Thoughts! Or, rather, comments/critique.
First off, this is REALLY awesome stuff. You'll see a lot of critiques in my comments, but that's because it's usually easier to highlight things that don't feel right then list all the things that do. I'm super excited to see music on the boards though (we get it so rarely), and I quite enjoyed listening to almost all of these. So thanks a million for posting this, and I'd love to see more.
I'd also love to know what program you're using, as it's getting really good results!
That said, let's dig a bit more into exactly what stood out to me as amazing or slightly off-putting. Again, these are the high and low points of what was a generally positive listening experience, so don't think the critique means I didn't love it!
Kindred
The intro to this one is REALLY off-putting -- the vocals don't seem in time with the music at all, but it's not reliably off-beat, so I don't know if that was intended or not. I also just didn't really get the Kindred theme aside from the singing -- I feel like something with more of a deep bass theme and a lighter melody theme dancing around and intertwining with each other, with one sometimes gaining dominance and then the other taking over might really hit that Kindred concept of Lamb & Wolf.
Force of Will
The vocals don't do it for me, nor does the slightly frantic intro -- I associate Force of Will with big moments of power, like the dropping of the spheres and the single, forceful impact as they're sent scattering. It's a cool beat once you get past the intro, but I'm not getting the connection. Maybe that's just me. The...melody?...just feels too frantic for the ability and the character for me to sink into it. I do love the big, low notes though -- that seems like something that could come from the explosion of power behind the spell.
Ebb & Flow
I love this. I'm not sure it has quite the variation I'd expect from an ebb/flow of water (something to explore if you revisit the piece, maybe?), but the beat is great and the melody layered onto it is delightful. Definitely a fun piece, and one I'd listen to again. I'd challenge you to see if you can push this more into the push/pull of rising and falling water though.
Paranoia
I get what you were going for here, but I don't think it QUITE hit far enough into the creepy, suspense-building mood. Maybe it's the fact that notes seem so...rounded, I guess? The underbeat at about 2:50 is damn good for that mood, but the effect on top of it seems more cheesy than menacing. I wish I had better words for this, but I don't normally describe music. :D
Grave Digger
...the beginning of this is fantastic. This is the first use of vocals/noises I've really liked in your work, and I love that you cut it out quickly so we get just a hint of it. There's a melancholy with horror overtones that just really works. I lose it around 0:45 though -- the bottom sort of falls out of that atmosphere, and you don't regain it until the 1:40 mark, with the dripping echoes. The main part in between those simply didn't capture my interest, which is maybe due to how much I liked the mood you'd built before and how sad I was to see it go.
Blood Rush
Love the pumping, slightly accelerating beat that drives this -- feels like a heartbeat. I'd love it if accelerated MORE, actually, since that only happens for a second or two at the start. Once it gets going it feels...a little laid back, actually, instead of the powerful, pumping drive I was expecting. A few moments of high-octane, high-tempo bursts might sell that feeling of a violent bloodrush a little harder. Definitely a fun piece though!
