Zeel, Ambitious Trickster

Hey League.

Just putting some ideas out there. Wanted to design a champion that broke all the rules. A champion that's actually different for a change. Let me know what you think.

Zeel, Amibitious Trickster

Making Progress (Passive) | Zeel periodically receives some quest, which both teams are notified about. Completion of quests grants Zeel gold, his team gold, or his team some other buff. His base attack animation, attack delay, are adopted from the ally whose ability he copies with borrowed power. His attack speed, however, is slightly slower and his attack delay is slightly higher than that of the original champion. He starts off being unable to attack, and borrowed power is automatically leveled up for him at the start of every game, similar to Azir's soldiers. Bonus health reduces Zeel's movement speed.

Example Quests Quest A: Slay X monster within some time. Quest B: Touch the enemy Nexus within some time. Quest C: Destroy X structure within some time. Quest D: Keep X ally alive for some time.

Example Quest Blurb (Allies): "You have n seconds to tag the enemy nexus for -REWARD-. Good luck!" Example Quest Blurb (Enemy Team): "The enemy Zeel has n seconds to tag your nexus. Stop him!"

Notes:_ Making Progress means Zeel can roam the map freely to complete these quests, which are good for him or his team, even if he doesn't feel like last-hitting minions in lane like a traditional champion._

Borrowed Powers (Q) | Zeel copies an ally's non-ultimate ability. The copied ability has slightly lower scalings, crowd-control durations, and damage. It also has a slightly higher cooldown. The efficiency of the copied ability increases with the duration Zeel keeps the ability, and this ability's rank. He can change the copied ability periodically.

Notes: When you just don't know what to play! Why not play Zeel? Change your mind mid-game? Just copy another ally's ability.

Negotiation (W) | Zeel receives a discount at the shop for purchasing items that increases with this ability's rank and the amount of gold he holds. He can change his quest periodically at the shop as well. Higher ranks in this ability also reduce the static cooldown of changing quests.

Notes: Zeels' passive means he can amass a ton of gold without being in lane or even interacting with other champions, except in some cases like pushing for big objectives (ex. dragon). He can carry Smite as well, if he wants to counter-jungle freely. Negotiation lets Zeel save up gold he doesn't want to spend immediately for use later, whenever that may be.

Summoner's Ally (E) | Zeel refreshes the cooldown on one of his summoner spells or active items. Higher ranks reduce this ability's cooldown.

Notes: Zeel needs to move around the map to complete quests, so Summoner's Ally gives him a way to get out of sticky situations repeatedly using spells like Ghost or Teleport, if he plans accordingly with wards. Sometimes he might have to wander all the way to the enemy Nexus just to complete a quest, so this ability is important if he wants to get out alive.

Reach For The Goal! (R) | Zeel marks all enemy structures for some time, enabling direct attacks on them regardless of what structures remain standing. The enemy Nexus can only be directly attacked by Zeel, however.

Notes: Rules, rules, rules. Sometimes, you just want to win the damn game. Attack the enemy Nexus directly if you think you can finish it off within the ability's timeframe. It won't be easy, so it might be a good idea to bring an ally or four. Something like that.

Okay, so this will be my review for Zeel, the Ambitious Trickster:

What I think was done well with Zeel: -I like the quest mechanic. Some quest ideas are not that good, but I appreciate someone using quests for their champions. I think quests shouldn't only be used for special easter eggs like the Rengar vs Kha'Zix hunt or the Lissandra vs Sejuani vs Ashe event. I may add that probably making them appear to the enemies isn't a good idea, but since I don't know how massive the rewards are, it's safe to say if the enemies know exactly what you're seeking for, the reward is worth it. -I also like the 'ability-copy' mechanic. Even if it will probably never appear in League, it's always nice to see someone experimenting with it. It's quite likely that it's impossible to judge it's effectiveness because there's 140 champions and some 'borrowed' abilities will have a much greater impact than others. But seeing you put a downside there, it might not be the best way to balance it. Perhaps some other way might be better for both the Zeel and his enemies. -Changing quests is good. Discounts on items is also very interesting. Overall the W, although a passive, has potential to be good, but I again have no idea of what the scalings on the 'discounts' or the cooldown for changing quests is.

What I think wasn't done well with Zeel: -The ultimate feels very boring and useless. On the other hand, trying to finish off the enemy's nexus might either be broken or be completely useless as well. Overall this ability most of the game won't be used at all. Hopefully you try reworking it to something more useful than just an attempt at a win through one person hitting a nexus. It's either very broken or not useful at all, you get me? -The E is also boring, I don't think we need another Zoe in terms of 'tricksters'. I would also try to rework the E in a more useful way. Tagging the nexus would be a difficult task so maybe make something that makes it easier for Zeel to move over terrain (restoring Flash once isn't enough in any case). -I'd also want to see the numbers and scalings on Zeel, it's very hard, almost impossible to judge a concept purely by the ability descriptions, but with some work, Zeel can turn out to be a decently good concept.
