Self- Mystery skin gifting

They seem to do it on a whim, either alongside an event, during a holiday that has no other special events, or on its own for seemingly no reason at all.

What you could do is find someone else who is waiting for it also, and just friend them to trade each other Mystery Skin gifts. With the restrictions being drastically lowered, this is pretty feasible now. Though, don't forget that when they do a Mystery Skin event they will sometimes drastically increase the chance to get certain types of skins, such as limited winter skins in December.

They've recently lightened the requirements on gifting. Make a smurf and gift your main.
