Let’s fix Bard. The problem with Bard’s kit right now can be broadly described as an** issue of direction**. I don’t mean creative direction, more the direction his abilities points towards. Right now, Bard is just this weird dude, running around the map with no real goal beyond grabbing these chimes and getting his meep friends to follow him around while he does so. While in lane, he provides** situational and positional based cc** with a less than stellar heal, and an ultimate that is just as likely to get your team killed as it is to save them.
Going back to what I said about the issue with his abilities’ direction issue, it is that they are all rather indirect. His passive results in his roaming the map, at most dropping heals for his laners and jungler, or using the opportunity to ward. Other supports already fulfill this need, and do it better than him at that, by providing a stronger immediate heal. Despite this, the fact that his heal is something that he can leave for use when needed is an interesting and unique idea, so there is something there that we can expand upon.
Little of his kit is straight forward and exists more in the realm of utility, which is not a bad thing, but the more abstract the ability, the more difficult it can be to find a good use or application for it. We have mucked about enough, time to break down what I think his should be revamped into.
