My ideas for a Kalista rework
Hello there! There’s been talk at riot about Kalista receiving a rework in the future, and as a Kalista main here are my thoughts on how it could look:
Passive: Hops, reduced ad ratio on auto attacks, and black spear are still the same should be kept. Changes: Auto attacks are no longer able to scale with attack speed, now scaling by a flat % per level. Building attack speed will now increase your hop distance instead of boot tier.
Notes: -Attack speed scaling should start off strong, but be absolute garbage late game -This will ensure that having a weak late-game will be a weakness -Hop distance should be capped, maybe a bit higher than it currently is.
Q: Longer ranged hop compared to usual, other than that no changes this change is not necessary
W: No longer gives attack speed when standing near Oathsworn. Lower damage when both attack the same target.
Big Changes: On activation, after a short delay, Sentinel travels (faster than it currently does) when first heading in initial direction. If it spots an enemy, you and your Oathsworn gain movement speed when heading towards spotted target. You also get additional attack speed and on-hit damage against recently spotted.
Notes: -Initial cast should move as fast as Ashe's ult. Yeah it will be fast, but unlike Ashe's ult it can't go through walls, thus slowing it down. -After the cast it behaves as it currently does and loops around giving vision -Spotting radius is larger initial cast, but returns to what it currently is afterwards -Gets a shield on initial cast (so a high ranged champion can't make this ability useless) -Due to it moving faster on initial cast it doesn't last as long (sentinel lasts only 2 laps)
- Spotted enemy can be called "betrayer" or something to fit the lore
Goals with this change: -Kalista's Sentinel will be worse as a scouting tool but better for finding picks. -It will be more beneficial to use it against an enemy that you already have vision of, like Ashe's ult -Should be used as damage in lane, delay on it means that you use it after your support's cc and not as the engage -Also used in teamfights
