[Feedback] Automatic likes?

So this is just a random tidbit I noticed while posting responses to feeds. It looks like you automatically start off with a like when you post a comment; that is, you like your own comment.

Now, not that there's anything wrong with this persay -- I mean obviously if you're posting the comment you like it -- but I was just curious as to the purpose behind it? Why the unnecessary self-love? It is the community's feedback and approval you're looking for, after all...

Simply curious.

To not add discrepancy between people who self-likes their posts and people who don't. This is along the liens of "Hot" topics disincentivizing self-bumps. Basicall,y they want you to focus on others, more than on yourself.
