Sigil

All credits to the creators. Just wanted to share this here. These people deserve to work at Riot. They are too good to be passed by.

EDIT: To those complaining about the kit(or about to). I was talking about the design and the effort they put into making something that looks decent. This is top quality stuff.

I cry at night knowing concepts like these will never be used in-game. A rioter already came out saying that boards concepts have about a 0.001% chance to even influence ingame stuff. This is such a great concept, and I would honestly participate in a legit petition to have Riot seriously consider collaborating.

I don' t want to sound like a douche. Really.

The art is amazing, both as the artistic value itself and how it is developed and exposed in the page. The coding is excellent, being able to run it without any problem at all. There is a lot of captivating text and the formatting of the page is spot on, only lacking videos of the skills used ( but that is largely forgettable ;) ). It is not just good, is professional.

So i feel like a douche when i start shitting on the parade and saying that the kit is totally lacking, in every aspect. The feelings it provides, the utility, the uniqueness, the strategy, the mechanics required and considering both the spells alone and the spells in the complex. I am not nitpicking, actually i am trying to be the mist flexible possible and without being too much harsh in judging what i do see, but rather what the developer means, and yet...

But i don't n want to focus on that in this post. I can elaborate later if someone disagrees with me, but i guess the faults of this kit is more than evident for everyone and probably someone is already discussing it, but i want to say something else first.

What i am saying is that is evident no one cared for the kit. No one cared about making a champion either, but rather conceptualizing and exposing graphically an idea of a champion, with some pale and foggy ideas about what he should do. There is no history in the page that shows up the development process for his kit. Hell, there is not even any name next to the champion kit, like everything else.

It is fine to do a champion idea without kit. Really. You have to do what you feel to do.

So, to the readers of this champion project, don' t judge too harshly his kit, it is meant to give only a vague idea.

And to the developers of this champion... next time, if you don' t know what kit give to the champion just don' t do it at all. If you don' t put one it does not mean the champion is incomplete, it just means that your project had a different focus from creating a champion. It also downgrades the whole project - look at the kit section, graphically and textually wise! Is unappeable compared to everything else, all piled up in a place... and the ult states that the champion gains different spells, but no one is defined there!.

I understnd it is a fan work in progres (probably project for something else), but the passive is VERY problematic :

  1. Unless he gain fireflies from Champions assist or kills, they force him into farming the jungle constantly and endlessly.

  2. They impose devourer through his passive and he would either snowball or get shutdown by getting counter-jungled

  3. Imposing devourer would also impose stuff like Lich Bane and Nashor tooth.

  4. Overral kit seems to steal the spotlight from Orianna and doesn't seem to make him unique Enough (orianna V2 just like they admitted Diana could have been better due to her being Akali V2 with that kit.)

The concept behind the passive is nice, but it is way too restrictive and punishing on paper.

honestly think that, with all the "new" mechanics added by riot last season that this champ would fit perfectly. i would probably buy and play him simply for the fact that he looks like a much more mobile bard with lee sin mixed in, and would be perfect to jungle with.

Literally the best champion concept i've seen, hell it even has a video teaser and 3d animations with Chromas :O!

Riot, notice it!

I gotta agree with most people and say that the kit is mostly just jumbled up, the skills have "synergy" with each other but they also try to do something else at the same time and ends up with a pretty overloaded and messy kit

Little Stick Man1/7/2016, 1:13:13 AM2 votes

holy shit this is cool

SpecterVonBaren1/7/2016, 5:12:33 AM2 votes

I think his look could be a bit more exaggerated, as he looks now he seems more like a Dota 2 character than an LoL one, he's just not distinct enough right now. The presentation though is fantastic and the artwork is top notch though, very well done in that regard, however...

The kit isn't very good, or at least, the current wording of it is terrible due to translation issues which I'm hoping they'll be able to fix, but the kit itself is kinda all over the place without any distinct theme behind it. Aside from having more mobility than Lee Sin, there's no real defining core aspect to his gameplay.

Këm1/7/2016, 7:49:05 AM2 votes

I cry when I see that people call the kit "not good" when they probably haven't thought of the really quick combos this kit can pull off.

Throw Staff and Magical Leash work like J4 without a knock up, but if you land the Staff on a champion it'll slow them, and you'll be able to just hop in on them for more damage. You can also just use Throw Staff to just scout areas and call it back to you (something J4 doesn't do)

The passive allows you counter jungle hard. You won't need kills or assist to get dragonflies. It can be worked on cause being able to kill a jungle camp in 5 autos is kinda broken. But stacking magic damage on the auto attacks is really nice.

Inner Fury can be casted while you're moving (most likely be an auto reset), from what I'm reading can be used to silence enemies if you use Throw Staff and call it back in Melee ranged duels that didn't start from a W/E Combo.

The ultimate is all on how good you did during the early game. Did you snowball lanes with ganks? Scuttle control? Counter Jungling when you can? It also turns your Q into an AoE Ranged attack that can be casted while moving.

Overall it's just a high risk, high reward champion.

The initial concept is cool but as for the champion's kit/visuals they could be tweaked to fit the game a bit more.

Either way that little webpage looked great, rito should hire the people who made that and incorporate that to every champions home page on their website (possibly something similar in client too)

Tough Guy1/7/2016, 5:02:57 PM2 votes

while I don't believe this champion will ever have a place in League of Legends, I do believe that you are qualified to be an artist for Riot and should go there to spread your ideas.

Rigbum1/7/2016, 5:30:05 PM2 votes

I'm gonna say what I said in the other thread, The ult seems randomly thrown in as a "wow factor" it makes no sense thematically or kit wise, other than that I think its a good design.

Shadow Hazard1/7/2016, 7:28:44 PM2 votes

This is a really cool overall idea but I think the kit could use some reworks/rewording, as well as some additions to the lore to cement the changes.

The passive reads as if every time the true damage hit happens he gains a damage stack, and that can become out of hand really fast, even more oppressive than nasus, keep that passive stacking to killing them allowing the on hit to stack of champs also will help give sigil presence in lane should someone decide to take him there, giving him a low base AD will give room for the passive true damage to be allowed outside the jungle on minions/champs also to give another reason to put him in a lane also. There needs to be better showing in the lore that the people used magic staffs because the way it is read now makes it seem like they used fighting staffs and if that is the case add to the lore of him finding the "magic staff" and the relevance of the fireflies, are they supposed to represent the spirit of the people? Disabling the basic attacks sans staff is a bad idea in my opinion because of the passive and his kit seeming a lot like a dive fighter. I would say a better idea would be to disable the magic on hit passive when the staff if not being held, with that there is a reason to link the idea's of a magic staff and it's relation to the fireflies into the lore. Continuing from that it needs to be decided whether they will be a staff fighter like jax(possibility to add into the lore of meeting or being trained by jax) or a fist fighter or a combo of both depending on if the staff is there or not for his basic attacks.

Seeing as the kit looks like it has some inspiration from riven/lee like combos, I would say to make sure to include into the tooltip to allow for recast of skills within X amount of time after first casting them. For the E I would say making it a short dash while holding staff is needed so that all 3 abilities can have a with and without staff interaction.

The ult is not good at all in my opinion, since the kit already looks like this would be one of the more mobile champs in the list the movespeed and at the cost of the passive on hit will not make the ult worth using. I would say a better action to have with the ult would be to have it empower the other skills by a further scaled amount by the firefly stacks, and since the magic on hit has a lower scale rate potential than nasus by it's limiting factor of relying of jungle monsters (and champs by my earlier suggestion) having them consumed by the ult is not the best in my opinion, just limit the skills damage potential by keeping the AP scaling lower and start of the ability damage higher with lower per level scaling so that the late game power will rely on the firefly stacks

This... I have no words other than magnificent or maybe stupendous would be better suited

DamnationForAll1/7/2016, 9:20:46 PM1 votes

Now earlier I put up a post saying we should petition for this OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS in the game. If you read the kit, I mean it doesn't even work with itself really... I love the idea of the champion, he looks cool and all that but I think that the gameplay could use some work. Riot should totally see this, I'd love to get their opinion on it.

SeezeRa1/7/2016, 8:26:24 PM1 votes

I saw it it's so cool plz Riot do something with this Concept just make it as a real champ

Stachowiak1/8/2016, 1:01:06 AM1 votes

I seriously love what the community can come with (seriously, a freakin' full on champion page!?) , but it makes me sad when I think about how Riot can even handle something like this. I'm sure that they love to see people adding to League, but it is hard to collaborate with the community because it's tricky to please EVERYONE. Let's say this makes a large influence into the next champion released by Riot... A huge group of content and concept creators will be pissed over the fact that this idea can make it over theirs. Prismatikat1/8/2016, 1:12:08 AM1 votes

This is absolutely amazing honestly like the lore fits riots style and also hinted at Zac when they mentioned the moving green ball and the factor that it is zaun kinda confirms it and also that's the thing riot would do with hinting towards other champions with other champs example being somebody like aatrox who shows up in some splash arts and has affected history in major ways and I really love all the work they put into it especially the cute little frog but those abilities man.... I got confused just reading them and like some of the abilities were cool but definetly could use some work like the pro touch (THAT DOESNT MEAN %HEALTH DAMAGE FOR CHRISTS SAKE NO) and also like whats up with that ult like really.... he just rides his staff like a hoverboard... for real? I think a (in my personal opinion) a better idea would be like some sort of power up for seren where they can just go ham and deal good damage or have it be like quinns old ult but sigil turns into the frog with new abilities that are much more powerful or some heavy CC along with boosts to AP or AD (whatever they scale with) but yeah overall I love that champ and it reminds me of greninja kinda

PokladnicaZla1/7/2016, 10:00:54 AM1 votes

This is simply outstanding! You guys are geniuses! :)

Can we expect more champs like Sigil from you? :D

Seekêr1/8/2016, 5:36:44 PM1 votes

sorry. I'm not on board. Having to collect fireflies to utilize his ult and then losing the fireflies on ult is a turn off for me. It promotes an afk farming/collecting playstyle that resets over and over again. The rest of the kit sounds cool. Just not the ult.

Otarie535/14/2016, 8:22:16 PM1 votes

i think the double movement speed buff is maybe too much also the staff mechanic doesn't seem really great for a jg
