Kennen, the Heart of the Tempest, needs some work

Kennen's look needs a lot of work. For starters he has 6 skins, including the standard. I'm not trying to say 6 skins is too little, it's a fair amount. However, look at Tahm Kench. He has ONE skin, but yet it actually feels like a different champion look when you use it. You can play Kennen with any of the skins and the only thing that is really changing is color. No details really change except in the Arctic Ops skin where he throws Kunais. That's the only real difference. I love Kennen as a champion but he just feels boring to play and look at. Just standard abilities, nothing exciting. His kit is amazing but the execution is weak.

Kennen is the Heart of the Tempest. First of all, what is a tempest. "a violent windy storm" is what I get when I type in tempest in to google. So why is Kennen portrayed as the harbinger of lightning??? Sure a tempest can contain lightning but that isn't it's only component, water and wind are also participants. I'm not saying lets turn Kennen in to a wind sprite or anything, but he's one of my favorite champions and I feel like he needs a rework.

His kit is amazing so I am not even going to touch on that. His look though is so outdated. Maybe when Kennen was being created Riot decided to make him more lightning based because Janna was already made. I'm not saying that Kennen should get a whole visual update, he just needs a new skin. I've spent HOURS trying to figure out a concept for a new skin, and you just can't. I can't see a Kennen skin coming in the near future because what can you do with Kennen? Change the color of the robes? Done that 5 times already. Give him a different weapon? No, he's a ninja and the shuriken/Kunai is his weapon choice.

So what can you do with the Heart of the Tempest?

Well, if you go beyond the barrier of reskins, you can come up with a whole new design. He's the heart of the tempest, so why not show that off a little bit?

Actual Model To be honest, not much you can do except recolor it. So maybe change it. He controls winds, maybe instead of running he can float with a gust of wind under him? Maybe even a small tidal wave as he can control waves with wind as well? Obviously you would want to change his coloring and such. I was originally thinking that maybe actually make him a wind spirit type deal? Like an actual figure made out of wind. I thought that this was too unrealistic but why not? has spooky gangplank and has spectral fiddlesticks. Although both of these skins are in reality just changing the color of the skin, it makes it looks like they are ghostly. So why couldn't a new Kennen skin make him a wind sprite?? Maybe keep the same shape, just make it out of wind?

Q He throws a shuriken now. Nothing really to complain but if the new skin should be different, then so should the q. Parts of a tempest include wind, water, and lighting. I'm not saying throw wind or water at them instead of a shuriken, and have that covered. If his model was made in to a wind spirit type, maybe a shuriken made out of wind? If not the shuriken charged with lightning doesn't really have to be changed.

W I can not think of anything to do with this ability. Kennen does a small jump in the air and applies another stack to whoever already has stacks on them. However, how do they get that added stack?? Oh yeah, it just appears. Lame?!?! Maybe instead of miraculously getting another stack, when W is pressed a bolt of lightning can sprout from Kennen and jump on to the enemies? That would be more logical I would think?

E I like the idea of transforming in to something to move around. Him transforming in to a ball of lightning is actually one of his best abilities, looks wise. New skin idea though in mind, it should be changed. I'd rather him be transformed in to a ball/gust of wind to really show that his main attribute is controlling winds. Simple enough right?

R Obviously, a champion's ultimate should be changed the most in my mind for a new skin. His ultimate currently consists of a circle of lightning and lightning striking down on the targets. The vertical lightning is a great idea which should stay. However, I believe that Kennen's ultimate can really show who he is. Instead of the outer circle being lightning, couldn't it be more like a tornado? A circle of winds. What else is involved in a tempest? Water. Inside the circle of winds could be at least a small reference to water. Maybe some splashes just for cosmetic affect. What if Kennen ulted in the river? Maybe higher waves? That would be pretty awesome I think. Also, when most people ult as kennen they will also e. So then it looks like a ball of lightning with lightning all around it. Kind of boring. Maybe when Kennen ults (without E being used), Kennen's model could become, well, the heart of the tempest. Obviously I don't know what that looks like but I don't think Kennen's standard model should be in the middle during a storm. Maybe more like a ball of lightning or something that looks like a black hole? IDK.

Trust me when I say that this is not the best idea for a new skin for Kennen. I'm just hoping some people will read this and be inspired to try and make a new concept for him. Kennen is one of those champions that needs a new skin, but doesn't have a lot of options. Maybe some of my ideas are even far fetched, but I just really want to see a change to Kennen.
