[Feedback] Posting Discipline?

I don't think the new platform matters. There's no posting discipline in the lol "community" by anyone, not the rioters, and not the players.

People post feedback threads in general discussion like it belongs there and no one moves them to where they belong. And instead of not replying to threads in the wrong place rioters reply and give those threads attention.

Just go into the dev tracker (of the current forums) and look at where rioters post. It's almost all in GD, regardless if the thread belongs in GD or not. I'm sure rioters read many of the sub-forums but as long as they reward threads posted in the wrong sub-forums with attention moving to a new platform won't change anything and all of this will be a huge waste of your time.

Here's a fine example

A question about the N64 posted in GD. Clearly it belongs in off-topic but look it has the attention of a rioter. I don't mean to point out anyone, this is just one case.

New platform, old platform doesn't matter without posting discipline. Instead of just building something new trying to reinvent the wheel why not just fix what you have?

Not to mention the style is nice for reddit, but all the "discussions" in this beta feel like the comments section of individual blog post, with each "discussion" an island onto itself.

I completely agree here. This entire effort will be wasted if there are not moderators visibly active in their duties.

The major plan for this new platform is an increased moderation presence as well as make the moderation feel like members of the community vs. faceless (void). The Rioters in charge have taken queues from the forums themselves and are making strides to both improve the moderation and make everything more active for the community as a whole.

Also part of the reason they are reworking this platform is because the vBulletin system doesn't work in certain countries so it'd basically be improving something that doesn't function in other districts of business.
