Does the concept of Sylas imply a new game mode - Ability Draft?
It was once a heated discussion because of the April Fool's video a year or two ago. Ability Draft is not something new and it has been on DOTA for a long time. Last time I saw a mate play an Ability Draft game on DOTA, there were 12 random heros and 10 players would draft the abilities from those 12 heros into a whole brand new hero. The stats (health, att. speed, etc) were based on the random hero assigned. The players could draft 1 ultimate and 3 basic abilities (can be 3 Q-abilities). Every time when I don't have my computer to play League, I make my mate play Ability draft (because he doesn't like playing League alone).
Sylas's ultimate has shown that Riot has already got the ability to make different abilities into one champion, indicating the technology may allow a new game mode on League similar to the Ability Draft mode on DOTA. I know comparing DOTA and League is quite annoying, but I like the Ability Draft mode because it requires a more comprehensive and broad understanding of the champions and their stats and abilities.
I truly wish Riot would make this happen (and as a permanent mode) because of the potential fun and the skill (knowledge) needed. However, because of the requirement, it may be a good idea to have the minimal level set as Lv. 50 to be able to play this game mode.
Please be free to weigh in and have a discussion! What do you think about Ability Draft mode on League and do you think it is coming soon?
