Where is Doran when you need him?

Has anybody ever wondered who Doran was? If so, then you might agree with my following statement: there should be a playable character called Doran. What do you people think about that? I, personally, would thoroughly enjoy playing Doran.

In the JoJ, it did a little of backstory on Doran, currently, he is now a bit mentally retarded after getting kicked by his pack mule. I believe the purple troll guy we used to have was Doran, but I might not be right. In his lore, he used to create amazing items of grand splendor, then he got kicked in the head and he wasn't fully there so while his items were still good, they weren't as grand as they used to be.

This is one of the most hilariously horrible things in LoL's lore. I bring it up at every opportunity. "Wow Riot…you went there. You really went there."

The Journal of Justice: Volume 1, Issue 18 sheds light to the lore behind Doran's story: “What is the story of Doran and his trinkets that the League so frequently uses? Who was Doran? When did he live? Why did he create these items? I've always been curious as to the origins of these items I use so frequently in my matches.” – Summoner Afrasabi of Noxus The story of Doran tugs at the heartstrings. They say Effrem E. Doran was born with a hammer in his hands and a forge in his heart. Every object he touched, he found ways to improve, and he knew that he was destined to be a brilliant artificer. At the age of 15, he was invited to the League with an offer to assume the role of Master Artificer, a dream come true and an unprecedented honor for one so young. However, fate had other plans. En route, his carriage broke an axle. When he leaned down to inspect it, he was kicked in the head by his donkey, a stern blow. He stumbled back onto the wagon, but when he arrived at the Institute of War he was a different boy. The kick had rendered his mind soft, but it hadn’t robbed him of his passion. He still wanted nothing other than to craft, but where once he may have created singular masterpieces, he now crafted…somewhat simpler items, and many of them. He is a kind, goofy, good-hearted soul, and he takes pride in the work he does. His items are daily selected by champions on the Fields of Justice, and he has a permanent home at the Institute.

It was a stern blow.

It also suddenly occurs to me: the Great Retcon left a mentally challenged child homeless. Good job, Narrative. (Don't worry, Doran. The lore community will take you in.)

Sir Doran, the most cost effective warrior in all of Runeterra.

Doran was a smith prodigy with brain damage.

Amazing how a single Wiki search can answer almost every question anyone has ever had.

He's known for making cost-effective weapons and armors. That's all you need to know.

Apparently the old pink half-elephant shopkeeper's name was Doran.

Doran needs to come back in and make an offensive starter item for manaless champions. He is too good to not.

I'd say making him a shopkeeper in a new map would actually fit better.

I mean by now it would be kinda odd to have a items that are named after certain champions.
