Aurelion Sol Idea

So me and some friends were playing a custom and i was playing Aurelion Sol. One of my buddys came up with an interesting idea were Whenever Aurelion Sol does his Q/E combo, his Q should deal more damage the bigger and further it travels. That would be a fun mechanic and give Sols' abilities more senergy with each other. Not sure if anyone else has thought of it but that would be cool.

They probably played around with it during development, but stuck to only increasing stun range.

Currently it makes no difference between hitting a short or long range Q damagewise, but if you introduce that change then every close range Q will feel like you are wasting damage and are not properly using the ability. Also since W requires you to be somewhat close to the enemy, R puts your enemies in W range and E has longish CD it actually doesn't synergize all that well.
