Helmut: The Eternal Swordsman

Millenia ago, when man first set foot on Valoran, the world was one of high magic and wonderous things. And yet, it was not to be.

A minor spat between brothers turned into a brawl, and a brawl into a fight to the death.

In slaying his Brother, this man, this first murderer, this first warrior, became something else.

Cursed to live infinite lives, cursed to die infinite deaths, bound to the very concept of war, born to it and doomed to die to it. His only hope, his only chance to lift his curse is to end the very cause of it. The Eternal Warrior, who seeks death, must first slay war itself and bring peace to Runeterra. In his current incarnation, his name, is Helmut.

Yes, this is Helmet Bro.

Helmut's lore is meant to explain his position, often dead on so many different splash screens. How could someone be killed by so many different people? He simply has multiple lives of course.

Well, lets get to the kit.

Helmut is a Melee AD Fighter (he's sort of a middle ground between Juggernaut and Diver) focused on reading his enemies and out-manuveuring their attacks while wielding a giant sword.

Trait: Legionbreaker (name of his sword). Helmut gains AD from bonus Ar and Mr. Helmut also gains an additional 25% bonus AD from all sources. (Excluding the first part of Legionbreaker)Helmut's Potential for ridiculous AD totals is offset by the fact that he has an extremely slow attack speed of 0.45+(0%/lvl) Every few seconds, Helmut's next autoattack is a Sweeping Strike that does increased damage and hits in a wide arc in front of him. (6-3s CD). Sweeping Strikes apply on-hit effects to all targets.

Q: Iron Surge: Helmut swings his sword damaging enemies and destroying projectiles in a wide cone in front of him. If Iron Surge destroys a projectile, it's cooldown is reduced. Masterstroke: Be like Water Iron Surge instead deflects projectiles, dealing their damage back to their

W: Shift: Helmut dashes a short distance (roughly half of Vayne's Tumble range) instantly. 3-1s CD. Masterstroke: Flashing Steel Shift's range is increased by 50%, and Helmut auto-attacks the closest champion when casting.

E: Deflect: Helmut enters a defensive stance, reducing damage taken by 65% for a short duration (1-2s?). Damage absorbed during deflect is added to Helmut's next Sweeping Strike. Masterstroke: Unbreakable During deflect stance, Helmut immune to CC.

R: Masterstroke. Hooo boy, this is complicated. Passive: Each time Helmut levels Masterstroke, he can upgrade one of his other abilities, granting it additional effects. First Cast: Helmut's next Sweeping Strike Silences and slows the primary target for 4s. Second Cast: Unlocked at level 3 of Masterstroke. Helmut's next Sweeping Strike resets the duration of the first Masterstroke's Slow and Silence, and reduces the target's armor by a flat amount based on Helmut's AD for 6s. Continued autoattacks will reset the duration of the armor reduction. Third Cast Unlocked at level 2 of Masterstroke. (Skips to this if the second cast hasn't been unlocked yet). Helmut's next Sweeping Strike does massively increased damage to it's primary target. If a Masterstroke kills it's target, the Cooldown of Masterstroke is reset (but you have to start the ability from the first cast all over again).

Flavor: With each Masterstroke, Helmut says a word in German. "Zwerch" (Thwart) for the first, "Scheitel" (Part) for the second, and finally "Zorn" (Wrath) for the third and final attack. Props if anyone catches the reference

Helmut is to be a late-game monster who relies heavily on both levels and items to reach his full potential. Use his variety of short-CD defenses to negate your enemy's attacks and punish them while delivering massive chunks of damage. He works best when you get inside your opponent's heads and predict their attacks, allowing you to negate them while closing in. His high-damage sweeping strikes and potential murder output of a level 3 Masterstroke make Helmut extremely effective against squishier targets, given his extremely high flat armor reduction.

And yes, Helmut is partially inspired by Dark Souls because I realized I was making the Chosen Undead halfway through writing his lore.
