Hanna, Ionia’s Gardener (Champion Concept)
So this is very spur of the moment but I decided to do a new take on the idea of an auto attack based support. Hope you guys find it interesting!
Hanna, Ionia’s Gardener “One of Ionia’s most beloved gardeners, Hanna was known throughout the land for growing the most beautiful flowers and the most delicious fruit anyone had ever seen. Every year Hanna would journey around Ionia planting as she went on her annual journey to pay respects to the God Willow, who she believed gifted her her abilities. One year, however, she arrived at the garden to find the God Willow was no longer there. Heartbroken, and believing her powers to be fading forever, Hanna set out on what she thinks will be her last adventure, and she plans to spread her flowers all over Runeterra, before it’s too late.”
She is a young girl in Oriental attire carrying a large bag of seeds and a bottle to her side. She has a flower crown on her head.
AA Range: 550
Passive (Sower of Seeds)- Hanna’s basic attacks do not deal damage. Instead, when she attacks she spreads seeds in an area. After 4 attacks in an area, Hanna plants a flower field. She can do this up to 3 times in an area, with the third time completely filling the area. When Hanna critically strikes, she procs the seeds twice. Hanna and her Allies in flower fields gain bonus (1% + 0.3% per level) health and mana Regen while in them. Fields last for 15 seconds before disappearing. Applying a stack in them refreshes this.
Explanation- So this is a bit complicated but is the key point of her kit. When she auto attacks it creates an area like taliyahs worked ground around her, not her target. Attacking 4 times in that area fills up one-third of it as a flower field, eight two-thirds, twelve the whole thing. I’m not confident on the numbers for Regen because I don’t know how busted this would be early game but the idea is for it to be about 2 ocean drakes max level. I also don’t know if I want them to completely disappear after 15 seconds or just shrink by one size.
Q (Fruit Toss)- Hanna tosses a fruit 650 units dealing 40/50/60/80/100 + 50% AP magic damage to the first unit hit. If the enemy is in a flower field, they are slowed by 20% for 1.5 seconds (4 sec CD)
Explanation- Since Hanna cannot basic attack I wanted to give her a spammable skill to use in trades and skirmishes that would act like an auto attack. The idea is to keep the damage close to that of an auto attack with a little more oomph since there is a longer cooldown. Very similar to a mundo cleaver.
W (Cheers)- First Cast: Hanna slows herself by 20% and begins shaking up a bottle of juice. After channeling for 5 (-100% Attack Speed) seconds or upon recasting she heals all allies around her and in a larger cone in front of her for 30/60/90/120/150 (+ 30% AP) on instant cast to 60/100/140/180/220 (+ 60% AP) on full charge. Enemies caught in the area are blinded for 1 sec at instant to 3 secs at full charge. (15/14/13/12/11 sec CD)
Explanation- Since attack speed is the stat to build on Hanna, I wanted to give her a support like ability that scales off of attack speed and also fits thematically. The area is like Braums ult with an immediate area around her but a larger cone in front though not as long as glacial fissure more like an Annie w
E- (Magical Orchard)- Hanna spawns a tree (800 unit circle) that is treated as terrain and roots enemies around it for 1 second. Hanna and enemies can both target the tree. Enemies can kill it (4 hits) but attacking it or hitting it with Fruit Toss causes the tree to shake pollen that slows the enemy for 40% for 1 sec and lays down two proc of Hanna’s passive. (16/15/14/13/12 sec CD)
Explanation- This is basically a trundle pillar with health. What this does for Hanna though is allow her to set up flower fields aggressively, and with good Q she can slow enemies much farther away. This also lets her use her passive without being near minions or other enemies to auto attack, as she can just spawn a tree and start whacking at it. I might switch the slow to poison to give her more damage in her kit.
R- (Gift of the Willow Seed)- Hanna calls forth the blessing of the God Willow to bless her fields. Enemies and allies inside of flower fields are “seeded”. After 2 seconds, allies and enemies that are seeded will root all enemies in a 400 unit radius around them for 2/2.5/3 seconds. (This includes the enemy who was originally seeded). (60 sec CD)
Explanation- Hanna’s ult is used as both disengage and a secondary form of engage. The delay makes it a little harder to use, but I was hesitant to make it instant since that hardly seems like an ult and more like a dark binding or thorn snare and instead tried to give it big aoe power.
Hanna is a support similar to Janna and Tahm Kench with a dash of Zyra. Your goal is to make flower fields both to help passively with regen, but also to set up good opportunities to ult on enemies who dare engage on you, and also as an amazing tool to follow up on an engage from your team. Laning is mostly going to be spent passively, dissuading aggression with your Q and W, but with a self sufficient and aggressive adc you can also look to use your E to slow down your opponents and set up for the ult to chase them down. My concern with this character is just how passive her kit is, it could be that she is just not fun to play since there is less interaction with the enemy. Let me know what you guys think.
