Short Bio:

Dante was once a famous demon slayer who, in the end, was bested by old age. With his work far from finished, Dante chose to immortalize himself into his blade by becoming the very thing he hunted. Dante now lives through his sword who feeds off those he cuts in order to gain the power necessary to slay demons. His wielders lose their free will and control over their body for as long as Dante deems necessary. Dante finds himself in the Summoner’s Rift as his quest led him to the place where many of the strong demons have been gathered.

Goal:

Introduce the mechanic of reflection. Reflecting projectiles will be hard to execute but will reward the player greatly if done correctly. Dante will be another fighter type champion whose ability to stay in a fight will depend on the player’s ability to continuously proc Mark of a Demon by weaving in his basic attacks with his spells efficiently and paying attention to Dante’s cooldowns.

Champion Name: Dante

Role: Fighter

Kit:

Basic Attack: Melee, blade.

Resource: None.

Passive: Mark of a Demon

Dante’s basic attacks on enemy champions leave a mark that can be consumed by his abilities. Dante steals life upon consumption; only a portion of the stolen life heals Dante and the rest are stored in the blade. (The hp consumed will scale with Dante’s max hp).

Q: Demon Slaying Slash/Stab

First Active: Dante dashes in a straight line dealing damage to all those who are hit.

Reactivation during the dash allows Dante to end his dash early and jump/hop over to the position of the player’s mouse. The dash itself cannot jump walls but his early reactivation allows him to hop walls.

Second Active: Dante stabs at a direction dealing bonus damage and applying all on-hit effects. Dante has a very small window to activate the second active. Consuming a stack with the second active cuts the cooldown of Demon Slayer’s Slash.

W: Reflecting Sweep

Dante swings his sword in a wide sweeping motion (from his left to right) in front of him. Any projectile hit right at the center of his swing is reflected back. The swing itself deals physical damage as well as slowing all it hits.

E: [HALP]

Passive: The amount Dante heals from Mark of a Demon is increased depending on the amount of stored life. This is put on cooldown while E is active and on cooldown.

Active: Dante consumes all life stored to deal additional damage on his basic attacks and will now stun the first stack consumption on unique enemy champions, slowing on all consumption afterwards. Bonus damage, stun duration and % slowed scales with the amount of stored life consumed.

R: Demon Slaying Art: Purifying Slash

DSA: Purifying Slash is Dante’s most powerful of his demon slaying arts. Dante channels for a short duration and swings his blade much like his Reflecting Sweep, sending out a powerful shockwave. This shockwave targets those who Dante have deemed to be demons and grows stronger the more it passes through.

The shockwave deals additional damage equal to the %max hp of every enemy champion it passes through. The travel range of the shockwave increases a small amount for every champion it passes through with a min/max travel range.

Idea Behind the Kit:

Dante is a champion who does his best in long, drawn-out fights. He needs to find the right time to enter fights and needs to correctly aim his abilities. Timing is everything with his Reflecting Sweep as the window and area to reflect is very small. Maybe instead of reflecting the ability itself, Dante can reflect it back as a ball of energy instead dealing damage based on the power of the ability reflected. Much of his power depends on the mastery of the champion so I believe not having a resource bar is justified. Dante has conditional mobility because of Q’s long cooldown and using it as mobility gives up much of Dante’s power.

With Dante, my first week and my 5th champion is done. I've been trying to diversify the types of champions I've been posting up and hopefully I have been able to do that without making any of them boring. These champions have all been floating around my head for a long time, some longer than others, and hopefully I have been able to put them down on to paper in a way that correctly portrays the image I have in my head. As always, please do leave a comment with what you think. Thanks for reading!
