Strong Mid/Late Game

CONS:

  • Weak Early Game

  • Item Reliant

  • Low Damage
