Strategy:
-Make sure you get off a lot of pressure in lanes, Kill Participation is one of the most important things with Mer’Donth as his W Passive Voidtime Curvature grants him bonus max-health with every kill or assist he gets.
-Mer’Donth excels at denying ganks, allowing him to be very aggressive in lane while being relatively safe. Must you be ganked while playing this champion an easy W > Q combo will send both opponent’s in a completely opposite direction.
-This champion has amazing outplay potential, especially with his E Passive Convulsion Stream that grants you a small shield each time you hit an ability, and if you get off a full combo you’ll be left with a massive shield and possibly some Voidtime Curvature stacks!
-Rylai’s Crystal Scepter is a very good item for Mer’Donth, it improves his tankiness and the passive slow will up your zone control and kill potential, especially since your E also has a slow.
-Mer’Donth his passive allows him to turn around skirmishes or chases, but does not convert hard CC.
-Mer’Donth is amazing in teamfights, since he is rather bulky and has a significant amount of lockdowns, with his ultimate and his E ready he can instill fear into many opponents.
Biography: Mer’Donth is a Void Sentinel that rarely enters the plane of human existence, as he absolutely detests it and wishes to purify this world of the humans that are slowly killing it. He is very committed to his cause and has the ability flatten towns with a snap of his fingers, due to his control over Gravity and the Theory of Relativity.
Mer’Donth however is one of his kind, ever since he emerged into this world his thirst to wipe the nations from the world map has been his only desire. Until he met a certain Bilgewater Pirate that had suffered from every human humiliation possible. For a long time he just watched, his cosmic vision scrying for the Saltwater Scourge wherever he went, Mer’Donth found this human to be quite amusing. The void being knew what had happened to the male, he knew everything really, through his scrying he discovered that people, when faced with great humiliation or heavy mental trauma, they could break. The sentinel found that overnight, a person that had experienced such heavy trauma could change from optimistic and aloud to dark, suicidal and somber. He grew closer to Gangplank, despite the pirate not knowing that Mer’Donth watched his every move, he felt remorse and guilt for the first time in his life. When men undergo such change, very few people can withstand the unconscious urge to feel guilty, and Mer’Donth wasn’t one of those.
After studying the dethroned reaver King for a while, and finding out all about what caused such a twist of a man’s personality, he decided that he was obliged to reveal himself.
On a night filled with stars, when the lone, orange eating man sat upon the docs of a deserted part of Bilgewater’s port, the Sentinel appeared. Of course a cutlass was immediately pointed at his face, but with a calm and aetherial voice Mer’Doneth was able to win Gangplank’s trust.
Time on time the two opposites, one Captain and one other worldly being sat together during the evening, where the captain introduced Mer’Donth to rum and other pirately customs, slowly their convulsing became more friendly and intimate. Both telling the other one about stories from ancient times, Mer’Donth enjoyed the time he spent with Gangplank regardless of the fact that he was human.
One particularly star filled night was the night that Mer’Donth asked a question that would raise a lot of question marks from the former captain.
“Do you hate humanity?”
The clever pirate smiled and prepared a clever question in retaliation.
“In what sense?”
The faceless sentinel then turned his head to Gangplank’s, the Reaver King could’ve sworn that two blank and piercing eyes were looking right into his soul.
“All that humiliation you have faced, the constant danger of getting stabbed in the back by whoever you talk with. Why are you still here? If I was you I would have already flattened the area to the ground. What drives you to stay here?”
The pirate was phased by the question, but he recalled that Mer’Donth was a void being, one that did not know human manners or any human sense at all. So with a grim smirk he replied.
“I stay as proof that I don’t care about society, I have a bounty on me that could give my killer a lousy living. But by staying put I prove I am more than a stab in the back, if they want to kill me they won’t be the ones hunting me, I’ll be the one hunting them. I don’t care if you flatten this whole damned world, because I have lost my faith in humanity, but in every way I am not going to let humanity influence my life any more.”
Mer’Donth understood what he meant, it wasn’t a particular sense of pride or remorse that Gangplank felt, it was the satisfaction of telling the world that he was still there despite the universe’s best efforts. The sentinel couldn’t suppress a smile, his first smile since he arrived here.
“Would you mind if I wipe the humanity from the face of this planet.”
At this Gangplank shot into a loud laugh, almost choking him on the rum he had taken a gulp of just moments ago.
“You do what you want to do mate. I don’t care if you’re going to erase the stars from the skies. But do me a favor.”
“What favor.”
“Let me kill that pirate princess bitch.”
“Deal.”
Both of the men let out one last laugh, before shaking hands and turning away from each other, there will always be a time to come and leave. But Mer’Donth had a mission now, eliminate everyone except for Gangplank and his pirate princess, the void sentinel would enjoy watching the Saltwater Scourge torture this lady.
With an unnatural smirk on his face Mer’Donth strode off into the star filled night sky, preparing his evil scheme.
Quotes: [Currently a work in process, since he has a line toward every single champion and it’s not easy to implement these easily. I made a few ones to fill this up a bit.]
To Gangplank: Ar Ar Yarr! Like that right? Good day, good friend. Did you find the pirate princess yet? To Akali: Stop trying to hit me with your plastic toys, it doesn’t amuse me. To Dr. Mundo: You’re as much a doctor as you are sane. To Evelynn: Fiend To Miss Fortune: Do you happen to be a pirate princess? I have a friend that is looking for you. To Cho’Gath: You feast and feast, but where do you leave your faeces? To Garen: What weapon are you using? A wet towel? To Gnar: How sof- Oh, nevermind. Stop biting me. To Azir: A laughable emperor To Xerath: You don’t know real power. To Diana: The moon? You’re much weaker than I anticipated you to be. To Graves: Where’s your cigar? To Jarvan: A fake prince of fake justice. To Irelia: You can dance all you want once you’re in the deepest pit of the Void. To Illaoi: You’re dragging about a dead god. To Jax: Not even with a real weapon, could you harm me.
[Yeah Mer’Donth is a pretty sassy boy.]
