Has League of Legends PEAKED? + SOLUTION!

TL;DR: A Campaign mode added to league would be great and serve two very important functions: 1. Ease the learning curve of the game and 2. garner hype about the game to promote growth within the League Community.

A lot of people have reason to believe that League has peaked in terms of its growth and player base. The reasons for this are spelled out perfectly in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZylN2WzVpbI.

Around the 5:10 mark the video explains that the current tutorial for League is a joke, and creates a very "sink or swim" type of a situation for new players, especially those with no friends to help them learn. The video goes on to suggest that by fixing it, Riot could soften the learning curve of the game and thus garner new players more easily. This is my solution for that very problem:

A Single-player Campaign in League.

Right off the bat let me go ahead and say that I KNOW Riot doesn't want to establish a meta that way people still experiment with champions and roles. And that's great! Now, with that out of the way. here's my thought:

The Lore in League is vast, very vast. A single player campaign would be excellent as both an introduction and continuation of the lore. My idea is that at the "start" screen before a match, the game would display all 10 champions (or six depending on the game-mode this Campaign mission is on) in the game and by clicking on one of the champions, their splash art would be displayed and a voiced text would appear that read aloud that champions lore.

In addition to broadening the game's lore, a single-player campaign would also serve as a great introduction to the game. It could take you through all the different modes, 5v5, 3v3, ARAM, and possibly other game modes, all while connected to a greater story. The difficulty of the campaign could also be easily managed, the starting missions would start at "intro bot" level and eventually ramp up to "intermediate," (and hopefully beyond).

(This is why I addressed the establishment of a meta above:) The campaign would follow a story broad enough for the PLAYER to experiment with other champions. Perhaps the first few missions are played as a marksmen(preferably of the PLAYER'S choice), the game explains the common summoner's spells (Heal and Flash), and sets you towards the bottom lane with a support. The game would explain backing and suggest useful items to buy in the shop. (Thornmail on Ashe? WTF?!) The game would progress this way until victory was achieved.

In this fashion, the next few missions would be played as a top-laner of the PLAYER'S choice, taking Teleport and Flash. Eventually during one of the top-lane missions, perhaps the bot lane would get in to trouble and the game would pause briefly to explain TP-Ganking and its importance while prompting you to TP to help your AI-teammates.

This method of forcing a player down a lane with a "meta" champ with the most common summoner's spells would be repeated until all possible roles have been addressed and played. (Special care given to the Jungle as this is a part of the game that confuses SEVERAL new players.)

With the addition of a Campaign, new champions could be created to serve as heroes/heroines (or villains) in the new story. Loot would be rewarded for certain milestones within the campaign, and perhaps a ranking system would play a part in that (3-star a mission vs. 1-star a mission).

I know this would take a lot of time to develop, but it would be well worth the time. It would be possible to produce the campaign episodically. Note that the LAUNCH of the new campaign should address all that needs to be addressed for a new player to begin playing bots/PvP comfortably, with later episodes of the campaign coming monthly or bi-monthly. New Champions could be released in conjunction with new chapters of the campaign.

So that's my ides. Shout-out to Jeremy "Gaming Curios" for getting me thinking.

Any feed-back from the community or Riot would be greatly appreciated, so let me know what you think!

I didnt know what league before i started playing. I thought there would be a campaign thingy, and we could unlock different champs by defeating them lol. Just my thoughts. Also the only thing the tutorial taught me is to last hit minions, and use abilities, i didnt know what adc is, or the importance of tanks, or anything, i explored the game myself, XD I used to buy ancient coin as adc, thought it will give me more money etc. Idk about the campaign but the tutorial should improve lol. I didnt know what masteries or runes to use or anything. I am glad someone helped .

Also, i know garen is an easy champ, but he shouldnt be used as a tutorial champ because of his passive. He can take infinite number of minion damage when his passive is on, making players get careless. Which is why they do poorly when they switch champs, because the monions take 90% of their health. Makes it worse because he uses no mana, players forget/ignore that mana bar and spam abilities till they are basically defenseless. Garen is a good champ, i get it, but giving him to new players make them go the wrong way.
