Gold Trouble

I was plat 5 s5 and got a new account, my normal mmr is challenger/master but after going 8-2 i was placed in bronze 2 and am currently gold5. I was g1 last week and am having some very negative teams and don't quite know why. I was 200-130 and am now 225-223... I really dont know what is going on but it seems like if i don't carry it is a for sure loss. I duo'd with a silver friend of mine and was told that that could be the problem. If anyone has any suggestions or answers I would really appreciate some advice on what lane to carry best in and what the issue could possibly be.
