(Champion Concept) Kulandazi, the Great One of the Jungle
LORE
Deep within the Kumungu Jungle rests the Great One of the Jungle. Said to have been born when Runeterra gave it's first breath, the Great One of the Jungle was said to be responsible for creating the jungles and marshes of the world. His ability to connect with the earth and nurture life made him an incredibly respected being by all who lived within the jungles and marshes of the world. They came to call him Kulandazi (kool-on-da-zee), which is ancient tongue for "He Who Shelters". However, like all life on the planet, he eventually past away. His body was honored by the wildlife, both plants and animals, and was mummified within a tree at the center of what is now known as the Kumungu Jungle. It is said that all who interfere with the wildlife of the jungle are punished by the spirit of Kulandazi, perishing and joining the rest of those who interfered with the jungle in the marshes of the jungle. In recent years, humanity has risen to great power and have begun to harm nature in ways unimaginable before. Trees are destroyed at speeds unheard of and wildlife is hunted for sport. The creatures of the jungle, one day, were under assault by a band of humans claiming to come from a city known as Piltover. They cut and chopped down many trees, permanently displacing the many animals that lived within them. The spirit of Kulandazi reached out and spoke to his children, telling them to bring him to these humans. Carrying him out willingly on a throne made of stone, vines, and dirt, the creatures met with the humans at their campsite. The very old corpse of Kulandazi scared the daylights out of the humans who saw it, causing many who weren't so brave to flee in terror. However, a few humans stayed, wanting to see why nature had brought them this corpse. It's eyes ignited with a green glow and the corpse began to move. Kulandazi had willed himself back to life in order to confront these wold-be destroyers of nature. When the corpse moved, many of the humans who had stayed joined their friends who had fled before. However, still some stayed to meet this visitor. "Leave!", the corpse spoke. "You come now and destroy this place. Look around you. You have only caused death and destruction in your wake. Explain yourselves and leave." The humans explained that they were using what they had "destroyed" in order to further their lives and provide for other humans. Kulandazi was curious, but still infuriated at this explanation. "Leave! Now!" The humans, not wanting to fight something so seemingly powerful as to come back from the dead, honored the request. This was not the end of the onslaught. Many more humans, now with weapons, came to the Kumungu Jungle in order to defy Kulandazi. They continued to destroy the jungle, angering the wildlife. The wildlife began to fight back, killing many humans. Although Kulandazi had not wanted war, it seemed this was the only way. Awakening his full power, Kulandazi went to the humans and began to show them just what meddling with nature would grant them.
