[Idea][Feedback]Where will all the commonplace GD threads go?

Currently, GD is by far the largest community on League itself. Amassing an incredible user base, GD has become, in and of itself, a community full of LOLs and LAWLs for many years to come.

However, the fact that the new community is lacking this common grounds, would in effect cripple the bonds put in place by the common plaza - the meeting place for fellows with a common interest in League, known as GD.

By removing this section of the users from, the result is that you have removed the very thing that makes the forums fun - the communication with players of a common interest, the absurdity of the threads that would be posted, often enough to make you laugh to the heavens, and the occasional well-made troll thread that makes you laugh regardless. Where, on this new forum, would we have our 'Late Night GD picture threads' which are so enjoyed upon the Late-night GD community? Where would we post such absurd comments as 'How does Lissandra go to the bathroom?' 'If I planted a sapling, could I grow a pet Maokai' and even 'Why is my poop green?' Even if we end up creating some sort of additional sub section for each of these; it lacks the sense of community given to us by GD. GD is the biggest League community at this time, and I believe that removing this community from the League entirely is a harsh misstep that would result in the loss of something the community holds very dear to them.

As a result - I suggest that we create a General Discussion sub-community on the new community forums. And, additionally, since it's such a large base - I suggest that we allow popular threads from other sub-communities to be shown at the top of the General Discussion Sub-community, to a maximum of five; maybe a way for users to expand it. This will allow the large community to comment on important discussions of other threads without having to leave their home forum - it is ambiguous by definition, and by it's ambiguity it should be able to comment on many threads from other sections as well.

Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that a GD sub-community be added to the Community Beta.

I feel like GD has become the scum of league honestly most of the time there is only QQ and flaming threads there. now over a year ago it was an actual place where you could come together and get stuff solved and put in motion but now its more of a place to complain and troll. I really hope they dont bring GD to the new style.

Unless Riot can find a way to stop an OVERWELMINGLY HIGH MAJORITY, im talking like 95 - 99%, of all the stuff that gets posted on GD BEFORE someone posts it i dont want to see it here too.

this includes but is not limited to the dumb amount of porn that gets posted 'because riot isnt watching' and the rediculous number of posts being spammed with QQ for the sake of QQ, and of course everything posted by
.

Honestly, I would love the continuation of GD on the new community site, for all it's ups and downs, it's still a place that many people would call home on the forums.

However, if you do create a GD in the new community, then it'll really dissipate the whole intention of making new forums: To encourage threads in ALL subforums, not just one.

My suggestion to appease both sides of this argument would be to allow threads to exist in several sub-communities at once, and create the Common Grounds sub-community as well. That way, if people still want to hang out in CG now, they can and post funny meme games or whatnot and have it exist in both CG AND the Meme & Games Community.

This'll make people who just want to see Memes not miss out because every related thread will be in their sub-community while not having to deal with the less than civil threads that seem to pop up in GD.

Of course, this would extend also to threads that mix and match Sub Communities. For example, if someone had an idea to update Kayle and Morgana's Lore to fit better with the current scope of League, where would it go? Would it fit better in Story & Style or would it be more appropriate in Ideas & Feedback? Instead of having to decide, tag it as both when you create the thread and let it flourish in both at the same time.

repalce text by *text*, it'lll make it emphasized like old forum did.

As for the GD concern, I believe that it's intentional. The fact that GD existed meant that most Rioters ended up going to GD, since it contained everything, which lead to players posting everything in GD... which is an infinite loop.

Basically, by removing GD, you will end up forcing players to think about where it belongs ,and the forum will, that way, be somewhat self-moderated. I do however feel like we may want an off-topic subcommunity for things like talking about how superior DOTA2 is, or why everyone is playing Osu! and Heartstone...

The subcommunities here definitely don't represent a broad enough spectrum of people for us to feel like we could replace the forums and still leave everyone with a home.

One really critical difference though is that subcommunities here aren't meant to be categories like forum sections. When designing forums you typically want enough categories that means there will be a right place for every topic. here we want diverse enough communities that there's a right home for every person.

For example - a discussion of the Jinx reveal could easily exist in two places. One community solely devoted to diamond-level competitive play, and another devoted to lore/story.

While there would be overlap - each group of people would be interested in a very different aspect of the same content and the discussion should be optimized around the people who are consuming it.
