Champion Idea: Melding Mechanic
I came up with an idea not too long ago and shared it with my friend. He insisted I posted it to see what everyone else thought. I tried my hardest to make the champion as balanced as I could with the abilities I chose, however only Riot can truly mess with the numbers and tweak balance around their game. _ Before I get started I wanted to say this: Yes, Mina from Dawngate (RIP Good Game) was my inspiration for this champion. I loved playing her, and I wanted a similar champion in League. All of the mechanics are already there in the game. They can reverse engineer Kalista Ult, and Tahm Devour to get the untargetable persistence that this champion requires, along with Lulu's Q for Ally-Location Skillshots and Sivir ult for team-wide buffs; so this champion isn't too far ahead, mechanically._
I also apologize if this champion concept has already been posted previously, I tried searching for something like this, but I guess I wasn't using the right keywords, because I couldn't find anything
{Melding Champion} Focus: mitigating and sharing damage. Visual Idea: A dark fae sorcerer, something like a counter balance to Lulu, who uses herself to shield and damage instead of pix. (Like an Anti-Lulu, not necessarily a Lulu-Nemesis) Lore Idea: Since a champion like this would have to be a yordle for it to look any bit plausable, me and a friend were thinking about perhaps this champion was played a nasty prank and got lost in the Shadow Isles and became the first Yordle akin to the Shadow Isles by some kind of corruption. It could have special interactions with all of the Shadow Isles champions, and even some lines of dialog against the yordles who pranked her.
[Passive] Adaptive Melding Basic attacks also hit for an additional (.8BonusAD)(.05AP) However, all restorative and shield effects (including mana regen) on this champion are halved while inside a host. +Recall: If this champion is attached to an ally who is recalling, they will recall with them.
[Q Spell] Soul Sap [Mana: Low Cost - Range: Short] This champion fires a skillshot in a direction that does ???(???AP). If this ability hits a champion it does different effects. [After Hitting Enemy Champion] (Alone) - This champion gains a shield equal to ???(???AP). (Melded) - The shield is applied to the melded ally instead for an extended duration. [Clarification]
- When melded, the skillshot is shot from the location of the attached ally champion. The shield gained from landing a Q on an enemy champion while melded is applied to the ally, not this champion.
[W Spell] Spirit Meld [Mana: Low Cost - Range: Moderate] [First Cast] This champion attaches to an ally, becoming untargetable, and sharing 2/4/6/8/10% of all BonusStats to the chosen ally. Additionally this Champion takes 40% of all damage received by the ally and gives them the Adaptive Melding passive oh-hit buff. [Second Cast] This champion leaves the ally and lands in a dark explosion. Any enemies within the exit range are slowed for 15% for .5 seconds. This ability is put on a moderate cool down after leaving the host. [Interaction] If the ally dies before this champion does, they will be given the chance to exit the ally normally; However, this champion will be automatically ejected from the host if below 15% HP. [Potential Balance] If the melded ally champion takes more than 30%/35%/40%/45%/50% health within 2 seconds, this champion is immediately ejected from the host, however allowing the option to choose where to land. If this champion is expelled by health threshold, a shield is left behind on the host for (100%AP) for 1.5 seconds.
[E Spell] Dark Impulse [Mana: Moderate Cost - Range: Wide] After selecting a target area, this champion takes a 1 second cast time to explode the targeted area. (This cast time only stops this champion's movement if outside the host. When melded, the ability still takes a cast time, but the ally movement is not affected). [After Explosion] (Alone) - enemy champions are damaged and cursed. Enemies hit with {Soul Sap} afterwards are snared. (Melded) - enemies are damaged and slowed for 10/15/20/25/30%.
[R Ultimate] Fae Ritual [Mana: High Cost - Range: Sivir Ult] This champions radiates with a dark aura, taking on different effects based on Meld status. (Alone) - All Ally champions within range of this champion gain the Spirit Meld passive but disable the ability to use Spirit Meld for the duration. Additionally, this champion's abilities are enhanced.
- Spirit Sap now explodes on champion hit, the shield recieved by this ability will also transfer to all allies in range for the duration.
- Dark Impulse will now cause weakening along with curse, allowing the afflicted enemy champions to take more damage from all sources. (Melded) - All Ally champions within range of the current melded champion will receive Spirit Meld passive but disable the ability to leave the current champion for the duration. Additionally the current melded champion will receive double the effects of Spirit Meld for the duration.
[Clarification]
- Items that give Aura effects or special interactions such as Sunfire, Thornmail, Dead Man's Plate, Banshee's, Randuin's... Etc, do not transfer into the melded ally. These items will only take effect when outside the host.
- Any Regenerative items, however, such as Warmog's, Chalice, Morello's,... Etc, will persist on this champion while melded. (Damage taken by the melded ally and absorbed by this champion will count for disabling Warmog's passive.)
- When Melding, only base stats of the items will be applied to the ally. Items with additional % increases will not be accounted for in the total. This affects items such as Deathcap, Cinderhulk, and % Penetration Items.
Let Me know what you think!, I know there's a good chance Riot will not make a champion like this, or even so, maybe not for a couple years, but I wanted to know what the community thought.
