Tackling the problem of insta-locking (and macro spamming) in Blind Pick games.
Concept: A list of buttons in champ select in the circle between the teams reading "Top, Jungle, Mid, Support, AD Carry". Whoever picks first gets the role, whoever is last gets what is left. If there are more than two left, allocate the rest of the roles randomly. After picking, a "Meta Champions" page comes up for your role and shows all of the meta champions that a player has for the role. They can choose other champions by clicking a tab next to the default "Meta Champions" reading "All Champions" which would bring up the usual page.
Reason for posting: Nine days ago I was in champ select. I said Fill. Jungle, Top and Mid claimed their lanes. Then some guy puts "Mid" and locks in Yasuo regardless of anyone else. No one leaves because no one wants to risk having hours of non priority queue time. So I troll the Yasuo player, constantly inting wherever he is, and I just got a 14 day ban for it... Blind pick champ select puts decent players in lose-lose situations. I don't want a 45 minute game that we're going to lose because we lose group fights with no support/adc. Playing solo adc (or worse, support) bot lane and an arguing, split cs&exp mid lane is never going to win. So we lost at 20 minutes because I inted, saving everyone's time. (See Link)
Response to expected reply: Someone might say "In Blind Pick you shouldn't expect meta rules to apply" but the thing is, every blind pick game you go in there are people claiming meta roles with meta champions. As well as this, my solution doesn't stop teams/players picking non meta compositions/champions, it is solely there to discourage insta-locking and macro spam in the chat.
Have good day, I'll have a sad fourteen :'^(
