If a player can get chat restricted in game for certain things in game, they should be restricted similarly on boards for certain things on boards.

I expect to get downvoted by people smitted by Lyte. summoner 11

To my knowledge this happens. I haven't had any moderation action taken against me, but I would guess that either repeated or severe cases would result in temporary or permanent suspension from the platform.

Got to say this is a tricky area here. The way 'some' people act in game and on here can at times be very different. Not sure it would feels fair to do this. And I know some people would have major fits about it. LOL

Here goes, if it is a minor offence and punishment in game, no I don't go for forum ban. I mean what if they truly are innocent and want to tell their story ?

If however a in game punishment turns into days and days of repeated spam complaint threads that disrupt others then, I am for the most part okay with this action.

Or is OP asking this...Are the same standards for punishment held both in game and on forum? I can answer this No they are not. Things can be bypassed in discussions that during a game would likely result in the very least in a report.

Just rereading before posting this and it appears OP means It should be....I will still let my last paragraph stay up though for content.

If I understand what your saying right, then Yes I think so.

Okay are you saying if poster break forum rules should they be punished similar to the way they are in game ? I'm I getting you right? And, like do you mean a warning, can't talk or restrict talk etc. ? If so, very interesting ideal..

As to your 2nd comment well I will wait a bit and see if you are around before addressing :)

Ok yeah, some players are banned. Yet in at least a couple cases I question weather a perma-ban was required. Now don't get me wrong there are many more that need to know when they are doing hurtful things. This is where the ideal of implementing the same in game type punishments might very well work.

I am so glad that you brought this up, I think sometimes we goof around and then it gets out of hand and at that point it is hard to get a handle on what is being said. So for instance a person starts a discussion that may be slightly edgy but has a point, then other take a bad path from there.

So how does Riot fix it ? I could see your ideal working. Do you know where I might find more information about such things. I do look but end up confused to find specifics.

Sorry to rattle on but I wanted to make another point here. I think it is hard to make 'set in stone' rules, I won't go into specifics. I think Riot may be looking for feedback on what is acceptable on forum at this point beyond what they know is not right.

So the report button is a good indicator, the problem with this is you can't always say with a basic report button what is the true issue. Also, people may not know what is or isn't alright. One would think the basic 'don't be a jerk' is enough but apparently it isn't, sadly.

So I will risk the downvotes myself and just say I think Riot should at least consider a 'lyte Smite' approach. Would that be Tamet ? Well, if people could see why some poster get perma-banned or have deleted comments then I would hope most people would learn to adhere with these rules.

Again a touchy subject haha to say the least. But, for what you said, yeah I like it.
