Disengage Tank Champion: Guardian of The Voidgate
Howdy,
What would yall think of a tanky champion that functions more as a disengage tank than an engage? There are so many engage tanks, but this champion concept concerns mostly prioritizing disengage tools and durability to protect a nearby point on the map.
The design of this champion portrays two themes: protection and isolation. The backstory revolves around an ancient royal guard, armed with a pike-axe (a long axe with a spear at its tip) protecting a central Gate to The Void. His goal is to protect this gate, preventing anyone from entering, and nothing from leaving. Over the centuries, the Gate's powers had distorted him and his armor, giving him monstrous proportions and arcane abilities. Imagine a character not powerful enough to overcome the transformative radiation of the void unlike Malzahar and Kassadin.
Stats: I am not sure about this catagory, but I know that he should have a low base attack speed and a high attack range (for a melee champion). After all, he is supposed to be a lanky monstrosity wielding a pike.
Abilities:
Passive:
-
After standing still for 1.5 seconds (crowd control interrupts this channel), your next attack shields you for 1 second and empowers your next ability. -
The damage your basic abilities deal increases when you have a shield.
Q: Strike in a line skillshot towards target direction (~75 width, 750 length) quickly, with no delay. Deals base magic damage + (your maximum hp).
If you strike an enemy that is in the middle of dashing **OR** used a blink ability in the past .25 seconds, stun them for .25 seconds and pulls them to the Void Gate Guardian's location.
Empowered: reset the cooldown of this ability when you pull an enemy with this ability
W: Channel for up to 3 seconds in which during this duration:
-
You may not move and are rooted
-
You are unstoppable
-
You gain 75 attack range
-
Your auto attacks slow enemies and deal bonus magic damage based on your maximum HP.
When you leave this ability, gain a short burst of movement speed. Doubles towards The Void Gate.
E: Swing your weapon in a circle around you (~500 range) dealing magic damage to all enemies in the radius. When casting the ability, you choose a target direction.
Empowered: moves enemies to a point in the target direction.
When The Void Gate is active, this ability is always empowered.
(For reference, if the Void Guardian is the at the center of a circle, whose radius is defined as r, where r is less than 500 range and equal to the position of an enemy champion, and x is the degree you have chosen when casting this ability, the enemy champion moves the the xth degree on the circle whose r is defined by the original position of the champion.) Essentially, this ability moves all enemies around a central point to a new position, similar to how an orbit works i guess. The above may just be nonsense. It is supposed to just move all enemies around you to a line that you choose.
R: Summon The Void Gate Summon The Void Gate 600 units away in a target direction. The Gate lasts up to 5 seconds and is destroyed if an enemy champion passes through it. Slows the enemy that passes through it for a brief duration.
While the Void Gate is active, you gain a flat amount of armor and magic resist and bonus movement speed towards The Gate.
If The Void Gate lasts for the entire 5 seconds, Your ultimate becomes Void Bolt. VOID BOLT-- activate within 7/8/9 seconds of successfully defending The Void Gate for free, and can be activated if you die. Launches a bolt of lightening at target ally (within 1500 range) that deals massive damage to all enemies around them based on their current HP.
What do you think? Balanced? Overpowered? Is the ultimate minigame sound fun and new? What role would this character play? Would you like to see this champion in League, or one of these abilities in the game?
