League Records
So I just came up with this idea, and I don't know if it's been discussed in the past, but it's for a new game mode. Basically, the records for things like CS, KDA, Gold, Damage Dealt, DPS, and even more specific stuff that I can't think of off the top of my head are recorded after a time period before the mode would be released for each individual role. These records are set regardless of ELO, so anyone can break them. There would be a special queue for people looking to break these records, where you go in, select the record you want to break, choose your roles, and queue up. It'd go like a regular League game, and if you break the record, you get the title only if you win. Of course, one of the biggest issues is the lack of coordination between a team that have a bunch of random records they all want to break, thus leaving themselves wide open for the enemy team; making it utter chaos. Well, the solution to that is that you will only be matched up with people who are trying to break records that will not get in the way of, or even help in your own. For example, say there's an ADC main trying to beat the DPS record for ADCs. He wouldn't want to be matched up with a Support going for the Damage Dealt record for Supports; they'd just keep killing the enemy champions too fast for either of them to get the chance. The ADC main would want someone trying to break the CC or Healing record, or something that wouldn't get in the way. So, in addition to having one person for each role, there is also one person for each of the record categories. The categories I've come up with are as follows: Offense (Damage Dealt, DPS, etc.) Defense (Damage Taken, Damage Mitigated on Self, etc.) Utility (How Long You CC'd Enemies, Healing Done to Allies, etc.) Score (KDA, Gold, CS, etc.) Teamwork (Not really sure what should go under this category, but I think it should have to do with team fights and taking objectives, among other things, as a team) Your record will be displayed on your profile page and clicking on it will show the stats and whatnot of that game, and reveal the other people in that game, and if they broke the record they set out for. My mentality with this idea is that it's an alternative to Ranked for those who still want a challenge, while also providing an opportunity to get better with skills that can help you in regular game modes. As a side note, you cannot break records while in any other game mode, and Records has the same level and champion pool prerequisites as Draft mode; you need 16 playable champions (including the F2P rotation) and be level 30. Other than that the only issue is whether it would be permanent or rotating. You can only invite a maximum of one friend to the game so that you most likely won't stall the game. So what do you guys think? I'm not really attached to it, and therefore not really willing to defend it. It just kinda popped into my head and I decided to post about it. If you don't want to post your specific opinion, you have the pole below. That's all from me, and I'll see you on the Rift!
