Has Riot ever thought about making map skins?

I mean we've got hundreds of champs skins, what if we threw could throw a skin on summoners rift (still same map layout, same objectives)? You could do skins like the void, zaun, LCS, NACS, etc. players could buy map skins, and all summoners would vote on a particular skin before the game started.

Or it would be just something personal, like custom skins are since forever. and so gamechanging map skins won't be a problem, for example if you have a snow-skin for the map,you are the only one to blame if you can't see the Iblitzcrank hook or the winter wonder Karma's R-Q that halves your health.

It could be another use for the skins section of Riot's team, but meh. most times i don't like champ skins either.

They've done custom maps in the past for things like the Harrowing and Snowdown, but each time they run into issues with color blind players or inconsistencies. As a result, the maps are almost always kept only for unranked games because it keeps the original SR as a level playing field element for ranked.

So if they decide to do map skins, it would be very limited and most likely have a lot of issues with coloring and player to player individual experience, making players a bit angry.
