3 issues with the current Boards system

1: Hidden boards.

There are large and active boards like http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/roleplaying that aren't listed. Although I don't post there, I read it, and it makes no sense to intentionally hide it from everyone. Put it on the list that every other board is listed on. I'm not sure whether this is the only one (Hopefully it is and I haven't been missing anything)

2: A lack of a board for new players

The Tips and Tricks board is technically one, but its label is misleading and has confused many people. The old New Player Forum, although it wasn't the best place, was still a place for new players to ask questions and get better. Now, the Tips and Tricks forum mostly consists of guides and advice for ranked players, or ranked players asking for advice. This is a necessary place to have, but it essentially eliminates the new players' place to receive advice and look for other people who are just starting. This needs to be split up, or even just renamed to something that may catch the eye of a new player.

3: Chronological sorting

Chronological sorting is a wonderful feature to have, but you need to have the option of "Reply" without switching views and the ability to see who replied to whom. It's pretty much useless at the moment.

There has been a post on updating quoting, so I hope that it fixes this issue.

1: The whole upvote/downvote thing sucks everything gets buried that isn't popular.

2: Colors suck. It should be light background with dark lettering, not other way. Ever seen an E-reader? This way hurts the eyes.

3: No tracking, Track your post, other posters' post, Track thread you like. None of that. I resort to google to try to find threads.

I agree with OP.

I disagree with Jinxedchef's two first points:

  1. Upvotes/downvotes let Riot easily see what's important to a lot of players. If need be, they could filter out players who vote on common rants and double the value of players who post quality content and discuss things with well-founded arguments simply by flagging occasional players as a given type and displaying the votes with adjusted values when they need to know what those players think.

The big question is what the purpose of the forum should be, and giving feedback to Riot should probably be pretty high on that list.

  1. Colors are fine. Black on white is fine on paper, but is painfully bright on a lot of screens. I find the muted colors and dark background here to be quite pleasant and easy to read.
