Fortune has Me
Wrote this a while ago and still not sure if it's that good. Please go easy on me <3

Down by the docks of the twelfth sea my men spoke a story. They spoke ludicrous of a young lass who has been known to have fortune on her side. Time after time I think them mad and drunks, there’s no way a lady can mend to the seas and captain a ship on her own. Just thinking about a small young thing with melons up on her chest, it’s a wonder how her so called crew doesn’t try to shift their own pistol into her barrel. I bet that thing of hers is tighter than the safety on my own gun. I laugh each time I think of her.
Calling my men from the docks to get back on the ship I hear em’ hooting and hollering towards the bar near by. “Seems they just be noticing a tight corset with a fine looking lady attached to em’.” Looking back I see what all the commotion was about. For once the myth had a face that belong to it. Out of all my years across the lands I still have yet to see a lady like her. Her hair long and silky like the color of fire. Her figure something of an angel and her chest... they really were the melons that made you look twice. She seemed somewhat distant towards my men. Keeping to herself I decided to head back, finally meeting this lass who has been said to have a great deal of fortune.
I’m a bit older than most but my sea legs have yet to fail me. Everyone in the crew paused as they saw their good old captain head towards her. I noticed her hat slightly bigger than mine hiding sight to her eyes._ “If you think I’ll be impressed with an old folk like you, it be best you walk back to your ship and sail away with what little dignity you have left.” _
Looking around I came across a barrel of oranges. Taking a few I then sat back down next to her. Being on that ship for months on end I considered them my weakness. Well, my second weakness that is. Like many others rum was my first. Both my men and I bathe in it. Though thanks to my first hand on board all the rum was gone in less than two months. He’s somewhat of a sponge you could say. Laughing a little after hearing this many of my men came to me with somewhat crying of confusion saying,_ “But... why is the rum gone?”_ Really there all just a bunch of whiny little girls. I don’t blame them for drinkin’ their body weight in it now that we’re back at the docks. I only wish they’d didn’t act as some buffoons with their guards down.
I started to peal them as I soon realized who this Miss Fortune really was. With a slight chuckle I ate a few of the oranges I had come across. Wondering how soon it would be before she recognized me I kept one hand close to my gun. The story I’ve been hearing for years was only missing one part and I now realize that._ “So lassy. My men over there, they be talking stories of ya. It seems you’re quite a big deal to them. To me it the only impressive thing I see is that it took me longer to realize who you were. Though tell me Sarah, How are ya parents doin’? _
Taking my gun out I waved it around. Causing a bit of attention to myself I thought why not put it to use. “Lookie here ladies and gents. This so called myth you all be talkin’ about is nothin’ more than Sarah Fortune, The Bounty Hunter. Come and take your luck. She’s said to have no bounty to hard yet she hasn’t even been able to handle old Gangplank.” Looking to her I notice her hand sliding down to her gun. Not to my surprise her men start to gather around the table._ “Now now Sarah, there will be none of that. Be a good little girl and put your gun back where you got it. Oh and while you’re at it tell your men to go mind their own bee’s wax.” _
At this point I had a feeling she was gonna try something. Though to my surprise all she did was stand up and tip her hat to me. “Make all the commotion you want Gangplank. When the time comes I’ll be waiting, you just wait and see.” Placing a card on the table she turned walking away.
Watching her walk away into the fog of the night I picked up what she left behind. Curios to what It said I read it:_ Miss Sarah Fortune, Bounty hunter_. Nothing too shocking on the front but, what she wrote on the back made me wonder if she was more capable than I thought, _"Enjoy the oranges, I’ll be watching - S.F” __
Still to this day I wonder if she’s there watching me, keepin’ tabs on where I am. One day our paths will cross again and when they do all I have I only have one thing left to say,_ “May the best captain win.” _ With a smirk on my face and a slight chuckle I threw the orange peel into the ocean, _“May the best captain win indeed.” _
