Why are the harrowing skins this year very UnHalloweeny?

Yeah they might be all about death, souls, and shadows and stuff... but it doesn't really seem very Halloween to me. It's weird but, I get a very sci-fi alieny feeling to it instead of the harrowing theme it should have made it look like.

You guys should have stayed with the skins that at least have some humor to it or something to relate in actual RL Halloween costumes. There are so many better ideas for Halloween skin than just these downright "boring serious" line of skins, for a yearly event. I mean its not bad to have a serious themed skin and and all but at least limit to just one or two champions and make the rest have humor or look original.

Some underrated but awesome Halloween skin ideas...

Bloody/Axe Murderer Mundo Bloody/Axe Murderer Olaf Swamp Monster Zac Reaper or Jack the Ripper Talon Zombie Shen Zombie Gragas

for the lols

Definitely Not Rengar (wearing a wacky Kha'zix costume) Superhero Galio (cuz new Galio reminds me of All Might) Failed Costume Swain

I mean they are pretty _Harroweeny _. Spectral, blue, undead themes. Riot may be trying to be make their own theme similar to Halloween but different enough that people from other countries can appreciate it. Things like pumpkins, skeletons, reapers, zombies, etc. probably don't click as well/mean as much to others around the world.

Not saying you have to like it (I personally really like the new skins), just guessing at Riot's thought processes.

No, cause China and shiet, so no more blood, no more bones nor skeletons, God forbid any skulls, only ghastly skins from now on, like soulstealer ect.

The skin team has let me down the whole year, the only thing i'm praying they don't do is fuck up the project skins if they release any, as they are my favorite line of skins.

KateyKhaos' reason was that they had done costumes in the past few years so this year was naturally not going to be as impressive.

Personally I think that's just her making up another excuse like usual but eh.

Yeah I agree I think the harrowing skins should be playful and fun (Omg now that you mentioned, Galio actually looks 'bit like All might <3 ) [sg-kiko]

Harrowing died last year when they released those godawful slayer skins and Roit said "well we don't want to make it just a Halloween event. " and proceeded to just never make it an event.

I don't think the idea of the Harrowing is suppose to always be fun Halloween related. Remember, in terms of lore for League's world, the Harrowing is more of the "one night of the ghostly apocalypse" rather than the Halloween we know in reality.

Riot I even think said or mentioned that they want to switch off between dark and series, like Underworld and current Death Sworn, and more colorful and actual Halloween-like, like last years skins.

That and like someone mentioned below could be something about China and their taboo against the undead (which in terms that a Chinese company pretty much owns Riot would explain a lot)

They don't celebrate Halloween in China.

Riot has to design a product that spans continents, be taken seriously enough to be bought and used over skins a player may already have, and have a possible future skin line.

They might have data to support this as being the best method, but they aren't going to share that with us.

instead of bloody/axe murderer it becomes something similar to butcher urgot and extend off that
