New champion idea - Amaterasu, the Goddess of the Brush

Before anyone asks, no, this has nothing to with Smite, and everything to do with Okami. Yes, I'm well aware in Okami Amaterasu was the god of the sun. We already have our own sun-themed champion. No one wants to compete with Leona.

Amaterasu, the Goddess of the Brush

Passive: Divine Instrument - One of Amaterasu's item slots is permanently dedicated to a Divine Instrument, which dictates her basic attack animations and gives bonuses to her basic abilities. She may choose from one of three types, and may upgrade each type two times. She CANNOT have more than one, and she CANNOT switch types past 5 minutes. Each type's final form grants a unique effect to her ultimate, and the type dictates what her ultimate will be. She starts with a Reflector by default.

Reflectors grant Amaterasu large amounts of bonus magic resist and armor per level, along with a moderate amount of AD, and makes her basic attacks faster and melee. [Final: Solar Flare]

Rosaries grant Amaterasu large amounts of bonus attack damage and lifesteal per level, and make her basic attacks ranged. [Final: Tundra Beads]

Glaives grant Amaterasu large amounts of bonus AP and spell vamp per level. Every few seconds, her next basic attack will deal bonus magic damage, gain range, and cause her to dash to and through her target. [Final: Thunder Edge]

Q: Power Slash - Amaterasu fires a medium-range skillshot that detonates on the first enemy hit or at the end of it's range. Upon detonation, Amaterasu draws with her brush, dealing [base+50% AP+40% bonus AD] physical damage to all enemies in an arc centered on the point of detonation and her original casting point. Short cooldown. Reflector: Grants Amaterasu 10 bonus armor and magic resist for each enemy champion hit, stacking up to 10 times and lasting for 2 seconds. High mana cost, medium-low cooldown. Rosary: For each enemy hit by Power Slash, Amaterasu will fire an Ink Bullet toward the skillshot's original detonation point. Each Ink Bullet deals [base+20% AD] to all enemies in a line. Glaive: If Power Slash kills an enemy champion, Amaterasu permanently gains 5 AP.

W: Catwalk - Amaterasu imbues a piece of terrain with the power of Catwalk for a duration after a delay. During this time, any allies can climb up and over this terrain freely. Enemies can see what piece of terrain she has marked. Extreme cooldown, no mana cost. Reflector: Allies that use Catwalked terrain gain the resistances granted by Amaterasu's Reflector for 10 seconds. Rosary: Using Catwalked terrain grants Amaterasu [10+7 per 30% bonus Attack Speed]% movement speed for 4 seconds. Glaive: Significantly lowers Catwalk's per-terrain cooldown.

E: Veil of Mist - Amaterasu paints, summoning mist that slows the perceptions of her enemies. For six seconds, she gains [base+5 per 100 AP+8 per 100 bonus AD]% movement speed, and [base+4 per 100 AP+6 per 100 bonus AD]% attack speed. Moderate cooldown, high mana cost. Cooldown begins AFTER the buff expires. Reflector: Enemies near Amaterasu have their movement speed reduced by the same percentage her movement speed is increased. Rosary: Amaterasu's basic attacks also deal [base+20% AP] bonus magic damage on hit for the duration. Glaive: Amaterasu's first basic attack after casting will inflict a slow for double her movement speed buff percentage.

R: Reflector - Inferno - Amaterasu uses the Celestial Brush to summon a raging fire at the target location. The fire deals magic damage, slows the movement speed of nearby enemies, and leaves a trail of flames that grants allies [base+5 per 75 bonus AD] movement speed. She can reactivate the ability to direct the firestorm. Final Form (Solar Flare): Stuns enemies for 1 second on casting, but gains .5 seconds of channel time.

Rosary - Icestorm - Amaterasu channels for 1 second, then unleashes a blizzard at the target location for 10 seconds with global range. The blizzard deals [base+200% AD] over the duration, and slows enemies' movement speed by 10%, increasing to 50% over the duration. Final Form (Tundra Beads): When initially cast, enemies caught in range are rooted for .5 seconds.

Glaive - Thunderstrike - Amaterasu imbues her body with the power of lightning, empowering her next three basic attacks to deal bonus magic damage, gain range, and cause her to dash through her target. The first one also stuns her target for [base+.1 per 100 AP] seconds. Final Form (Thunder Edge): If any of the attacks kill the target, Amaterasu loses her remaining attacks and summons a lightning bolt at their place of death that strikes after 1 second, dealing the same magic damage and stun that the third blow would have to all enemies in range.

To summarize, Amaterasu can basically fill one of three roles based on her choice of weapon. Reflectors make her a more durable, fighter type. Rosaries will turn her into the team's marksman. Glaives push her towards an assassin/mage playstyle. Thematically, she's meant to be a very flexible champion who can itemize for a variety of roles. Of course, all the abilities and scalings are subject to change, but I wanted to think about what Amaterasu would be like if she was in the League of Legends roster, and this is what I came up with. Again - the core idea is a champion who can fulfill multiple roles on a team, just not simultaneously. While it doesn't have to be Amaterasu, she fit very well into the role and it'd be really cool to see her in-game - I personally love Okami, and think being able to play Ammy would be awesome.

Her abilities are very powerful as they're described here - perhaps a per-champion cooldown for Catwalk, or the removal of piercing on Ink Bullets - but it's all just an idea.

The main idea behind her is that she can fill one of three roles on the team, and is a very flexible pick. These abilities are just ideas that are inspired by her abilities and mechanics in Okami. I'm sure the Riot design team could come up with a much better kit if they decided a concept like this was worth implementing.
